This scene humanized Birdie, you understood why he became who he was. His brother left the family hanging and he did what he felt he had to do. He became a monster in the process. He even was willing to forgive his brother for abandoning them and he judged him. Tupac's performance was brilliant how his emotions ranged, you really felt like he was the little brother that hadn't seen him in a long time that walked that path. Underatted scene, may be the best in the film.
Exactly. In this scene it show show Birdie wasnt all bad. His brother was the bad one for leaving them. He had to do what he had to do, simple as that.
@Lee Scott fax and that’s why Kyle’s mom kicked him to the curb initially because he was selfish, arrogant and cowardly and it’s also the reason nutso died him knowing bro looked up to him but he’s clowning and chastising him I didn’t like Tom shepherd at all how do you bounce on your mom and little brother like that smfh fam was a straight bitch to me
It's crazy that you say that about Tupac because my older cousins taught me about the drug game in Jersey I'm from Baltimore Maryland and my uncle's from Baltimore and my older cousins taught me about the drug game as well in Baltimore but my cousins from Jersey told me about the drug game in Jersey and my father died when I was around six and a half 7 years old they took over helping me better when I got older we separated me and my cousins my older cousins in Jersey and I learned a lot from a lot of different males in Jersey and I had a lot of good ogs in my life and they handed me all books told me to study about the law about the stuff I'm into that's illegal. And the thing is is that when me and my cousins got back together and I'm older and my thirties I said to say anything to him like pac said to him to his older brother I'm not the same younger cousin that you knew that was falling behind y'all! I learned a lot since y'all taught me a lot of stuff! And on he and his brothers had to say was damn okay. But pac performance was great to me.💪🏾✊🏾
Even tho they ain’t see eye to eye that shit was deep when birdie hugged him and no matter what he hugged birdie back and it wasn’t no Idgaf kind of hug it was a big brotha hugging his lil brother despite differences that was deep!
@@alvinpointer6700Nah bro.. Shep left them to fend for themselves.. He was selfish and was still Welcomed back with open arms and He looked down on his lil brother
To me this was a message to black people, stop thinking that someone is going to save us from our condition, stand up for yourself & handle it, do you.
He was surprised and hurt. He got no respect for Handling business while shep was gone. And up until that point he still kind of idolized his big brother to the point of giving him half the business.
@@Biggdoom344 Your comment nailed that part perfectly. 2pac’s expression was hurt, surprise and then i think anger. He conveyed all of that in seconds.
I respect pacs mentality. He suffered ridicule and poverty while yearning for his brother to save him. Once he realized his brother was gone he stepped up and did what he had to do. As a result his mother didn't have to worry financially and pac moved up the ladder. Depending on people leads to resentment and disappointment.
@@K7FRM310.__ Exactly. Trust me I use to visit a place every summer where kids genuinely thought that the game was the only way of life. Finishing HS was considered a lifetime achievement. College was not even a thought.
as bad as birdie was. I kinda felt bad for em. He really looked up to Sheppard. He just wanted to be like him. But when he lost Sheppard, All he knew to look to was drugs. Man, his heart ran deep... Even tho it was a character. Pac was so good as an actor man
ROB look i'll marry both yall comments. Guess Birdie felt abandoned by his brother who was supposed to protect him from the bad ppl & bad stuff. And so became a monster unwillingly but as a man u knw right from wrng and can change. Birdie just married that life forever. Didnt feel sorry for him when he was murdered either. Live by the sword.....
Never thought about it like that. I'm sure Pac pulled from his personal experiences. In Dear Mama and numerous interviews, he was very candid about the level of poverty he and his sister grew up in.
Speaking of Will Smith it would have been interesting had 2Pac lived and done the Pursuit of Happyness role instead of Will Smith. Will did a great job in it but given the level of emotion 2Pac brings to his acting it would have been interesting had he taken that role as it fits almost exactly with his real life growing up in New York, Baltimore, and Oakland being homeless for certain periods of time while his mother struggled with drug addiction. He would have made an interesting Chris Gardener. =)
"Fukk you think you talking to,man? This ain't Nutso,,this ain't that dopehead on the roof taking orders from you!" I felt Pac in this scene especially since he stepped up for the family when Shep left them😔
I remember when this movie first came out. I took my little cousin with me to see it. I missed the 90s. You actually had to have talent for the most part.
Man Tupac is legendary. Acting was on point, he was smart, and could rap ro where it touched your soul. Wish I could have seen him live. Such a talented n gifted soul.
You have different people with two different ideologies and values. One guy wants to do right in order to benefit the situation but seems like he is not successful in helping the family. The other person is willing to do the wrong things and take the easier way in order to make money and help the family. That's how it is in many families.
I would always say that shit too man. Idk but people just don't need jesus. instead they should have morals so they will know from whats right and whats wrong,
It's not the easy way out, it's surviving amerikkka... The majority low "dealers" be on some narcissistic murder game... The rest only kill when it's self defense... All the Kingpins are agents... Who do you think runs the streets, the hood...?? The govt do, so homicides really shouldn't be surprising...
U don't know wat u talking about ain't nothing easy about the street life I really lived it. So don't speak on wat u know nothing about it makes u look N sound stupid. Smhhh
Pac words guided me from being something I wasn't built for, when I dropped out of high school regrettably, I couldn't go to the streets wasn't built like that, listening to strictly for my niggaz helped me tremendously, I went to Flatwoods job Corp got my g.e.d 94-95 ( thanks P.A.C R.I.P gone but will never be forgotten ✌️🙏 )
it's so sad that 2pac perished before he got a chance to play the role he was born to play.. Wich is Jodie IN Baby Boy.... 2pac woulda nailed that role on the head so hard ! that role was Taylor made for someone like him the individual that he was... a Young Black male and the tribulations he went thru to become a man... it just saddens me well never get to see 2pac as Jodie....
Leon's acting is great his facial expressions showing so much without saying much. Leon feeling he failed his friends, mom and brother. Knowing selling that stuff only leads to two things jail or death.
Man I miss this guy.... his potential was too great❤️ I still remember the night he passed... it was a full moon outside and I went out into my parents back yard and just stared at it. I think that was the first time I was questioning god- I thought he would survive those bullets.
His death served a purpose, he did not die in vain. His memory and work were deeply immortalized by it. That said, I wish we could have seen him develop and continue to impact the world.
A big screen tv back in the day was a huge accomplishment when in some homes people still used black and white tv or none at all. Birdie and Shep literarily lived in the projects with their mum before Shep disappeared.
This scene was fucking powerful because Pac grew up poor foreal amd he had no father so when he gave that speech to His brother it was out of angry passion
I hit my boy @ work with the line about sitting in front of the stove wrapped up in our coats, he didn't remember. Sent him this clip, he couldn't believe he had forgotten it!!!!
Dude abandoned his mother in life and had the audacity to show up in death. Had the nerve to look down on his criminal brother who actually provided for mom, while his punk ass was nowhere to be found. He got a lot of nerve.
Damn. When u say it like that, i totally agree now. U show up when your mom is gone and u judging your little brother who stepped up and did what he had to do? Kinda hypocritical. U right.
2pac’s acting is so good it’s chilling. I was never a fan of his music, but i truly miss the actor. Had he lived, he would’ve matured and really showed his chops by better deeper dramatic parts.
I rememember watching this scene.. I was only young. I didnt know who 2Pac was as a rapper but I watched this scene and it gave me goosebumps then I saw his name on the credits and started following his music. Been a big fan since... everything creative he did turned gold man I swear... had so much potential! Damn shame RIP king
2pac made lots of movies all his movies he was a top actor. In all his roles i grew up watching all his stuff. He is a real man. All his roles he did very well. Very natural. Acting . Mad different skills that not many actors today. Can not implement. Real talk.
Birdie could 100% have been Bishop if he survived and made it to his 20s. They both was crazy and wild af, its just that Birdie was tad bit more mature because obviously he’s older. There upbringing and motives are so parallel.
I feel that Birdie was the character who had exactly what Bishop from Juice was mission: more depth. This scene shows why he became the guy he was in the film and why he did what he did.
I just wish he could've made more movies. So since he's still alive according to new evidence I would like to hear a new album and see him in more movies.
