Know your history September 1982, Israel's position in Beirut became untenable and the signing of a peace treaty became increasingly unlikely. Outrage at the Israeli military's role in facilitating the Phalangist-perpetrated Sabra and Shatila massacre of Palestinian refugees and Lebanese Shias,
Israeli human rights group B’Tselem reported “Since 1967 , Thousands of homes of Palestinians were demolished by Israel. This is part of war crime: The Fourth Geneva Convention prohibits the occupying state from destroying the property of civilians in occupied territory, ” Homes were usually demolished at night without residents being given any advance warning. The homes destroyed by security forces belonged to Palestinians who were not suspected of any involvement in causing harm to Israeli civilians or security forces. They were given no opportunity to plead their case before any instance and received no compensation for the damage they sustained. This policy of collective punishment inflicted lasting harm on thousands of people. This policy constitutes collective punishment, which is prohibited and violates binding provisions of international law.
The Moslem Arabs lost the war they waged on Israel in the 1967 six day war, in the process Israel capturing a large chunk of their historical homeland. International law means nothing to a nation wanting to achieve its war goals, and is difficult to enforce. And the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) was captured from the Jordanians, not the so called Palestinians.

Lebanon has been really bad since the 1971 when the PLO got booted out of Jordan, then the Christians lost power and were forced out of the country. I am out of words to describe my anger, disgust and outrage over the criminal activities of the US in supporting the Israeli atracks on the people of Palestine and Lebanon. Every thing that is being reported as being outrageous escalation is like a repeat of what has been done to Gaza. I’m so sorry for America’s complicity
Sorry I don't see it that way, Lebanon brought this war to Israel. After Oct 7 the very next day Lebanon attacked Israel without any reason, why ??? Because they wanted to be in solidarity with Gaza. Now you complain. Man!! The Irony.
Document all the war crimes! There needs to be accountability. At least they can get reporters and investigators in Lebanon… with internet to share reports! This is so horrible, and it’s the same pattern we have seen in Gaza.

This is all horrible. I will say civilian adult men lives are important too. I mean they do give the civilian death toll, but often the sentence is, "X number of people died including y children and z women". I guess this just bothers me a little sometimes because those adult mens lives also matter. I think it's different when comparing an active military personals death, not that their life doesn't matter as well, but compared to a civilian I do see a difference. It just seems like civilian adult men aren't valued in how we speak about these situations sometimes. Also there is a chance a women that is killed could be active military depending on the country and how you define active military.
Wrong. We don't want any part of Lebanon except a buffer zone to keep out Hezbollah. We have a peace treaty with Jordan and it's worked well for 25 years. Israel has no hostilities with Jordan, proving that we most certainly can get along with our neighbors, as long as they don't enter Israel without a visa.
I can’t figure out what we (citizens of the U.S.) can do to make Democrats change their Israeli policy. It’s definitely depressing to see American citizens voices and support doesn’t actually affect policy.
This is the saddest thing I’ve seen in all of my years on this earth. I’m outraged, saddened, disgusted, and disappointed at the in difference of our leaders. And the helplessness of the average person to effect change. We have these systems in place that are run by the worst people on earth and in that context it doesn’t matter who is in office because the systems are broken and self serving so you can not be a part of the machine and be different, care, and affect change. The basis for our systems have to change. I am heartbroken.
I agree with Ms. Mounzer. They are one and the same. This brings up a question was my uncle correct when he explained, that Israel’s focus was to rule the world and to use the US as their military or backup force.
But let's be realistic, imagine if Israel doesn't have air defense system what will it will be from missiles launched from Iran, Hezbolar, Hamas and Houtis to mention the few?
If they didn't invest in defense systems I think they could be lost all Israelites, unlike hamas and hezbolla they only build tunnels for themselves just look how are they thinking of themselves

They are made terrorists from outside while Israel has chosen to go terrorist without necessity.
Hezbollah is estimated to be between 50K-100K in size. Hezbollah has a huge grip over the population of Lebanon, and terrorism transformed Lebanon from a once thriving nation to a terrorist controlled one. Which land is Iran currently clearing the indigenous population from again? Israel is doing so in Gaza and the West Bank which speaks more to goals of conquering the Middle East for Greater Israel than anything like Iran's actions.
If you think the US cares about the Arab world think again...they dont care about either Muslims or Christians...who is going to defend the Arabs??
