Abilene Police K9 Demonstration 

Smarter than many humans ❤

Growing up as a military dependent overseas & living on military bases I met many, many K9's that worked with the military police officers that patroled the perimeter fences of the bases. Those dogs were so incredible & so well behaved. I fell in love with dogs because of those K9 military police dogs.

What a really great program for those kids in that school to see, hear about, and get all giggly over Tipp's toy. I was a teacher for many years. Though I taught high school science, wherever they are and whatever their ages, kids are kids. More appropriately, people are people -- and we've all loved a doggo or three in our lives. Mostly, the vast majority of us don't really know much about the work that working dogs do, which is why classroom visits by dogs such as Tipp - one among many in the worldwide cadre of highly trained, incredibly disciplined, and super-intelligent canine police officers - are always so welcome.

What a great experience for those kids! I have a rescued German Shepherd x Malinois and I can see some behavioural traits that he shares with Tip. He has so much energy and I feel that, in an ideal world, he would have been a working dog. Thanks for sharing this video.

Scent detection is amazing..explosives alone has a million different ones, even human odors, you have live, dead, decomposing..you can train your pet at home too, any dog, any age..

I say no to police dogs. If you can't be a police officer without police dogs, you shouldn't be a police officer. Find something else to do. Putting these poor dog's in harms way, shame on allowing you. 👎 👎
