The new Scale Crawler "Sherpa" from Absima on its first Tour. It have a lot of cool Features out of the Box, and they works well! Product info: www.absima.sho... #absimasherpa #absima #scalecrawler
Looks like a nice capable truck. The more choices available on the market, the better for all of us in the hobby I think. Thanks for another good video.
I admired tis vehicle and I just had to have one, so after some back and forth I found out that i was the first person in the U.S. to order one from them. I feel so special!
FANTASTIC Video, Super Quality, Smooth. Heard of this on another truck review of the Top Ten. I owned RCs for 40 years. I want one of these, Thanks for the Great video. Tom in USA
I was very tempted to get an SCX10 III but this seems much better value. The difference in speed between high and low gear on this is much better than the Axial 2 speed in the SCX10.2 Spare parts are cheap as well. Great video as always .
Absima works closely together with redcat in Germany. So there is chance redcat offers it in the u.s I would send them an email or contact them via social media to let them know there is demand.
I've got the same colour Sherpa, and I love it... I watched several videos, including yours, which help make the decision to get one a while back. What a great RC! So capable in either mode (unlocked and high speed, and trail RC slower mode with lockable diff options), just like my TRX4. I'm getting spoilt for choice now when out for a trail RC walk amongst the other models..
A good informative review of this rig . And in my mind the very best rig money could buy . So mine arrives sometime next week .Went for the super cool orange one
Wow. That truck is actually more fully-featured than the TRX-4. I bet Traxxas is not happy about this truck having lockable differentials. EDIT: The diff locking mechanism is almost identical to the one Traxxas uses. No wonder this truck isn't sold in the USA.
@@Matteomeier: Traxxas patents everything they possibly can, because that is the only way to protect products from bootlegging in the USA, and the RC market isn't profitable enough to withstand widespread bootlegging. Traxxas sued Arrma a few years ago for designing a truck with locking differentials and lay-down shock absorbers, similar to the Traxxas Summit even though the details of the designs were different. That truck (the Arrma Nero) was discontinued shortly after the lawsuit was filed. Traxxas is extremely protective of its business, which is why it has the money to pay for interesting new designs like the Summit and the TRX-4.
A very nice review and superb drive, i like the blues guitar tracks added, i did pre order this truck but pulled out as i wanted to see what the verdict is for it, maybe later, Matteo, keep up the great work and please do a video showing how you make the films of the cars out on the trails
That is one nicely put together Jeep! Portal axles, differentials...the whole deal. On a side note, that transmitter is a Dumbo RC/Surpass Hobby/etc... Not that it's a bad thing! I have two 6 channel Surpass radio receiver combos I use on my trucks and they're quite good...even in our bitter cold winter. You can also reassign the channels. I use Ch. 3 to switch the lights, Ch 5 for the 2 speed transmission and am keeping Ch 4 (the three way slide switch) for when I install the winch. So, I still haven't figured out who makes the chassis yet (everybody makes it for somebody else..hehehe), but the radios are top notch. 😊 As always, beautiful footage, and nice mods. 👍🏻
@@Matteomeier , anytime, sir. Your content is very good. Oh, and the truck in other parts of the world is a YK4102. I knew I'd seen it! Unfortunately not here...in Canada we're pretty limited to product...we can't get the Absima, YK, or much else (other than Traxxas, blah, blah...same old, same old). hahahahaha. Oh well, WPL rocks (even if they're little)! :)
Im taking the Bronco down to the creek today. Its awesome living on our private 7K acre ranch in the Texas Hill Country. I have more trails to drive on than most people can imagine. I drive on 100+ year old cattle & goat trails. Some are hard to go up on foot! I never get bored. There are literally hundreds of miles of trails for me to run on. If I ever get over being a lazy retired guy I might start making a few running videos. More than the crappy ones I already have in YT. I'm very interested in this new RC. I like having locking diffs & I'm glad Traxxas doesn't have a monopoly on this feature anymore! Looks like a great new rc!
This is a GREAT video. The driving shots are superb, better than the official manufacturer video. VERY well done. Your english needs some work, but this is an excellent video!
A 4-linked rear with a Panhard bar? That's not how it's supposed to be unless the 4-link has no triangulation between the links. A Panhard bar makes the axle move slightly sideways however the triangulated 4 linked will try to keep it in it's place, causing stress on the links, chassis and axle.
Tolles Video!
Nice truck, im keeping a close eye on it. I wonder if this rig can eat hardcore obstacles for breakfeast, if i decide to put some weigths and a good set of aftermarket tires. I have a Redcat gen7 pro and a Carisma Ford f150, and both of them suffer a bit of an abuse by the terrain i put them through, and aside from a burnt motor and destroyed gearing ( they were plastic ) i had no problems.
@@Matteomeier This kind of rigs ( with proper mods ) are more than adequate to climb difficult obstacles, they are called crawlers for a reason ( not 100% scale), but i recommend bringing spare screws or screwdrivers to support them when you are in the field... Its pretty common for my Rc mates to destroy their gearing, suspension, axles, etc, when they are driving their rigs, but they bring along pleeenty of spare parts to repair and keep going in the field. They are crazier ( and richer ) than me...
Yes, that's what I mean, on the limit you need spare parts and tools.... 👍😊😊 But as you said, upgrades are necessary when you want to drive it hardcore.
The glossy color versions come with clear windows. Only the matte color versions come with overpainted windows. But the windows can be made clear with paint remover. You can see it here: (This also works for the Sherpa) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DuJUBYWiU-E.html
Hey Matteo, very nice video as all of your videos... taken in an awesome scenery. I also like always your explanations. But where did you got that "SHERPA" decal on the hood?
Awesome truck. Offers so much for the price it costs. Probably the crawler which offers the most bang for your buck. Sadly this thing is sold out absolutely everywhere. No chance to get one at least for a few weeks I guess. Thx for your presentation, Matteo!
Exzellente Aufnahmen technisch und von der Landschft her. Besonders interessant ist, wie du die Auswirkungen der Differentialsperren und des 2- Gang Getriebes gezeigt hast. Freue mich auf jedes Deiner Videos.
Nice detailed review, thanks Matteo. Looks like it could be more of a trail truck than a serious crawler would you say? Have you tried it on more extreme conditions?
Thank you Dave! 🙏 In my opinion it's a scale crawler, something between a trail truck and a crawler, but same as TRX-4, SXC10 or HPI Venture. 👍😊 Because it's scale, I think It should not be moved on completely oversized obstacles.
All that great stuff - and NO Interior?? 😲 Besides that, I agree with you that this is a terrific player in the RC Crawler Market. In some ways it looks like a SCX10 III, but with locking Diffs. The Axles look strong and the gearing is goood. I have to wonder, since the Body looks so much like the Jeep of the SCX10 III, would the Axial Interior fit?? Since you've got one, maybe you could find out? 😉 I might consider this, if it comes to the U.S. AND after my Ship FINALLY comes in next year! 😁 Carmine ✈🚂🚙
Anytime if I can Help! 😉 It just seems like it would work. I wish I could afford to try it... 😢 I have a question... Do any of the Tamiya Interior Plates fit a M Chassis Car?? Thank you my good Friend!
is there a chance for a versus video ? i wanna see axial sxc10 iii vs absima sherpa ;) And thanks for your videos just found your channel today (too late). But better late than never! Appreciate your work ! Greetings from germany. i leave a sub
Hello mate, what crawler do you recommend at this price point? This is now in stock here in Portugal but I know that this is a Chinese model underneath. Still worth it? I love the one with the LR Discovery body in your channel but that’s more expensive and maybe less features right?
Yes, and the Discovery is a kit and needs all accessories separately, this makes it more expensive. The Sherpa is a really good Crawler, even it's originally from China, no worries. (All the others are made in china also, even Traxxas) Mine works great without problems since I have it. And all the features you get for the money is outstanding. 👍😊
How did you find the magnets that hold the body shell? Do you know if there is possibility to attach other body shells with the classic post? I was thinking that with the magnets the body shell might fall off. Thank you Matteo!
No, not absolutely. Both needs some upgrades, the TRX-4 needs lights and for some models clear windows, and there is a great risk to get problems with the servos. The Sherpa needs a better esc and dampers...
