Answering your questions: 1. They are from Japan, based in Tokyo, even though only Fami the bassist is actually from Tokyo. Asami the singer is from Sapporo, Midori the shredded blonde guitarist (two silver medals in body fitness competitions) is from a city on the island of Shikoku that used to be called Kagawa and is now part of the city of Takamatsu, Miyako the dark-haired guitarist and pianist is from Osaka (and has the accent to prove it, I am told), and Haruna the drummer is from Shizuoka, a city to the southwest of Tokyo. They came together in 2016 and already in 2018 won an award for best new band from Metal Hammer, one of the most important metal publications. (Others will fill in more details.) 2. All their songs are in English except for one very early version of a song called Bravehearted. That was a conscious decision, as they very consciously play European styles of metal (except for their thrash, which owes more to American bands Metallica, Slayer, and Testament) rather than the often rather poppy Japanese style. 3. Yes, Asami was wearing contacts. I won't say there are no Japanese people at all with blue eyes, but they must be very rare and have some recent foreign intermixture. 4. Asami's singing is often compared to Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden or she is called a female Bruce Dickinson. I think that is a fair comparison. Some in the band are Iron Maiden fans, and she may have studied Dickinson when she was asked to sing in a metal band, something that she had no prior experience in. 5. I don't really have a favorite band member. When you have been a fan for years like I have been and had opportunity to see what each member brings to the band and how they act and interact, I like them all for what they are and what they bring to the table. That said, I may have a soft spot for Asami (the vocalist), who not only is terribly nice (I had a brief interaction with her in person), but also has come a long way from being the R'n'B bar singer and rock background singer that she used to be before Lovebites. She was asked to join on the strength of a demo tape and had no experience with metal: now she co-writes or writes half of their songs, writes all the lyrics, writes some of their heaviest songs to boot, has come to like especially thrash metal, and has visibly grown in confidence and frontwomanship since their earliest concerts in 2017/2018. Especially in live videos from the last two years, she has a sort of elegant and charming but authoritative presence. It helps that she never fell into the trap to try to act "metal". But I like the others too. They are all super talented. Haruna the drummer shows that you can be both cute and shy and a real metalhead. Miyako is a talented pianist in addition to guitarist and writes the other half of their songs; she is the cool, controlled one. Midori the blonde guitarist is the badass one. Fami the bassist is their second bassist, is still very young (22) and is a bundle of charm and energy on stage. (Their first bassist, Miho, left in 2021 for personal or maybe artistic reasons, it's not entirely clear; most of the clips you'll find will still have Miho, as she played on three of their four albums and three of their four EPs.) Welcomed to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. These Japanese women are extremely talented, skillful and exceptional versatile musicians. Their live performances are just outstanding. Their main influences are the great metal bands of the past but they have been developing their own and unique style. About a month ago they finished their tour in Asia, Europe and, for the very first time, in the USA. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in a little more than seven years. Miyako (black hair guitarist) is also a concert level classical pianist, trained since 3 years old. My next recommendations are “The hammer of wrath”, “Set the world on fire” (live) or, for a softer style “Liar”, “Empty daydream” (live)

Congratulations on discovering Lovebites. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist, after their founder and original bassist left the band for personal reasons. Asami (a-sa-mi)- Lead Singer - She lived in America for a number of years to learn English. All songs by Lovebites are sung in English. Midori (mi-do-ri)- Lead Guitar (Left) - During the band's hiatus, she entered into a body building competition, hence the reason for her huge forearms. Miyako (mi-ya-ko)- Guitar/Piano/Composer/Lyricist (Right) - She is a classically trained piainist for 2 thirds of her life and insanely talented. Fami (fa-mi)- Bassist - She is the newest member of the band, replacing former bassist and founder of the band: Miho. Fami has her own youtube channel covering songs, mostly on her bass. Welcome to the Glorious World of LOVEBITES. They are compared to other bands but there is only a band with all members being top notch like LOVEBITES. They have 3 songs released with the letter E many call the 3E. Edge of the World, Empty Daydream and Epilogue are masterpieces because of the lyrics, length and musical skills by everyone in the group. Welcome to Lovebites, the Wolfpack 🐺 Lovebites fans around the world, will be along to give you information and recommendations. Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects. Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the bassist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string) The present members are, Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker. Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE. Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman. Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos. Fami, Bacchus Bass. Recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens. Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed. All members of the band can play piano/keyboards. They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023. The ladies really shine on stage. I saw Lovebites live in London twice during their recent European tour. I have been a fan of Rock and Metal music right from the beginning seeing bands bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Iron Maiden when they were 'new', Lovebites are amongst the best I have ever seen in over 60 years 🤘🐺

Welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥 Here some information about them: The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album both were released in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have already released 4 full length studio albums, 4 EPs, a best of compilation and a bunch of live albums, available on CD/DVD/Blu-ray. In 2018 LOVEBITES won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band. LOVEBITES have toured in Europe back in 2018/2019 and also recently in 2024. This also includes appearances at most European major metal festivals such as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop, Resurrection Fest and Hellfest. They also played their first US shows this year in September. In 2021 the band went into a hiatus, because founder and bassist Miho quit the band for personal reasons. During the break also two babies were born. LOVEBITES came back in October 2022 with new bassist Fami and a few months later with new album „Judgement Day“. Their newest release is „LOVEBITES EP II“ with 5 amazing new songs. Asami the singer reminds me more of Ronnie James Dio than Bruce Dickinson but she is so much more imo. Small in stature yet as powerful as a Freight Locomotive. Haruna the drummer may be the most aggressive percussionist I have ever heard. Her iso tracks reveal insane cymbal work on the God Level and highly intricate up tempo skin work with laser precision.

LOVEBITES They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans. They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM, heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal,hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces, funk and even punk. In terms of pure musicianship, LOVEBITES are in the top three metal bands on the planet. The only two other metal bands that have the collective talent to play LOVEBITES entire catalogue is Dream Theater and Symphony-X (because a keyboardist is needed who can play classical piano). As good as their music videos are, you really need to see their live videos to fully appreciate the level of talent these women possess.

Welcome to the amazing world of Lovebites! My favorite band of all time. They are amazing. You should check out a few live performances from them. Their videos are great, but they are so impressive and entertaining live. They play a few different genre of metal, thrash and power mostly, but they have some great ballads. Asami has an R&B background, and her voice is really full and surprisingly rich and even a bit husky in her midtones, but she can belt way up there like there's no tomorrow. Some songs with piano bring out her R&B side while others like this one have her soaring like that. That's simply her eyes and not contacts, but the video may have some filters. They're all petite! The drummer(Haruna) is 4'9" The singer(Asami) is 4"10" The blond guitarist(Midori) is 4'10" The dark haired guitarist(Miyako) is 5'2" and the bassist(Fami) is the tallest at 5'4" Her voice is probably reminding you of a female Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden! All their songs are in English!

Miyako is pretty, and nice, I commented on her channel yesterday and she sent me a heart (or more likely some bloke in her office did) 😄

Welcome to the realm of a phenomenal metal band 'Lovebites'. They play various genres of metal music such as heavy, thrash, power/speed, prog, neo-classical, classic, hard/pop rock, power ballad, blues..etc. 5 super talented women from Japan. 60+ songs produced and there's no bad song.
