Don’t take that to heart. As an artist myself I know how easily an artist can get caught up in perfectionism. He’s chasing something that doesn’t exist. Don’t get caught up on his “ideal” RPG. I’m just ready to enjoy the unique differences of his games and new unique games from new directors at From which is what I’m most excited for.
Yeah, and the DLC is the size of Limgrave. Let us no quote the man on anything too practical... Cuz at this point he's lowkey trolling with some of the stuff he says, or is otherwise intentionally obfuscating with his phrasing. He can't make his "ideal RPG" because he can never enjoy going through the games he himself has made, it will always be self-defeating. This is most likely what he meant.

You can have up to 6 friend in the same world and get invaded by other players that see your crew as ghost in their world
4:32 Hell I don’t care if we keep getting the dark fantasy genre, just let us play in and interact that setting in its prime. I’m tired about hearing about all this amazing shit that happened before we showed up, let us experience it first hand.
If they're gonna add bosses in their prime, then they really need to change the player mechanics for once. We all know a Prime boss will always be faster, have crazier moves etc. Dlc Radahn is the closest to that and he pushes the game mechanics to their limits.
Boss replay would be nice smh. The fact that ER doesn't have one but Sekiro does eventhough it's easier to get to bosses in Sekiro is just annoying af.
I get that the medieval everything is dead vibe has been since the beginning, but to me, that is Dark Souls. That is all their games that are all to me, Dark Souls. It's that magical formula of world, NPCs and stories that are all are, Dark Souls.
@@anonisnoone6125 Sure we all love medieval European settings but it gets stale after a while . That is why games like BB and Sekiro felt like a breath of fresh air .
I really liked the tone of abyssal woods in the DLC so imagine they set a whole souls game in that tone using horror fantasy a lot in it to freak you out without any jumpscares
Imagine where humanity would be if gatekeepers kept saying “don’t fix what’s not broken.” Lol elden ring wouldn’t even exist with that dumb philosophy.
@@anonisnoone6125 elaborate on what? The entire idea of dark souls was pioneered by fromsoftware saying fuck you to what traditionally worked. And Elden ring said fuck you to half of dark souls fans that trash talked open world games for decades lol
@@blabla-fw9ixa game set during the fall of mighty dynasty... where immortality is often a curse & blight upon the land... That's certainly not far from dark phantasy, Thematically anyway
Only Fromsoft knows how to deliver a proper Berserk style dark fantasy setting so I absolutely do not want them to shift away from that. If you actually think about it, there aren’t a lot of new games that have this type of theme. I hope they keep on at it regardless of what the next title is
They’ve been doing the exact same thing for 15 years straight and Shadow of the Erdtree was their most mediocre attempt at the same exact thing yet again. They absolutely need to change it up.
I would like to have more "life" around me in a fromsoft game but i rly dont mind the medieval europe setting. I love it. And they cant ignore how much the seamless co op mod improved the multiplayer experience.
Leave the trend chasing to Square. Fromsoft doesn’t need to shake up their formula too much. And I hope they don’t. Their games are so addicting and successful exactly BECAUSE they feel different from everything else.
They definitely to change up their player mechanics. Unless they stop trying to one up their boss difficulty for each game, there's not much else they can do to change up boss design or it'll end up with bosses getting worse.
They absolutely need to change up their formula a bit. There’s like nowhere else to go with the combat, especially the bosses. I think they’ve hit the limit of what can be done with this "roll, roll, roll, attack" type of system
They need to change the formula. Let's not just call it a souls game. I just want them to revisit their older IPs but even if they come up with something new and it has swords it is a must buy. I can hardly stand hack n slash though.
I just hope the fan base doesn’t hold their development evolution hostage…. Like they have been since dark souls. Resulting in every game feeling like a re tread of the other in terms of mechanics. I feel that needs updating because these games feel slower and clunkier than a modern game should. It isn’t dark souls anymore…
@@Haydentrudyjones That’s kinda the point of the combat. If you’re wielding a colossal great sword, then it should FEEL like you’re wielding a colossal great sword. If the character wields every weapon at the same speed, then it just becomes Devil May Cry or every other action game out there. The fans come to these for that unique experience. I’m confident Fromsoft can evolve their formula it will still be very engaging to play.
What they need to fix is the quests. I’m sorry but I shouldn’t have to constantly look up guides to progress and finish quests. And you are a liar if you say you have never used guides for quests. An average quest will be like “Ah there is a man named Lilic, he was very brave” and then your expected to find Lilic at the bottom of a well hidden behind a wall where he proceeds to tell you nothing and then you’re expected to talk to a certain NPC with no indication to continue the quest and if you do something before then the quest is lost and you can’t do it anymore. Character dies at end.
The entire way of story telling Miyazaki uses kinda worked for the Dark Souls games but in Elden Ring it just fell apart and became frustrating. I'm not saying that I want entirely traditional story telling but at least somewhat more normal would be nice
Personally I think of Fromsoft's quests as puzzles where I have to be mindful of my surroundings, the dialogues and the item descriptions in order to figure out the solution. But just like the other aspects of the gameplay each player chooses how he wants to approach the challenge. Especially in Elden Ring you are not required to use quest guides the same way you are not required to use spirit summons or consumables because the answer is always there for the player to find.
@@nilan3294exactly. I’m not saying we need quest markers or anything by any means but at least just some better hints or indication of where to go and what to do
Just want a player character that feels more speedy. They pulled it off in sekiro no problem, armored core like you said. Speeding up the character means you can speed up the bosses too. Just a character that doesn't feel like a lump of cheese compared to everything else.
Not another bloodborne but another game with eldritch/ lovecraft horror would be sweet. Seeing some of the new mechanics from the DLC of Elden Ring makes me think their next game will be semi fast paced
Something that I am 100% convinced of that we’ll get down the line is a Fantasy Mecha game led by Miyazaki. Mainly because well… on top making sense given what genres FromSoft has mastered until this point, Miyazaki has downright stated that he’d love to make games that evoked the feelings of Escaflowne and Aura Battler Dunbine. And go figure, both those series are fantasy mecha anime where the pilots can fight both inside and outside the cockpit. Beyond that, FromSoft has already basically made something like this in the past in the form of Frame Gride (which Miyazaki also mentions), which was basically medieval Armored Core with a focus on arena combat. I also agree that medieval dark fantasy stuff is a little played out at this point, which is why this is something I’d rather see down the line, but I’m 100% it’s going to happen, more so now after AC6.
I want them to subvert my expectations the way bloodborne did by going from werewolves to lovecraft. I expected elden ring to turn into something more space/alien themed after I saw astel, but it never really happened
@@shhwonk It will never happen no matter how much we want it to , also Berserk at the rate its going is also never going to be finished , the current team is also going to pass away from old age if they keep it up at this rate . Not saying we need a new chapter every week but when we get 1 chapter in like 3-6 months that is a problem . I am 31 I don't know if I will live long enough to see Berserk end lol .
All I want is DLC for Armored Core 6, please, PLEASE FromSoftware... that universe has still so much untapped potential, I'm not ready to say goodbye yet...
I don't think it sold so well for them to make it their focus , I wanted a Sekiro dlc or Sekiro 2 but it wont happen because it didn't sell as well . These games sol ,, well ,, but they didn't do ER numbers not even close so it makes financial sense to make an ER 2 or something more similar to it rather than experimenting too much .
They said the next few games are likely to be departures and separately, that they want to do sekiro and bloodborne combat better, (so 2 different avenues we’ll have going forward at the same time) the sekiro part is probably the teased by the deflect tear in the dlc. This is also likely because in dlcs and base games fromsoft usually puts hints towards the future games in terms of themes and gameplay so that’s interesting. I doubt they’ll do lots of npcs and big cities but a living world or a different vibe sounds very promising. Crossplatform and more seamless multiplayer sounds great.
I'd like to see a dodge mechanic like Sifu's, or go back to BB's dodge. Dark Souls 1 interconnected world design, with Farum Azula / Llendeyll quality level design. DS3 / BB boss design philosophy More accessibility options (why can't I turn off that damn compass?)
I can never consistently get Sifu's dodge, but when I do it is so incredibly satisfying. I wish that game were more popular, I will 100% buy the next installment, or even a "Sifu-like" from a different dev.
I think some ER bosses r really great (Messmer, Godfrey, Radagon, Morgott) and it shows that they can improve on their bosses but as it stands, I doubt they can do much else with the current mechanics unless they add new things or they stick to designing bosses like in ER.
Why tf do you need to turn off compass and honestly here i dont remember ever staring at my compass XD And it doesnt bother me since its very high up the screen
A quest log that gives you HINTS and KEY WORDS about your objectives (without telling you exactly where you go) would be nice. Also better PC optimization.
No, a quest log would ruin the vibe completely imo. I think a dialogue log is the most I'd be okay with. Something that allows you to read all previously obtained dialogue for each NPC, plus each NPC's prior locations where you met them. Then you use that to figure out what to do. An actual quest log that has explicit hints and highlights key words would be very out of place imo.
@@MarkHogan994 dialogue log is not a bad idea. npc locations was present in elden ring, was it not? bold to assume there will be a map for their next game lol
A pirate theme would be amazing and could even tie into bloodborne lore. Imagine being able to sail around to different isles and biomes, encounter eldritch horrors of the deep, experience pirate npcs, lost treasures, curses etc. That would be amazing.
The last thing I want is a water simulator in a FS game , making a pirate game doesn't feel like their forte and I personally don't want to see them make one .
My only complain with Elden Ring is the unnecessary reuse of a lot of bosses! I don't mind to face a boss for like two times but they put the same boss more than 5 times in a row (Magma Wyrm, Godskins, Radagon Wolf, Falling Star Beast) and they even commit the crime for reuse a freaking epic boss like Astel and The Dancing Lion... I mean the game is still a solid 10/10 for me but if they just fix this issue on the next game, or just diminish the times we face the same monster I'll all in!!! From never disappoints and Myazaki never fails! 🎉❤
Some bosses are fine if they are reused and it also makes sense lore wise. Astel is not just one entity they are many and each must have a different name as well. Magma Wyrms as well and so are Godskin Apostles who are definitely a group. Red wolves probably as well.
I remember some leaks back then that said the next soulslike game from FromSoftware was going to be based on magic and spells. There was even a concept art. If I'm not mistaken the name of them project according to the leaks was Spell Bound
It was Spellbound, indeed. I don't know if this leak was debunked or not, but nobody talks about it anymore. Let's hope to have some news at the Game Awards !
Next game is probably going to be something about martial arts. In almost every From DLC we get an out of place looking NPC as a tease for the next game, and this time around Dryleaf Dane was the most noticeable one.
I love the idea of being able to interact with other players at the Roundtable Hold with invites enabled for co-op. Coming from someone who used to play a bunch of Runescape years ago, It would also be nice to have the option to view other player's stats
Honestly, the thing I enjoy the most in Fromsoftware's games are the multiplayer interactions and mainly the invasion mechanic. Whatever the next game is going to be, I hope invasions will be there.
Kings field 5, shadow tower 3 is what id like to see next. They need to push first person combat and exploration forward. The genre has been stagnated since Morrowind.
Yeah, a new first-person FromSoft game would be amazing. Games like Dark and Darker, Witchfire, Dungeonborne, and Monomyth show that there's potential for greatness there.
I loved the weapon variety in Elden Ring so what would worry me about say a pirate setting is not being able to have all the different weapon types and have it make sense within the world
I think Sony made the unique trick weapons to be connected to Bloodborne iP given fromsoft never dared use the idea to any weapons in subsequent games.
1. Better coop. 2. Not need an online guide to do side quests. 3. More alive feeling world. 4. This is personal one, but a way to customise the hub area a bit wud be nice
I was really hoping that by joining the recusants or bloody fingers made it so that you lose access to roundtable hold, but maybe gain access to new and different NPCs
Not talking about base building or anything like that but being able to display cool things you've collected wud be nice. Like armours, weapons or collecting trophies from killing bosses
I'm good with playing their games how they intend them to be. Nothing needs to change, I don't have expectations, I'll gladly have the experience they want me to have.
The one thing I think would take fromsoftware to a higher level is metroidvania elements. Give me some movement like sekiro but with unlockable upgardes to make exploration more fun and rewarding than it already is. Imagine jedi survivor type gameplay but made by fromsoftware. That would be a perfect game for me.
My biggest hope is that they revamp their storytelling. I feel like that's the area they've improved the least since Demon's Souls. I do love reading all the item descriptions and interacting with esoteric NPCs, but I think they could do more to experiment with how they present their stories. More cutscenes, more interactive storylines where you affect the outcomes rather than just piecing together what already happened, etc. They did some of that in Sekiro, tried to make the NPC questlines more complex in Shadow of the Erdtree, added more choices in Armored Core 6, but I really want to see what they could come up with if they put even more focus into storytelling.
I think alot of the ideas here are pretty cool but the wukong glazing is hard for me to listen to. Black Myth Wukong had so many problems it blows my mind that its so high of a tier for you. I would not like if FS went in that direction I'm totally down for scifi, pirates, or whatever FS wants to go to next. I love dark fantasy as well so I wouldnt be upset if they made another setting with it (like souls or elden ring) but I can understand that its been done so much, that doing something new and unique could be better Multiplayer could definitely use some upgrades
@@oscaroska7613 Terrible performance on PS5. Many bosses have very unfair and unreasonable hit boxes. The combat is simple, but the secrets and hidden areas are almost 2X as convoluted as From Software areas. There are more, but most of the other problems don't really bother me.
@borisdragosani7584 Performance depends on ps5. Mine was with no problem. The other seems you problem and some skill issues on your parts . The game has more enemies variety as all darks souls, and Elden ring combined
@@oscaroska7613 bro, what? Ps5 problems are prevalent on a majority of users. The game studio made a public accluncment saying it would take them 5 months to resolve the issues. And I've beat the game, 3 times for the true perfect ending. I am just saying that a lot of the hit boxes extend in very unnatural ways. It make staffing almost impossible in black myth, which just lessens the combat. And aside from getting invicibility frames with well timed counter heavies, the combat isn't as complex as other games. The in-between areas are boring. The game is a boss rush, and I enjoy it for what it is, but that doesn't mean it is problem free.
What Miyazaki´s perfet game WILL contain (taken from the common things that appears between most games): -Medieval setting -Unsung MC -Arson to solve the worlds problems (linking the fire, burning the Erdtree) -Giant Crabs -Piggyback Ride Boss Fights (Lorian and Lothric, Radahn and Miquella) -Gank Fights -Bug Lady Boss -A Round Knightish friend with a sad death (Seigmeyer, Seigward, Alexander) -Anoying small enemy with the DS3 Thrall moveset -Moonlight Sword -Patches -Waifu that makes you stronger -Giants
It ain’t broke. They don’t need to fix it. They need to go harder. Deeper. More visceral. I’ve played all. I’ve beaten all. I need a more tangible, punishing, and clear cut game. Ughhh. Such a simple man I guess
It's a shame that Elden Ring went in the exact different direction. That game is so casual-friendly that you can beat it without even understanding the most basic mechanics. I'm not talking about QoL features, but about how stupidly easy it is to become OP and effortlessly steamroll the whole game.
@@Hustler2_ "how stupidly easy it is to become OP and effortlessly steamroll the whole game." I agree with u that it's easy to become op but at the same, I doubt the majority r op by the endgame.
@@Hustler2_ Elden Ring can be either the hardest or the easiest souls game depending on your choices. If you found it extremely easy its because you chose to do so.
It might be because Sparking Zero is my current obsession, but it would be cool to see FromSoft tackle a martial arts themed game and setting. I also would be okay with another dark fantasy world, but I think I'd want the zones expanded to be more than just fields and forests. Having an Asian themed place and a snow place and unique terrain would scratch my itch pretty heavily.
would be great if they add the option to sheathe greathammers/swords and colossal weapons on the back instead of the shoulder like in EVERY game. also some more quest info on where to next would be great!
Some things that I‘d like to see: Either just magic or just weapons. I‘d like there to be some kind of combo system and move flexibility during the fight. We had a little bit of that with the chain casting glitch, and some people combo things like Miriams Vanishing and Carian Piercer; but I‘d like that to be more established. I think the spirit summons would make for a great overhaul to invasions. Rather than invading with a player character, go back a bit to the original idea of random stronger monsters. Also, did you know: Messmers name is german for sacristan? A fitting name given his position. Not just that, Ansbach is a city in germany. The legend known as the Wolf of Ansbach has it that when a hated mayor passed, nobody mourned him, and his vengeful spirit came back and possessed a wolf to take revenge. The wolf killed multiple people before being trapped and put down, at which point the citizens cut off its muzzle and dressed it in the mayors old cloths along with a fake beard and a wig to make it look like an old man.
I think they could have a game where we witness the fall of a civilization’s prime, to give us something new yet still head in a direction they’re familiar with
My main problem with MMO's is not that they are inherently bad, exactly. It's that they are almost like having a job (in the sense that it can take too much of your time). Thats why i personally prefer single player games 😅
I always had the idea of a soulsgame where the dash mechanic is more build op on. Like combat where you can dash bigger distances or up (like a big jump), but in return the enemies have bigger attacks and more wider aoe's. The combat would feel way more agile and grand
If you wanna see a FromSoftware world that's still alive, play EnchantedArms. As for an MMO-like Multiplayer experience, FS is already doing that with their current model.
I think you make a good point about making a new game with foundations in the real world we live in, this would offer us things we can relate to, which would improve the gaming experience.
When I first heard the pitch for elden ring I doubted they could make it work, but they absolutely did and made one of my absolute favorite games of all time. I trust their judgment now. All I ask is they upgrade the character creation. More along the lines of Nioh 2. That would be awesome.
The one thing I hope they do is upgrade and optimize their game engine, I'm whatever game they are working on will be great, but the XP during launch has been pretty much the same since Demon's Souls, they made enough money with Elden Ring, hopefully they invest some of that money in upgrading their tech.
We know we'll get more Fromsoft games not made by Miyazaki himself, since he stated that many of his assistants and coworkers felt ready to make their own products and games, so my "wishlist" is regarding the next Miyazaki's game specifically: For the next big RPG title, be an Elden Ring 2 or a spiritual successor, built on its fundation like ER did to Dark Souls, I just wish for a brand new engine to allow us to be on the same level with their evolving philosophy in regard to enemies and bossfights. Elements such as "sekiro deflect", backstep, sidestep and overall more fluid moves being default tools at our disposal, not locked behind time-limited items and consumables, alongside a hefty rework for how sorceries and incantations work
I get why people want living worlds with bustling towns, but I don't see what it would really add to their style. I feel like they would have to start a whole new formula from scratch in order to properly implement full towns, since the current formula was made with no towns like that in mind. On top of that they'd be dealing with something they've never done before, and would take more time and resources to do. What's the benefit of it all? I get the sentiment of From stepping more outside their comfort zone, but I think it's fine to simply improve on an already existing formula with one series, and take baby steps toward variations and other genres with the other games they make (Sekiro, Armored Core, Déraciné).
if there ever is an elden ring 2 i hope it takes place in a time warp where we get to see the lands between in the lead up to the shattering. Recontextualising all these events and giving players a look into what the world was like before it went to pot would be such a poignant way to highlight the impact the shattering war had. Plus we could even get to see a voice acted marika and radagon, which would be awesome.
Didnt quite understand where your first argument came from, the entirety of ER lore is taken from the worlds ancient myths and meta physics all mixed together. Even tho i will admit its very hard to find for most players. Perhaps they need to make this kinda stuff less obscure because even after 2 years and being pretty well versed in ancient mythologies im still being shocked at things i missed. A whole revamp of the quest/npc system could possibly be the way forward as even tho i love the environmental story telling I still find it quite frustration having the chance to miss great storeys just because I didn't talk to an NPC 10x/exhaust their dialogue or didn't read some random item description. Id love to see perhaps a smaller scope game that has a more PVP focus, obviously the usual bosses but that pushes people towards PVP/interacting with others. Also the idea from the “spellbound” “leaks” where the world/Central location is one huge sprawling city (i feel they tested this idea with the shadow keep) with lots of verticality (also much like the DLC) as appose to warping from place to place/an open world.
A fromsoft pirate game with as many One Piece easter eggs as berserk would be epic, especially considering the darker themes One Piece has picked up on with its final saga.
I especially approve of the social aspect you propose. Bring back Covenants. Remove Spirit Ashes to further emphasize cooperative play. Allow players to trade some types of equipment and any type of crafting resources at Roundtable Hold. Increase character customization options - appearance and sounds - so players can make their characters more personalized and unique. However, I would prefer for FROM to refine and iterate upon what has already proven to work in previous Souls games rather than re-invent the wheel. In a hypothetical Elden RIng 2, I would like to see continued improvement in hit detection, improvement in the sophistication of mounted kombat, a more realistic stealth system which takes into account armor weight (why can I sneak as well in Bull Goat set as I can naked?) and armor type (wearing armor of enemies inhabiting a specific region could sorta-kinda function like a disguise). I would also like them to actually do a better job with the PC port, due to frequent complaints of stutters, lack of widescreen support, and an archaic 60 FPS cap.
I personally love the "declined world" settings, I'd rather stay with those. However I'd welcome if our character's choices could lead to different questlines, not just progressing/locking them out with our choices. And I wish they hold back a bit on the towering boss designs where I can only see their feet during fights.
On the subject of pulling from real-world, you sure are aware of the channel Tarnished Archeology, no? There is so much from real-world history in Elden Ring that it's quite impressive. Of course it's not directly referenced, but it's very much inspired in old history.
_ Less bosses that cheese hyper armor and make 99% of aows useless _ More fleshed out quests, maybe even a quest journal _ Better rewards for quests _ A more interconnected world (the DLC was a good step towards that direction), also denser and more populated by non hostile npcs _ Seamless coop
1. Agreed. The problem with Elden Ring DLC was the fact that most of the skills and spells were useless on bosses because of way too big of a casting time or way too underwhelming DPS for too big of a drawback. 2. Partially agree. Quest design in Souls games is atrocious, most of it requires exhausting dialogues and coming back to graces multiple times, and sometimes guessing where an NPC will be at a set time. But that could be solved by NPCs giving better hints other than giving the player a quest journal. 3. Hard Agree. Lots of quests in Souls games requires a ton of effort for basically no reward, other than some minor lore details. 4. Mixed. This is something I don't see much of a problem, having great gameplay and lore doesn't necessarily require an interconnected world to be a good game. 5.100%. Souls games have a very primitive way of doing multiplayer, Soulslikes like Nioh 2 nailed the co-op much better than FS ever did.
I heard a rumor that their next game might be magick based. I would be down with them switching up how magic works. I was excited when the new weapon classes were added because it showed they were still testing new ways to play the game
i want them to make sure the control scheme is 100% this time. stuff like dodge and sprint on the same button is bad (because dodge has a delay due to being on release). in general the technical side of fromsoft's games could do with some work, stuff like adding fsr, ultawide, higher fps, stuff that maybe you don't use, but people do.
My dream game would be KCD/rdr2 NPC system. Heavily upgraded combat with dd2 climbing, expanded sekiro combat and gameplay with a physics based grappling system and expanded climbing. A world like bb that dynamically changes as you progress. And absolutely nothing like what ER expansion was.
I agree with changing the atmosphere, I want something more bright fantasy with friendly villages. I also want advanced multiplayer. I dont care if it references the realworld, I just want the deepness of lore. Otherwise I really want a lot, like a lot, of work on the progressions systems, combat, movement, and world design. I want a small, dense, and riddled with reward open world. But it us an actual open world: meaning you can swim, you can climb, no invisble walls or death walls. I want more combos, I want to be able to switch builds on the fly without having to fat roll, I want a skill tree of ash of war like things, I want engaging and fun bow and magic combat like Horizon or like bending, I want to upgrade armor, I want to have upgrade systems for my skills like if I use a katana a bunch I get better with katanas and unlock stuff. I want pickpocketting and a cool as city to sneak around in. I want less bosses behind fog walls so thag sneaking can be a viable playstyle. All that is most important to me in the evolution of the souls style. I dont want minor changes, playing it safe, I really want them to grow the capacity of the gameplay to be more rewarding and more rpg and have better combat
Personally I’d want them to make a sci-fi fantasy game from them where it’s characters trying to make advancements with and without magic and things like that
Another two things I honestly thing should be addressed are: 1. Enemy damage and player defense: I'm not on the boat of tanking everything, but getting hit for half HP when fully armored to teeth is a bit of BS to be completely honest. And there were mods which addressed that for DS3. Everything From need to do is to change how defenses work and rebalace these values. Make heavy armor having it cost with weight and proper stats distribution while giving proper defenses. That's really much it. 2. Talismans and buffing: This went a bit of the rails in Elden Ring. Most encounters require to buff every 30 seconds or so because of the From mentality and it's getting really exhausting. Some bosses in the DLC leave really small openings to do anything and buffing isn't exactly what do you think when having a dragon on your ass. Talismans are the same thing. It's either 20% boost to something or basically nothing. Make talismans have special effects which alter gameplay, add functions or basically anything but not % damage boost to one attacks. That's not a healthy way of doing things. Look at Guild Wars 2 relics where all of them have a very different purpose depending on how you play. Of course most players will gravitate towards damage, but there are a lot of which you can take advantage of or cover weakness of your build.
A magic fokused game would be nice , if they maid it more fluid and you could move during casting or the spells would have built-in doges that would create some amazing gameplay. their magic system is so underutilized and has so many potential.
I feel like improving multiplayer elements is a great idea, but I almost feel like there should be less movement mechanics in favor for more grounded/ defensive combat that still allows for a good amount of flexibility. I personally don’t mind slower combat so long as attacks still feel weighty, and I’m sure there’s more interesting defensive mechanics that could be fun to play with outside of Sekiro’s deflect or Elden Ring’s guard counters.
I hope future Fromsoft games isn't as huge as Elden Ring, and more compact like Dark Souls 1. As much as I love Elden Ring, I dislike the travelling distance required in the game and the many copy pasted enemies to fill the map. Like half of the game spent riding torrent, and as someone who look at every crook and crannies exploring the Elden world is such a pain.
@@F8... Can you read? He said "compact," not "small." You can explore large twisting tunnels and castles that are compact yet extensive. The spread out open worlds are boring and drawn out unnecessarily.
Next game will is hard to tell but they are definitely making more Armored Core. They recently hired a bunch of artists that had worked on other Mech games and Gundam anime.
For next fromsoft game I want them to stop using temporal antialiasing. I dont know how much easier some visual effects may become to program, but it takes a toll to performance and creates visual artifacts like those in the water reflections.
I’d be ecstatic if they announced that they’re going back to an interconnected world. I know a lot of people didn’t like it, but performance issues aside, as I barely encountered any personally, I think there are a few things they could take as inspiration from Lords of the Fallen, mainly the interconnected world that they haven’t even attempted to recreate since DS1, the integration of ranged and melee combat, and the ability to do a ng+0 run or modify your ng+ run as you see fit. Personally I really enjoyed LotF, but cool weapons, awesome magic and interesting settings and lore are the things that draw me to these games, not boss rushing and endless dodging, which seems to have become the unfortunately predominant audience since DS3.
