Teenage striker Bruce Anderson scored on his debut as Aberdeen rescured a point deep into stoppage time against 10-man Rangers at Pittodrie in the SPFL Ladbrokes Premiership. Steven Gerrard's league debut as manager got off to the worst possible start when Alfredo Morelos was sent off early on, but James Tavernier's penalty appeared to be sending him to victory before Anderson struck at the death.

To draw 1-1 with 10 men, away from home against Scotland's second best and biggest team is a fantastic achievement for Rangers. Great result for them. Lets hope they can get closer to second place this season

Aberdeen were awful today and were there for the taking, even against 10 men. However, The Rangers showed an embarrassing level of sportsmanship by rolling around the pitch at every opportunity, the keeper taking an eternity to take a goal kick, even pushing the ball further away when he went to retrieve it. For that karma caught up to them with the equaliser.

b82rez just watch thats a solid defense barisic goldson katic and flanagan Goldson 6 foot 3 katic 6 foot 4 barisic 6 foot 1 flanagan 5 foot 10 Aberdeen played punt the ball up the park and goldson and katic swept it up each time gerrard has had 8 games and 17 goals scored and 3 conceded just watch that team is far more aggresive and orginised Aberdeen were poor and if rangers had 11 men on park they would have won that they were good with 11 and just as good with 10 even though Aberdeen had 12

8 games against who??, the defense has still to b tested against a good team, european minnows and a poor aberdeen side aint much of a test, the fact is rangers have played nobody yet, 6 foot 4 is great against punts up the park, wait and see how they cope against a real football team, quick passing strikers with pace, whole different game, every year its the same, set yourself up for a massive fall

Aberdeen were terrible..... The Rangers were terrible..... It was a terrible game, terrible refereeing, terrible! The Rangers fans were truly terrible, Aberdeen fans didn't have much to cheer about but they certainly don't boo their side while under McInnes!

Must appeal video evidence there for all to see provacation ! Referree couldnt see it but linesman must have seen twice contact due to the line he had directly with players. Standard of officials in attendance at all games in Scotland for last few years poor not only in Aberdeen or Rangers games but all Scottish games. Time to do something about it.

Wow.............I''d only heard about the Morelos incident until now. All i can really say is that I hope to God that red card was set in motion by the genuine limitations of our officials , rather than something else because the scottish game doesn't need another considerable problem to add to the list. If we hope to improve then officials who can withstand the demands physically, and perhaps more importantly, mentally, should be a priority. I don't think this particular referee was even up to play and relied on a linesman who was likewise trailing. If we are looking to raise the standard, then that means across the board.

Brilliant performance almost to a man from us today, we defended so well right til that goal. Ref was a disgrace, morelos deserved a booking and dom ball should have been sent off. Morelos though needs to stop being so easily wound up and giving the ref a decision to make. We showed we r as the gaffer said miles ahead of Aberdeen, we will do well this season based on today. Today showed we need another striker. Need to score more goals

Luke Randall you’re still deluded. Morelos the animal deserved his red card. Rangers should’ve had got a penalty as a rangers player was offside as Arfield attempted a shot on goal. Based on that game you’ll do alright for 3rd. lol ur manger crying already

Gerrard has some guts too say Rangers are a class above us, in this match yes but he meant overall and that hasn't been true for 6 years! And it isn't changing now, also the ref didn't cost Rangers that match, the red card is a red but yes maybe Ball should have been sent off too, but there's nothing wrong with that goal from Anderson. This will be a long hard season for both teams and I know us and Rangers can play better, the Aberdeen fans never gave up hope today, and they never will! COYR🔴⚪️

The pen was pretty soft, although an understandable call, many refs would not have given it. The guy wasn't getting to the ball as he was going down anyway. Other player was offside, therefore no denied goal-scoring opportunity and not a dangerous or cynical foul. Not a red card.

Scottish Tech Enthusiast but do think if it had been 10v10 the game would have played out the same? Rangers would've attacked more, therefore allowing more space in behind for GMS and McGinn. You probably would have won in that scenario but football can always surprise you, like a 19 year old scoring in the 93rd minute!

Scottish Tech Enthusiast he was going down anyway. That's why it is soft, but I am happy to accept that many refs would have given it (other's would not!) He was not however in obvious control of the ball, and there is no guarantee the other player would not have reached it first (or he would have reached it at all, as he had a fair amount of ground to cover - hence he went down so easily in the first place); nor that the other guy wouldn't have otherwise interfered with play from an offside position. There were also more defenders between windarse and the goal - whether they would have got there or not is equally debatable. But that's the thing, there are three or four possible scenarios only one of which leads to a shot on goal: *NOT* a clear goalscoring opportunity, not a red card.
