Finally, an Oilers fan thats giving the Canucks credit. The Canucks are a great team and this second round proves it. As a Canucks fan, even I was skeptical going into this round. I even chose the Oilers to beat my team in 6. Having said that, they're proving everyone including me wrong. It's not even that The Oilers are a bad team because The Oilers are really good too, its just that The Canucks are proving to be a fantastic team. Credit should go to both.
the canucks were supposed to get broom swept out in 4 games so the fact they are still playing should be applauded and in fact they could have eliminated the oilers with a few bounces. I think the oilers realize they are not going run over us. The canucks have a team the oilers have 2 players we will see who wins
Our power play is brutal. Other than that, I think the boys have played pretty well into your team. What the Oilers need: Goaltending Depth scoring What the Canucks need: PP-production Top players scoring (Petey, Hughes, Hronek) Should continue to be a fun series to the end!
The Predators were a completely different team in that series than they had been all year. Canucks had blown them out all regular season too. I'm curious when the Oilers last played the Predators because the second half Nashville Predators were not the same team we played in the first 2 months of the season. Good win tonight. Oilers were hungrier in the first two periods and the Canucks can't always rely on third period heroics.
If the bottom 6 starts chipping in, Edmonton should be okay. If the bottom 6 step up AND Pickard or Skinner steal a game the Oilers will win the series in 6.
Also to answer your question yes the Canucks have always been a low shot team. They always focus on quality and precision of shots. Tocchet also said they don't want to waste shots in this series on Skinner because shots that aren't real scoring chances careen off the boards or are turned over and can turn into transition rushes for McDrai. So the low shots are actually strategic to a degree. A much better stat to look at is probably offensive puck possession time and when I saw that at some point in the second it actually slightly favoured Vancouver. But in general if you just check stats in the boxscore for a Vancouver game you're not getting a full picture.
If pettersons off the points list its because hes drawing heat off his teammates. Hes a winner and does what it takes to win , fuck points .... So many analysts miss this metric and just say people dont produce when it counts lmao
Some how the bounces seem to keep on happening to the Oil😳 Should even out about now,Pickard played excellent considering his playoff experience 🫡He has earned the next game …Thats going to be a wild game, buckle up we’re in for doozy 👊🏽…
@@obi-wankenobigoatwell Silovs is stopping any clean shot on him so the goals have to be tips or deflections. Dude is playing unreal right now. Normally the bounces don’t go in favour of the Oil so this is different for them. Canucks aren’t getting clean goals either though.
@@silverscreenwanderer huh? The bounces are going against them, almost all the oilers goals have been snipes or open side one timers. It’s the Canucks that have gotten all the bounce and tip goals. I’m saying once we get a few of those or if they stop getting 2 a game then the oilers can run away with the series like they deserve.
@@obi-wankenobigoat oh shit I read your comment wrong 🤦🏼♂️ though I do think we’ve had to beat Silovs with less clean goals than usual, he’s gotten a piece of nearly everything. That Nuge goal was probably the cleanest one yet.
Need Petterson to be himself. If he shows up in these last few games of the series it might be over. If not, then the Canucks will have to try and do it without him.
Oilers will win the cup whenever they fire Dustin Schwartz!! How many goalies he has gone through over the years? Every goalie started good at the beginning and then went downhill within months. I'm no expert to hockey, just a casual viewer with common sense. 😡
