Me at every party, sending beer flying everywhere as I gesture wildly: “I don’t think you understand. They have *muscles* where the muscles *shouldn’t* go.”
Man, the lip sync at 0:15 was so smooth that I had accidently unplugged my headphones while watching this and could still hear Travis saying "abnimals" by reading his lips.
comments made me go back and pay attention to the actual animation itself beyond the bit, and damn, this is so fucking good. the different shots and the pan across the projector + the lighting was all super cool. this felt cinematic kinda bc it like. felt like a whole story. like good will hunting but abminals.
The imagery of strung-out academic / misunderstood genius Travis throwing the papers and kneeling in awe at his own realisation about animals with abs in 90s popular culture is so, so choice.
@@DimT670which ones don’t? Street sharks, battle toads, biker mice, all pretty abbed up. I don’t think Mighty Ducks or WWCOWBOMM all wear shirts that don’t show abs, I think, but they could be in there.
1:33 Justin's "... his brain does not function like many other popular brains you might be aware of" is my go-to description of neurodiversity from now on.
i was so excited to add microexpressions!! thank you for noticing! i think i learned the concept from an episode of “lie to me” or even the Mentalist and the idea never left me
This is legitimately breathtaking. Your brain doesn't function like a lot of popular brain I might be familiar with, because I couldn't get inspiration like this from abnimals
I love how you depicted Travis getting frustrated by lack of understanding, packing all of his reference material hastily into his briefcase, throwing on his overcoat, and Storming out of the building. Only to be tempted to passionately dive into discussing his hyper-fixation throwing all his research into the wind in a dramatic epiphany moment. What a genuine masterpiece
MIserere mei. In a meme animation. Love it. Can't stand it. Love it. (Also the story you created visa context in the animation shows absolutely OUTSTANDING sensibility for story through animation!)
i love your ability to use frames for the animatic and like... real time tracking(????) for the film projection and griffin looking at the film. it's incredible and i don't think i've seen it done before
I am absolutely speechless! this is such a stunning animation - and also one of my fave recent bits by the boys. This is so glorious that I can foresee myself watching it a hundred more times (this week)
you are just... by far the best mbmbam animatic creator. and yall know dbi and geo kick so much ass but like. even if you weren't already a great animator, your creative decisions in all of your videos are just so powerful, ive never seen someone run with source material so hard like this
I am on my 7th (and not last) time though this for the first time starting watching it... While listening to the original bit, I was in stitches, but your animation/animatic style and the homages smattered through just add so fucking much to an already all-time hilarious bit for me that I can't stop myself. Fucking BRAV-O! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
oh my gosh this is AMAZING animation!!! i came for silly mbmbam but i couldnt even focus on their words i was just too focused on admiring the art!!! fantastic work
Oh shit, this is the finished version of the one from the unfinished bit video! I thought I recognized the first part of it, I was surprised that it's so new, but turns out parts of it aren't new to me, since I saw the other video!
The funniest thing is he's 100% right about the abnimals, every cartoon I watched as a kid (and even the power rangers, for some reason they adjusted the sentai suits to give them abs for the movies) are just X with Abs and 90's teen 'attitude' (read: mall shopping, pizza and roller skates)
Wow you are such a talented animator. The use of space, creating the scenes out of the silly audio, the sheer creativity to turn abnimals bit into a college proffesor on the brink of either duscovery or madness. Wow, just really impressive
