You have given me inspiration. Maybe even a deeper love for what I’m trying to do. I’m taking your direction into my life....wandering...experimenting with all that you have shown us. Letting go is a beautiful gift. I am somewhat a beginner thinking it all has to be perfect. You have given me license to go where my heart and eye leads me...and making me feel I can do this...try this...learn on my own terms. I have flipped open the flaps of my box..breathing some free air and crawling out with all my brushes..stencils..paints..pallet knife...whatever I can get my hands on...thank you thank you MABO!! Could you tell me what you use to draw your black marks! Thank you again for all your inspiration!
Thank you for your kind comment, I am glad you are inspired. Greatly appreciated. I use charcoal, sometimes markers, pencil, oil pastels or anything I can find in my supplies.
Thank you...also..I’m not a drinker BUT I’m going to try the glass of wine to get me further inspired while painting....and I can always dip my brush in it!🙃
Oh my! Been stressed all day but your technique pulled me right outta that lol. I actually heeded your warning about this painting, had to pause I laughed so much. Then rewind and behave myself!🍀
Just subscribed to you, now I know why. I’ve always loved abstract, and in my heart believed I could do it, but fear always stopped me, just as it did with my photography. Always thinking I’m no good enough. And in Texas where I live, it’s all about cowboys, horse and Texas stars. But I’m 70 now, always a non conformist to traditional junk, don’t even fit in with my church friends. Just started painting about 6 mo ago, with weird responses, I ask them to look up the word abstract, duh! But you have inspired me, I’m going in head first, and my work will be great because I have a weird out of the box mind, I like being different, and my true friend know me as a weirdo they love, and have grabbed my paintings as quick as I make them, but now comes the good stuff, thank you! From the bottom of my heart, you are the real deal❤️
Just a small comment on what my perception is about art in general. I have watch Jackson Pollack in several videos and what he did was chose the colors he would use and the size of the canvas. Then for the entire gestural process he relayed on intuition and chance. I am glad for you that you sold the painting so quickly unlike Van Gogh, who first had to die ,before people realized how incredibly creative he had been.
I love this painting. I love this freedom technique. I love the colors and where they were placed. I love the over all composition and movement. It is awesome.
Just discovered your channel, LOVE IT!! On this one when you turned it up side down to touch up the sides, my eye picked out a "sunshine glowing on the ocean surface" type image with in it. And now I can't unsee it lol. So, so beautiful!! I definitely gotta try to give abstract another shot.
The State Fair was brilliant especially the roller coaster captured in the brightness of the setting sun and dually unique in providing the exact amount of color light onto the adoring excited crowd's onlookers... Genius!
Never watched this multitude of techniques. Very interesting. Love your sense of humor too😁 Merry Christmas and thank you for sharing your gifts. Jeanne Louise
That was amazing, the end result took my breath away. If you appreciate art then you'll understand where I'm coming from. Could just watch you all day, keep em coming 👍
At one point I thought oh no! He has gone too far! But to my utter joy, the madness comes together in beauty and wonder. I applaud your vision and look forward to watching all your videos. The joy of abstract is that each intrigued viewer can envision their own personal feelings in what has been created from within the mind of the gifted artist. You intrigue me.
The video you made with the coffee filter reminded me of Jackson Pollack’d Blue Poles.its a huge piece and it was a controversy at the time in Australia because it cost $1,000,000.
Yeah, and the thing was displayed upside-down for years before anyone noticed. Aussies are big on art, or at least the money side of it. The money side of anything, really.
Very well done MaBo, and please do not care the thumbs down because it is from folks who have a lack in art education or they're jelouse of successful people
From one Canuck to another, truly a beautiful piece. Honestly the camera angle led me to believe you were going end up with a pile of mud - but man, really, really well done…
Thanks. very much appreciated. One of my earlier videos and I was still too inexperienced regarding video length etc. Would love to re-cut the video and shorten it, but I will loose all those views 🤭
Thank you Mileivis, yep I need to pick them up. In the meantime I have a smaller studio and a garbage can.😎😊. Make sure to watch my newer videos for a variety of styles. Thank you for watching.
Hi Tracie, yes the basic idea, (The light on the end of the tunnel) and I selected the colours I wanted to use. Not my best work, however it sold to an art collector in Milano/Italy. Please check out my later works, just uploaded the latest, a 55" x 55" canvas incorporating a poem. Thank you for commenting.
Thank you for posting this video. I've learned quite a bit from your technique. I'll try to do the same.... The painting came out simply marvelous. I love it
