Just completed this poject! I understand the concerns of people who say that this a very generic overused dataset, but I personally found a lot of value and learning in it. As a total beginner in learning stage who has not done a single project because I did not know "everything yet" , this tutorial gave a good overview on how it all comes together. the google collab style of presentation is refreshing, I tried tableau practice for the first time, got ideas on how chatGPT can help with code snippets, soft skills etcetera . now wether is it portfolio worthy? that could be debatable as seen.. but is it an insightful learning experience for absolute beginners? definitely. tldr: I don't care if it is titanic, I am just happy I learnt something and made my first project 😭. It's progress for me, the first stepping stone.
This video should start with “absolute beginner” instead of just “beginner” to make the expectations clear right away, shall it? Thanks for the feedback, btw
Guys, if you have ANY questions, do let me know in the comments below. I will try to answer each and every of your questions! Good luck solving the project
Greetings 👋 Fighting perfectionism, I decided not to correct typos and misspellings in the video. However, for your convenience I corrected them in the templates that I’am sharing with you. Alex, this video is absolutely awesome! I learned so much about how to tackle real industrial projects, which is a refreshing change from the usual fancy, colorful dashboards we see on RU-vid. Your hard work and dedication really shine through, and it's clear you put a lot of effort into making this valuable content. I truly appreciate it. If possible, please create more videos like this with end-to-end projects. It would be incredibly helpful for all of us who want to dive deeper into real-world applications. Thanks again!
Thank you very much for making this video. I just finished the Google Advanced Data Analytics course this week after completing the original google data analytics certificate. I was in the process of building my own website to showcase my projects in a one stop shop portfolio link. But this template will definitely expedite things for me. I loved the presentation and use of AI to generate the very professional summary and to assist in many parts of your project. Though this dataset may be overused, cliche and old, there are many MANY things I have learned just following along and that will be prove to be incredibly helpful and invaluable. I really appreciate your videos and have watched a few others and loving them so far. Thanks for all you do!
I loved it Alex, I am new to Data Analytics, and this is going to be my first project. I truly appreciate your efforts and the time you’ve dedicated to helping newbies like me. Thank you!
Great project and like you said very creative and simple way to showcase your portfolio, especially for beginners. Thanks a lot for the video, the lesson, and the tips. I can't wait for the next project
Great work mate, very hyped for what you have in store for the future; esp the intermediate/advanced projects. I am also keen to see you integrate some of the DevOps/Data engineering methods you mentioned before when you were talking about uploading data etc. thanks, subbed.
Alex, Its such as amazing vidoe to build Data Analytics Portfolio. . . I was really looking forward for an projects like this . . . Do making more. . . Waiting for the next video.
thank you so much for the video. As im looking into building Data Analytics portfolio i was really looking forward for an in depth video on how a Data Analytics project look like. can't wait for more videos like this :3
Thanks a lot for making such a nice detailed Project. I subscribed your channel and hoping for more intermediate and advanced tutorial. Best of luck!!!
Watched it all and followed along with the python section. An excellent contribution to the learning community. I haven't used google colab before but it is not difficult. A very interesting way of showing a portfolio. Good insight into the process not just the code. Looking forward to further projects at the other levels as well as beginner.
@@alexright_data_analytics Yes, I have completed all of it, tested links I included, everything seems to work OK if you follow the instructions carefully. Well worth the effort.
@@Mandelbrot567 Ohh, great to know cause it is experimental. I do it first time. Thanks a lot for the feedback and let me know if you have any suggestions for improvements so I include them in the next videos. Cheers
I think it would be better if you choose an appropriate project next time with a problem statement and objective which can be solved based on your domain knowledge and Business acumen. Just a suggestion since anyone will find a normal EDA project but most don't have onsite experience on how data driven decisions are made Thanks for the video regardless. Love your content❤
Thanks for the valuable suggestion. This is a complete beginner project, just to familiarise people with the data analytics stuff. Will do what you are suggesting for more advanced projects
@@alexright_data_analytics Yea,I definitely get your point but I really liked your content considering how niche it is, covering the candid part of data work. And hence this was my recommendation as I believe you can contribute Alot as a creator with data consultancy Experience I am completing Google Beginner analytics for GCP(not the one on Coursera but the one on CloudSkills Boost) and it definitely covers most of the cherry picked details of the work as a "data guy"
@@alexright_data_analytics I love your awesome work-place simulation projects! I'm also looking forward to the advanced projects! Even for a beginner, it is hard to get an interview with only beginner level's projects as almost all DA jobs require years of work experience. Having knowledge of advanced projects would help stand out, I believe. Besides, there are barely no advanced project tutorials available online. Congrats!💯
I've a question... I got zero knowledge about html so is that possible from the code "create the html code with the base 64 image" to "display html code" all those can be python code??
Titanic dataset is a straightaway rejection of our resumes be ut beginners or experienced. If you can share portfolio based on the current trends for 2024 that would be of great value Alex
I see the point but not sure I agree with the it. It is an absolute beginner project, so taking an absolute classic dataset and representing it in a creative way using Google Colab “all in” method is ok. This project is intended for people who know very few things about data and just beginning their journey. So exploring all time classic Titanic could be a good and interesting start for them. Also, do not see a problem having it in your portfolio, given that it is well done and you apply for junior roles. Yet, I see your point and for future higher level projects I will be using other datasets, maybe some shuffled copies of those I worked with. Thanks for the feedback!
Hey Alex, Thank you for sharing this great project. I have a question: Age feature imputation with .mean() doesn't sound right to me! Would you do that in a real project scenario?
Hey hey! Why does't it sound right to you? Given we have a normal distribution of the data for Age column (and we do have it), this is a reasonable option. If this would be a more advanced project, I would try to use more precise method, maybe a regression or so, or even a neural network to input the missing values. To chose the best option using a regression/neural network we would need to formulate a metric of accuracy, but this deserves a whole separate video. So, for this one and generally for this case, mean is fine. Hope this helps
I was so excited about the project but as soon as I saw it is about titanic which obviously has toy dataset then I stopped watching the video. Because such projects are so outdated that if hiring managers see in your resumes then they straightaway reject your application just because of such worthless projects

Completely agree, I think I lose interest the moment I see these generic datasets. I agree that it has learning value but I see no value being added by having it in your portfolio just added fluff.
@@thayyebsalim3857 If you are a senior data analyst, then probably. But if you only beginning, I think it does give value. It also shows you recognise classics :) It is like riding a Toyota - kinda boring but well respected
@@alexright_data_analytics I don't get this what's the meaning of titanic dataset ? I've looked it up on Google and it keeps giving me feedback on the titanic ship... As well as AI doesn't seem to give me something meaningful
@@alexright_data_analytics i already did ..and it was algorithms and data structures in the very first round..not sure why a data scientist would need to grind through leetcode..with chat gpt and pandas almost anybody can build a model now..& for the project they're looking for something unique that fits their company( whether supply chain, health care or marketing)and a data set definitely not from kaggle...& Yes most important..dont forget ..SQL is still very relevant and will be for a long time..
