Thank you very much for these videos. I've been working through them one by one, taking notes and trying to apply some of the things you're mentioning. I'm a total beginner, so the videos really help with breaking down the instruments, effects, etc. and what they do. I've got a question about using drum racks VS using samples in separate tracks like we did in the "What We've Learned So Far" video: Would you normally use a drum rack when writing the percussion part of a track or would you do what we did in the video, i.e. put the kick into a separate track, put the clap into a separate track, etc. and then group them? Is there anything the drum rack can't do that I would only be able to achieve by creating separate tracks for the samples?

Thanks million times Mr. Sadowick. I slowly started to giving-up learning the Ableton Live but your demonstration and "teaching" convinced me to continue. I came from 10 years of using Reaper so Live is not easy to understand for me...

Hi. Mapping the Channel EQ to Macros doesn't work for me. A right click doesn't give me the same dropdown menu. I suppose I could hit 'map' and assign Macros that way. Your way seems easier. Perhaps I'm overlooking something...

Can't I just drag a drumkit into a cell of session view and it will play exactly like the preview? And then see the pattern play in the drum rack automatically with all the same sounds as the preview? Or do I have to always build from scratch with the piano roll?

Hi, I made a simple pattern. Now, how do I actually put the pattern into a specific point in my song? After I can't hear it integrated into the song when I press 'play' . Also, how do I change the tempo of my drum beat to match the tempo in my song?

I had a question about the drum rack. for some reason when i try separating the tracks .it doesn't say the instrument name it just says drum rack is their a way I could fix this?

Enjoying the vids but I'm stuck on this one (Tutorial 13) at around 3:50. When I drag the kick sample into a Drum Rack Pad I don't get a Simpler with the Kick waveform as you demonstrate but an 8 knob Device like an loaded up Macro. I do get the Simpler view like you demonstrate when I select the Drum Rack pad and double click the Kick Sample in the Browser and Group it to a Drum Rack. Problem is when I try to add a second sample (the Clap) in the same manner the Clap Sample doesn't stay in the second Drum Rack pad but replaces the Kick Sample in the first slot. Is this a limitation of Ableton Lite or am I missing something? Thanks for the videos!

What tool are you using to be able to draw on the screen like that?

At 19:04 when I load the EQ Eight audio effect in to the rack, the "Audio To "dropdown is grayed out and I cannot select the Rack Output. Any idea why that might be? Love the vids!
