I just adore your videos. It makes everything so easy to understand. I am taking my clinicals to become a Dental Assistant and I am also going to school as a Respiratory Therapist, and I am now continuing my clinicals at a very bust hospital in Richmond va, and your videos just help me to refresh on a lot of things. I have watched your videos on the heart, and learning the conduction of the heart. I appreciate all that you do. Thank you so much.
+josahn harris Oh wow! Thank you so much, Josahn! I truly appreciate your very kind words about my videos...means a lot to me. That is so awesome you are completing clinicals to become a dental assistant and then going to become a RT. You go!! I'm honored I could help you refresh on the material. I wish you the absolute best in your studies :) Thank you again for your comment!
+millyandb Thank you so much! I appreciate your comment :) I remember learning about ABGs in nursing school and the Tic Tac Toe method helped me so much....glad it can help you as well. I wish you the best in nursing school :)
Today I got my quick results saying I passed. I'm still in shock and disbelief. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your videos and free quizzes were wonderful and what you are doing for nursing students is truly amazing. GD bless you. Thank you so very much
CONGRATS, Dina! I'm so very happy for you! THANK YOU for using my videos and quizzes to help you prep. I'm very humbled and honored that they helped you. I wish you the best in your new career as a nurse :) Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment.
Just learned this at school, walked out totally lost! After watching my girl registered nurse RN sara break it down on this video; I have been found! I see the light lol! Alleluia, thank God for registered nurse rn sara! God blessed her! Thank you 🙏
Thank you dear so much. I do not have this down completely yet but i already feel much better after watching this video. I appreciate this so much and will watch all your other vids as well. Thank you thank you thank you.😁
GREAT VIDEOOOO! idk if this would help but my lecturers taught us to write the normal values down pH (7.35 - 7.45), HCO3 (22 - 26) but for PCO2 write it as 45 - 35 (rather than 35 - 45), that way everything towards the left would be acidotic and anything towards the right would be alkalotic :D
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! YOURE ARE THE REASON I PASSED MY ABG/ELECTROLYTE EXAM TODAY! Even when I didn’t get it when my instructor showed us I understood it so well with your videos!!! Once again Ty! I was so worried about this unit!
When the professor explained ABG to the class I was so confused. After watching this video and applying the method, I finally got it!! Thank you. I took the quiz and I got 100!
You’re such a good teacher. Youexplain it plain and simple. Thanks for sharing your knowledge , I’ve been a nurse for 20+ years and this is like a refresher course for me😅
I don't typically leave comments, however this video was SO helpful to me!!! I am currently in school to become a Respiratory Therapist and was a little unclear on this concept earlier in the week. My friend recommended your video to me!!! I'm now subscribed haha thank you! Andrea
Thank you so much for the awesome comment, Andrea! I appreciate it! I'm very happy I could help you understand ABGs. The tic tac toe method saved me a lot during exams lol! I wish you the best in the RT program :) Again, thank you for watching the video and for the comment!
Sarah thank you SO much for all of your videos. I've recently graduated nursing school in December, 2019. You were a lifesaver throughout my entire nursing program! You made everything make sense! This has been one of my weaknesses, being able to determine if the ABG values were uncompensated, compensated or partially compensated. You just made it so easy for me to remember using this tic tac toe method. Thank you so much!!
I just had my nursing fundamentals final and was drawing tic tac toe boards on the scrap paper for every ABG question. Finding your channel was the turning point of my semester and I have a feeling I will be revisiting it many more times until I submit my last NCLEX question. Thank you for making a difference !
+Victoria Beata Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and let me know how you liked the video. I appreciate it so much! I wish you the best in med school :) -Sarah
Thank you so much Sarah! I never learned this in my LPN, now that I'm in school for RN I was really frustrated about ABGs. I was able to learn it well after your video and even showed it to some classmates. Thank you SO much!!!!!!
+Wayne Ethier Awesome! Yes, ABGs drove me crazy at first in nursing school, but after I learned the TIC TAC TOE method it became very easy! I'm so happy I could help you understand it better. Thanks for sharing the video with your classmates :) I wish the best for you in nursing school and hope my channel/website can continue to help you are your journey of becoming a RN.
hi just a question. just in case they give you an abg result that is fully compensated meaning ph is normal.. pco2 is acidic and hco3 is basic.. how will i know if its metabolic or respi..or is that even possible..or they will need to give me a condition or disease so i can decide if its metabolic or respi..
Hello :) I have a whole series on fluid and electrolytes where I breakdown lab values. You can access them here: ru-vid.com/group/PLQrdx7rRsKfWJSZ9pL8L3Q1dzdlxUzeKv Thank you for watching my videos :)
Thank you so much for this! I really struggled with this in nursing school. Once I found your video, ABGs were a snap! Blessings to you and your great teaching. I have now graduated, but wanted to come back and thank you!
I'm a Lab Rat oldie, and just whizzed by your vlog! Very cool and I got it right away, by the Way! Nice to see my brain isn't totally dead Yet! I have Macular Degeneration both types in my eyes, and can't work anymore. I miss the medical field greatly and enjoyed your tic-tac-toe toe method!
Thank you so much for the very kind comment, Linda :) I really appreciated it! I'm glad you liked the video and the tic-tac-toe method in solving ABGs. I know this method saved me a lot during school lol. Again, thank you for taking the time to leave this comment!
As a mature-age nursing student here in Australia, I've found the 'chemistry' quite hard to get a handle on, but this little video has turned the lights on for me! Thank you for explaining this so clearly. I'm going to get the ABG questions RIGHT in the exam for sure! :)
+Janine Howe Thank you so much for your comment, Janine :) It is so awesome you're from Australia...very neat to see that my video is been viewed all the way over there. I'm so glad I could help you understand this material better. Best wishes in your studies!
Oh my goodness, you've done it again! Trying to wrap my head around ABG analysis-- before this video--had me questioning my choice of completing a nursing program (as a nontraditional student). I humbly thank you. You're the GREATEST!
+Mo Mishan Wow! Thank you so much for this awesome comment...you're the greatest :) Glad I could help you under ABGs....the tic tac toe method definitely makes it easier. Hang in there...you will be happy you stayed with it!
Thank you for so many of your videos that have helped me through Paramedic. You have a knack for bringing complex topics into common language. I'm a firefighter and Paramedic has been kicking my butt. Just a whole different realm of thinking. Thank you for your time/efforts. Two thumbs waaay up!
Thank you very much for taking the time to watch the video and for leaving this kind comment. I'm so glad you liked the video. I wish you the best with Paramedic School!
Thank god for this woman! I have had the hardest time with these. Today in class no one was getting these. I felt like a total idiot. But this little tic tac toe method has saved my life. Thanks girl!
I'm gonna take my NCLEX soon and currently reviewing. This is one of my not-so-favorite topics because I suck at analyzing it. But this woman makes everything easier.
Thank you so very much Sarah. I am watching your videos and i am understanding the material my professors are teaching. I am sharing our videos with classmates and they love it to. Do you have any videos on HTN? May god continue you bless. Lakesha
+Lakesha Harrison Hi Lakesha :) Thank you so much for taking the time to share my video with your classmates and leave me a comment. I'm so happy I could help you understand this material. I don't have any videos on HTN, but would love to make one for you if you could tell me specifically what you would like to learn. Are you wanting an NCLEX focus on HTN, nursing interventions, patho, pharmacology focuses etc? Thanks again for your comment :)
Thanks for watching the video! Please check out my videos on acid-base imbalances (metabolic and respiratory acidosis/alkalosis) for a full explanation on compensated and fully compensated. I go into the patho and how it affects the body. It is rather in depth and too much to write here in the comment section. Also, at the end of each video I go over an ABG problem and talk about how to tell if it is partially or fully compensated. Here are the videos (vids 4-7 in the playlist): ru-vid.com/group/PLQrdx7rRsKfWJSZ9pL8L3Q1dzdlxUzeKv
You're very welcome :) That is how I thought ABG interpretation was like before I learned the Tic Tac Toe method as well. I'm so glad I could help! Best wishes in your studies! THANK YOU for the kind comment :)
This video is the best thing that could have ever happened to my understanding on ABG interpretation. I'm in graduate school and its only now that I FULLY understand this concept.
+Tenille Farria Wow, thank you so much for your very kind comment, Tenille! I'm so happy I could help you understand ABGs better :) I wish you the best in graduate school! -Sarah
Thank you so much! You have no idea the trouble I have had trying to wrap my head around this - lecturers, students everyone has tried and all I have wound up with is a tumble weed and a cricket in my head - you are a life saver!
Yay! I'm so happy I was able to help you learn ABGs. This material can be so confusing, but the Tic Tac Toe method makes it super easy. Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment. I wish you the absolute best in your studies :)
That means you probably have full compensation. Watch this video to understand ABG compensation: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h7wpD95602A.html
This video is just awesome! My professor trying to explain how to do this method in class so many times but I was so confused. Now it's crystal clear. Thanks so much!!!
