In this video present an overview of one of the most important art movements in the first decade of the post-World War II period, namely, Abstract Expressionism, which is typically divided into two large subdivision: Action painting and Color Field painting. Among the main artists associated with the movement, we will focus in particular on Jackson Pollock and his so-called “dripping” technique, inspired by the automatic writing of Surrealism.
