I was LITERALLY in tears last night after Abi's name was announced. I was so frickin happy I've been rooting for her since the get-go. I knew she could do it! From Indio-Palm Springs Cathedral City the whole town was ROOTING for her! Great reaction! Can't wait for more! ❤

Loved her from her audition! That’s what made me watch this season…I haven’t watched the last few years! This year was best top 10 ever! She was a standout and I love her humility. Pure talent!❤

I agree with you all. Outside of Abi, not sure I'm watching the show at all this season. I did NOT care for Will or Jack or any of the other contestants. I rarely watched them perform, but when Abi came on I watched, recorded and watched many times on you tube. I LOVED Dennis reactions to. They were PRICELESS and he felt just like I did. We both loved her as she brought chills to our spines when she sang.

Thank you for the whole 9 yards. Abi is such a phenomenal young lady. She IS THE proverbial girl next door. The hate and long swords have come out today that the result was fixed. So happy to see a real performer and vocalist win. Over the past number of years, I feel that the winner was not the best of that class. This time, America did get it right.

I 100% love Abi Carter. If I could wish her to become Superstar I would. I was also happy with Iam Tongi winning last year. He doesn't have the vocal range that Abi has but like Abi he connected with his audience.

Yes, Abi and Julia Gagnon were roommates during the competition and became close friends. they filmed each other, goofing off together, playfully mocking hate comments and rooting for each other on social media. I was rooting for Julia but really got invested and intrigued by Abi's Bring Me to Life performance and have been rooting for her since. It's interesting that last year had the friendship of Iam and Oliver, this year it was Abi and Julia.

I think she was already the favorite after the audition but after her first song in the final when the crowd went crazy for her and she had to wipe away tears…to me that was the decisive moment where she had won it all. The vote was almost like just a formality.

By the way I looked back at previous finales with Lionel, Katy and Luke they never held hands and closed their eyes before this one. What does that tell you? You all know the answer to that. They were clearly praying for Abi to win. Their reactions after she won tell it all.

Somewhere is from West Side Story, one of the greatest musical theater productions of all time. Barbara Streisand does an amazing cover of it as well.

Spectacular performance. I can't think of how "Bed Of Roses" goes either, I would have to look it up on RU-vid. Somewhere is my favorite song from West Side Story, yes based on a Broadway play. It's a modern adaptation of Romeo And Juliet, I had to watch it for Junior High School English class. The original Broadway stars a young Elizabeth Taylor and Natalie Wood stars in the 1961 movie. The 2021 remake was directed by Steven Spielberg. Both are great movies. I didn't recognize that last song she sang, I'm sure I had never heard it before. Hopefully she has some good guidance on her sudden stardom, people will try everything to get her money.

I'm sorry, but what? Elizabeth Taylor? You could look it up; Carol Lawrence played Maria in the original cast. Maria was of course supposed to be Puerto Rican, so badly miscast either way, but it was 1957...

You crack me up sometimes... in a good way. "This sounds like Broadway?" West Side Story was one of the biggest Broadway hits ever. As to how close the vote was, probably pretty close. Country music has a large following, and they vote as a bloc.

Abi did an amazing job but listen to Barbara streisand sing it, it's on RU-vid, it's from westside story, a very famous musical, and it has been made into a movie at least twice. This isn't over is her original song.

Dennis, yes this was Abis latest new single, and Idol ONLY let her sing only half her new song which was BS. She is trying to promote her new music and Idol ONLY gives her the opportunity to sing half her new song 😤 They screwed up BAD. This was a chance for her to promote her work. There were many comments about it being a short song. UNBELIEVABLE!

I do not use the word superstar ok, and why because there are many levels of stars, being superstar is at the very top. Which for me are bands like the beatles , pink floyd, led zeppelin and so on. There are very few if any that has reached the status of a lot of the 70s 80s and maybe 90s bands. Now the other problem is todays singers and groups are a lot weaker than tose bands back in the era's i mentioned. Night and day when live performing , band back in the day just put shows on that blew your mind . They were better musicians because they had to do it all. I do not consider any one a musician unless you can play an instrument well , and sing well and finally write music well. If you cannot write , then you or y9ur band will fail. Todays artist have one maybe two good songs on a album. Where back in the day every song on the album was amazing. Finally the recording labels are crooks now more than ever. There are so many evil people in the music business today. Its not about what you want its about money. I wish Abi all the luck in the world i picked her also from her audition but it takes getting very lucky or having something really different that people will gravitate towards you. Congrats Abi Carter
