@@Sunnyfield323 ROME: The Opposite or Equal is in reference to the pH. For example, in Respiratory alkalosis when the pH is High then the carbon dioxide CO2 is Low and the compensatory effect is Low bicarbonate HCO3- so Opposite from the high pH. However, in metabolic alkalosis when pH is High then HCO3- is High and to compensate CO2 will also be High, so they are all Equally High.
I have been trying to get my head around this for over a week, then I stumble across this video and everything becomes crystal clear in 5 minutes. God save you!!
Pure Genius ! I love your videos Doc ! Never came across so precise and strikingly informative vidoes that are to the point that sit in ur head ! Can't thank you enough ! :)
This got me so confused at the beginning because I kept asking myself how is it that we keep producing increased hydrogen when CO2 increases but yet we are going down in Ph. But once I realized that Ph is measured in 1x10^-ph. Now it made sense because naturally when you decrease something raised to a negative power it would increase it. Thank you for this video!
Hi Dr. I am a strength and conditioning and research exercise science student. Just wanted to say that you have an incredible way of making things a bit difficult relatively easy. Thanks again for the videos. A pleasure to watch. Kind regards,
I have grade nine education and somehow ended up in college at 66 years old learning to be a MLAT. you have no idea how easy you just made this for me. I was nearly crying in class today realizing how much i have no idea what my teacher was teaching. thank you thank you and hope something nice happens for you that you never knew you wanted .

Dr.Mike and Dr.Mate I really appreciate your way of delivering the subject. The topic becomes so easy and absorbing and more interesting to understand. Dr.TARIQ IQBAL
Thank you that was very helpful, I've always struggled with Respiratory/Metabolic Acidosis/Alkalosis. ^^ Now to find a video that can help me remember examples of each type...
