As an American, I'll say this: Each state is almost like an individual country. From state to state, demographics, popular beliefs, religions, resources, etc. vary greatly. Because of that, each state is permitted, per the Constitution, to legislate for their respective people, so long as the laws dont contradict laws previously legislated by the federal government. This allows states to tailor laws that best fit the popular desires of the residents of each state. This is preferred because America is so big and diverse, so people in California generally live differently than people in, for example, Missouri or Tennessee. Now, with the overturning of Roe v. Wade, thats exactly what this did - put the determination of legality of abortions back with the states (i.e. the hands of the people). This is the opposite of tyranny. This is what living in a free nation, and a Republic, is like. Now, states that generally approve of abortions may still make them legal in their states, while other states, where the majority of people generally disapprove of abortions, may ban them or allow them only under special circumstances. This is nothing to fight about and has largely been exaggerated.
If a woman can avoid taking care a child through having an abortion without the consent of the father then a father should be able to avoid taking care a child through child support without the consent of a woman. 🤷🏾♂️
The problem with Black Americans is that the moment a black person doesn't do what they want, they start using racist epithets against the person then complain when other people treat them as a monolith. Diversity of thought is so threatening. Why?
Okay, we are angry. Now what? How about we tell the government they need to pay for ALL our medical bills. If they are taking over my body then pay my bills.
@@obrandondonaldson1208 Yes, because Roe should have NEVER been decided the way it was. This reversal is 100% proper. They did exactly what they were supposed to do, rule on the law and constitution. COPE

Are we allowed to say "woman" now? As in a "woman's right" to choose? The woke zealots said we can't use the word "woman" anymore, so that means we can't talk about "women's rights" anymore. Or are we flip flopping back to "man" and "woman" again? Please tell me so I can know how to think politically correctly.
So glad somebody is calling out the Establishment Democrats and their dumb response. I feel like I am watching a slow-motion train wreck and there's nothing I can do to stop it.
I promise that if I am ever on a jury for an abortion case, there will be no conviction. There will be a hung jury at least. I hope millions more will make the same promise.
@@lgbtsrgro0mrs36 on their way to your doorstep now, along with the dead or broken bodies of women who suffered injury or disease from a pregnancy they did not want.
The only hope I see here is a hard mid-term turnout making the filibuster a non-issue.... Not going to hold my breath, the playing field is very stacked and I wonder if the democrats even want it.
@@lgbtsrgro0mrs36 The only babies dying in these situations is when the mother's life is in danger, in a fairly late term. When abortions normally happen in the early stages, no baby is killed since they are not even a person yet. Just a small clump of cells and nothing else.
Let's lay the blame where it truly lies..... With the Electoral College and the misrepresentation of the people via Senators. Without the Electoral College the person with the most votes wins (true democracy) and so Trump would not have been President and could not have appointed three judges. In the Senate the Republicans always represent a minority of the population, that allowed Mitch McConnel unprecedented power to recommend the three judges despite representing the minority of the population. Whatever the Dems do or do not do, this situation is a direct result of the faux democracy of America...
Many Are taking action, sort out which to support for re-election. In my area, a dem congressperson who voted against (Biden’s agenda, continuing covid aid, for the People measures) was defeated in primary. It’s tough tho, national dems campaigned and spent for the incumbent, local dem officials and others supported the challenger. (Same as what was the reasoning dem national meddled in texas primary, that someone anti-abortion pro-guns easier to elect sigh) hoping our Dem candidate wins in Nov., at least we’re not having to vote for the lessor of evils. ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
The problem could be that most democrats try to make everyone happy. They're nice people who are sometimes lazy. While republicans get their agenda done as fast as they can. Even if republicans can't win, they try hard with an aggressive attitude. They know who they're speaking to, and they go for it no matter what. Republicans don't care about the other half of the country, just them. Maybe it's time for dems to do the same.
At this point, you can't convince me that people who are pro life aren't fueled by religious morality. If they were actually concerned about protecting life, they would be able to see
They won't. Like all religious nuts it's theit identity and they think their religion and morals are the superior and right ones. There isn't much you can do without radical pushback.

You should be happy. The majority of Planned Parenthood locations are in minority neighborhoods. It's about killing _us_ off. We are already less than 12% of the population.
I can't believe that a judge that doesn't know the struggle that my mom went through to raise me. Now they are deciding about my body. SMH. There is no way I will listen to s strange person telling me what to do about my body. F***k that
In this shitstorm, I'm proud of seeing the green scarf, emblem of the fight to legalize abortion in my country (Arg), being used as a symbol to defend the same rights in the US.
Man this is just unbelievably against the direction we should be traveling in with peoples rights and constitutional protections. With this backwoods, ignorant approach to law making, one could reason under those thought processes that owning slaves is a constitutional right and that’s just downright ridiculous. It’s tragic what will surely have to come for this to be resolved permanently.
It takes men like you to open your eyes and to stand up for every woman you know. Thank you for saying something. You make a fine point when you say it it tragic to think what will have to happen for this to be reversed. The US is getting too close to the Handmaid's Tale.
Can you clarify how this is a backwards, ignorant approach to constitutional law and how this line of thinking would be used to justify slavery? Because I think you have the issue confused, but I’d like to give you the opportunity to clarify your remarks.
@@austindouglas268 Slavery actually was NOT abolished. The 13th allows for slavery. This is not a joke. Regarding abortion, if control over your own body isn't covered by the 9th, then what is?
The overturn of Roe v Wade ensures that abortion is up to voters... States like Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Utah (who have pre-roe abortion bans) oppose legal abortion by 5-10 percentage points according to 2021 polling from the Public Religion Research Institute. Why force abortion down these states throats? There wasn't a single state on the poll that supported abortion rights that will be effected by the roe v wade overturn because abortion is a protected right in these states! For the record, I am pro-choice for abortion until the end of the first trimester, but believe that abortion should be left on a state basis.
Not to mention when the bodies start piling up due to medical complications and suicide rates. We already have an awful maternal mortality rate as it is.
+1. Not great thinkers or planners- but surely some conservatives have thought about the huge coming increases needed for social services, the reduction in the number of women who can work, or the upcoming crime surge?? They also fear whites becoming the minority in the country. Yet this will most impact communities of color, and increase birth rates in the poorest parts of the country.
I think now that this abortion law has come into effect a lot young men and women will opt for doing operations like tubal litigations and vasectomies, especially if they can't have access to any kind of birth control.
Over half the woman who seek tubals already are told no for many reasons and not one is because of health reasons. And if you happen to be married your husband has a say.
