We understand.. self doubt.. surrender to a higher power.. the agony and hope of losing someone. SHE gave this to us.

When I heard that she’s doing My Chemical Romance song, I was like Oh Man, not only that is one of my favorite songs of all time, it’s also risky because Gerard Way is an unbelievable singer and someone you don’t normally touch but Abi, I love what you did with that song and you are the one to beat in this competition! A truly outstanding performance and you gotta be in the Top 14 after that!

She sang well but this arrangement was wild to follow and kinda jarring tbh.

Judging by these comments, am I the only person on earth who didn’t like this rendition? There’s so many dynamics and energy in the original, and this just drains it all away. The iconic build up, the gripping tension, the musicality of the incredible resolution to that tension-it’s just gone here. I get it, it’s supposed to be “raw” and “vulnerable” but it’s simply just worst. The run at 1:05 is just irritating to me, I hate when people try to outdo the original by adding annoying and unnecessary vocal gymnastics to try and impress, that just sound so out of place. So many people do that on these shows, and it’s especially prevalent this season. I hate when people take such iconic and memorable songs, and change the melodies and vocal rhythms, because every little change is noticeable and amplified and usually it doesn’t work and it just bothers me. Her technical ability is great and she is a very good singer, but this was just bad to me. Ps at 1:57-2:01 she sounds exactly like imogen heap in hide and seek.

Best performance of the season so far, and her best performance of the season! Abi can sing the phonebook and I would instantly love it. She never disappoints and knows how to give wow moments. That was just perfection and flawless. I loved everything about this. She deserves to win the show. I love every single performances she does. She is someone I will never give constructive criticisms to. I fully expect her to get the most views and likes on RU-vid.

Again, the showstopper performance. And Katy with the “mic. drop!” She sings so beautifully in her upper register, and when she sang that run that dived into her lower register, I, too, dropped the mic for Abi. That was ethereal; it was phenomenal. She’s heading right to the finish line. Still have a handful of talented singers that I’m rooting for, but Abi, in my mind, is the front runner.
