Still looking for the sign off from the early 80s, Sydney by night to Deodato’s jazz version of Pavanne for a Dead Princess. Moody stuff.

Well, for an example here in italy, RAI - the only broadcaster at the time - was in colour officially only in 1978. So yup, it still was something new for someone.

Funny that ABC still felt the need to advertise the fact that they were in colour in 1979.

We'd only had colour since 1975....

10.45 pm was quite early for an ABC closedown back then. ABC used "Majestic Fanfare" for its news broadcasts on radio and TV until 1985 or so on the TV end, and it might still be used in some form on the radio side. And that song heard at the end of "I'd Do it All Again" was "Falling in Love with Only You" by Christie Allen (1954-2008).

There's actually a gong at the end? How come I haven't heard it on the other videos that have the same version of the national anthem?

Yeah and it wasn't until the mid 90s that the ABC started 24/7 Transmission.
