Back to Bellevue for some abstract & minimal street photography with the Fujifilm X-H2S, XF 16-80mm f/4 and XF 70-300mm f/4-5.6. Really enjoy the challenge of noticing abstract and minimal photos and seeing a photo in the everyday patterns, textures, light, shadow and subjects in the city.
I switched from manual exposure mode to aperture priority for these photos. What’s your preferred exposure mode for street photography? Please share your thoughts in the comments below!

Ha! Love the pix taken in the graupel! Because I used to use an old, non-metered film Leica, I still use full M. -1/3 to -2/3 stop depending on lighting.

Very nice images Michael. To answer your question, I mostly shoot in aperture priority and I don’t remember having to shoot higher than iso 400, don’t forget that I’m in the sunshine state and the light is usually good, plus, alligators and iguanas don’t move very fast😂. Any indoor photography is all manual, including the flash, I’m old school and TTL doesn’t work for me, I’m always getting inconsistent results. Be well.

Hi Enrique! I’m thinking I’m going to enjoy aperture priority. I did get to ISO 1600 a couple of times recently, but that’s the cloudy northwest for you. I agree about flash TTL - way too unpredictable in my experience. Take care!

What mode I used depends on the subject. I use manual+auto ISO often, for things like minimal/abstract/artisitic I use aperture priority, for pets/wildlife I use shutter priority. When I do manual on my H2S I have the red record button set to act like pushing the front command dial in so I can switch from that dial being aperture to shutter and use the rear dial for exposure comp. That helps when I use my Sigma lens that don’t have an aperture ring. On my Fuji lens I would just use the ring ;).
