Abnormal Pap Smear & Colposcopy // My Experience 

I am so glad you have talked about this subject! I work in an odgyn clinic and I feel so bad for my girls that have to get repeat paps and colpos, not for the actual procedure but I feel bad for the anxiety after getting their abnormal result. I haven't had the actual procedure but I see at least one a day at work. In general women's health is always on the down low and I wish it just wasn't that way. Thank you for being brave and sharing your experience.

I just had a colposcopy and several biopsies, I was so scared and nervous about it, it hurt like the doctor pinched me inside and after the procedure I had bad cramps, it was a very traumatic experience. I already talked to a nurse about my results but she just told me there is nothing that requires urgent medical care, that make feel good, but I’m going to see my doctor in about two weeks to talk more clear about this, I’m praying so everything is perfect in my body 🙏🏻

I am so nervous right now this made me feel so better. People just making me feel like I was overeacting

When I was 12wks pregnant I had my smear done and it came back with low grade changes, then the following year when my daughter was 6 months old I had another follow up and it too came back low grade changes so I was sent off for a colposcopy, was some months I think before I got my appointment.... must of been a good year almost. I remember being so scared of having cancer my Ex didnt really care much thought I was over reacting but its scary..!! You do worry about why suddenly something has changed. Mine came back with the end of having HPV so I had HPV but it was healing..?? Throw in that I also was going through the stages of being diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis...so I had ALOT going on with my health. My last smear 2yrs ago was clear, and just had one today (over due by a year, will need another in a year and if both are clear I can go back to every 3yrs). Surprising enough been having smears done for 10yrs now..!

It was scary too im waiting for four weeks yo see the results. I hate them saying “. Nothing wrong it is common. “How dre they say that. I have familyhistory. Ovarian nCancer.or cervix. Im glad you share with us !

Thank you for your video. I am going in for my first one next month. my pap results came back high grade squamous and 3 years ago it was low grade. I am scared nervous.I also found out tonight that I have blod clots in my uterus. I hope everything came back ok with you

I also had an abnormal pap result and it came back with high grade lesions which really scared the life outta me.. the recommended that I have the leep procedure which is basically a hot wire shaving off part of my cervix that is damaged with abnormal cells. The day of the procedure I was told they couldn't do it bc I was pregnant and I would bleed out a lot if they did attempt it. So now I'm like 22wks and really anxious bc there is a greater chance of bleeding out during birth as well as this actually progressing toward cancer bc the hormones are accelerated so I'm totally scared for both me and the baby... but this video helped just to kinda show me that I'm not alone and that having an abnormal pap can really happen to anyone.. I think when you first get the news you kinda feel a little dirty and like your sexual partner had done you wrong by passing it along to you but it helps to know that it is very common and that it's not always the guys fault just bc there's no hpv test for men so really you just have to b careful no matter what... good luck with your results either way and thanks for opening a forum for women to talk about this kinda thing bc it really is not spoken of often and that can make anyone feel alone, when in reality, your not alone and it happens very often to even the "cleanest" of women...

Thankyou for doing this video I have my first colposcopy soon and I'm terrified as my smear test really hurt this time and normally they don't hurt at all I have been told I have a borderline result from my smear test

I went through the same thing. After colposcopy result they booked me in to LET operation ( some sort of laser to burn all that abnormal tissue) wish I have to wait for 3 months because so many woman have this same problem(It was a long queue) after the operation haven't heard from them since. I wish you all the best nothing to worried about Its best they find it sooner. I hope you understand my english It's my second language, Hope that make sense :)

You all don't be scared I had mines today only difference from a pap smear is that the clamps are in longer it's not so much pain but pressure

I know this video is 3 months old but I hope you're doing okay! I went through the exact same thing (although my diagnosis was different) and it took me 9 months and 3 colpos & paps before my last pap finally came back normaI (my biopsies were always normal but he took them each time) hope yours doesn't take that long or that your ob will fix it :) OBs are so wonderful with staying on top of abnormal paps

Just had this procedure done yesterday. They said my pap smear came back with abnormal cells. I had 2 spots that they took for biopsy. Waiting on my results. Very nerve wracking. I hate the waiting.

Thanks for sharing. I'm having a colposcopy on Wednesday, I just have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that this will not be good result.

What was it like getting the biopsy? did it hurt? I read an article from this girl recently who said she was screaming as the doctor cut out half her cervix (I feel like she was lying or exaggerating though.)
