So, it's basically a fact that Pomni is a replacement of Kaufmo because she shows up right after he loses true consciousness. It makes sense because a circus needs a Jester or clown character in it.🤡🤡🃏🃏

The thing next to the dog is called a String worm and its a toy. One idea I would love is that before getting sent there... you get to choose the avatar and personalize it. Cause then Zooble in my head is a random select 😂

Honestly I don't think Pomni's appearance had anything to do with Kaufmo's abstraction, Caine (seemingly) didn't know Kaufmo abstracted until he was told but if Pomni appearing meant Kaufmo abstracted then Caine would already know, all the other characters also know what abstraction is and that Caine can deal with it so they've likely witnessed it before

Since it’s very hard to contain human minds in computer, with it taking up tons of space, the insane character’s minds were too much for the computer. That would also explain their designs of a mess of parts that don’t fit together.

The first character you couldn't make out seems to be a jester juggling balls? and the "Anteater" character seems to be a play on a Worm-On-A-String! Also Gooseworx confirmed on tumblr that she's officially called "Queenie" Instead of Queener like most of us assumed!

When you mentioned Kinger’s wife “Queener” the devs of the show confirmed her name is/was Queenie, though it’s interesting to think they could have actual history in real life and the game recognized that and made them a sort of cartoon couple as well, great video btw 😄 👍

Goosworx (the creator of DC) confirmed that the black queen chess piece was in fact Kingers wife and also that her name was Queenie

The theory that the game makes a "copy" of your brain to be your character in-game and stores it, only for that copy (which contains your personality, and therefore is basically a version of you) to be left behind with none of your memories once you log out of the game, is horrifying. Instantly reminded me of SOMA. The existential horror of not being yourself, but merely a copy of the REAL you, who is out there just living their actual life while you're just stuck there like you're an old safe file in a game that's already been finished? Terrifying.

One thing I noticed is how some of the characters have similar themes, the jester in the thumbnail must have been the original clown character before he abstracted and Kaufmo had abstracted himself by the time Pomni arrived.

I absolutely adored the pilot I’m such a huge fan of animation and dark psychological stuff especially as someone who struggled with existentialism so just that ending with the perfect music just omg this is the best thing I’ve seen on RU-vid since hazbin first showed up and now this amazing pilot from my favorite RU-vidr the gods of animation are smiling on me today

I think you have to be careful about overinterpretation. I bet a lot of them are just scrapped concept art designs that didn't make it in and then added into the pilot as Easter eggs. The challenge would be to determine which door portraits represent important characters.

I like the thought that Kaufmo abstracting and Pomni arriving are linked.😊 Also, I’m thinking the game takes the human’s mind and prevents it from connecting back with their body even if they take the headset off, rendering them useless husks.🤔 Although when they zoomed out at the end of the pilot, there was no body there in front of the computer, so either someone removed the body or the headset might have teleported their entire form and mind into the game.🤔

Abstraction is also a term in computer science which means removing data--or details--from a file that are deemed un-important. This could be interpreted as "after you lose your mind in the circus, you as a person are no longer important" and so they turn into one of the monsters.

so Ima just point this out: all we know so far is the queen chess piece is named queenie during that post gooseworks said "all they'll permit themselves to say right now is her name" so she'll be important later on and revealed ages are as follows kinger: 48 ragatha: 30 gangle: 26 pomi: 25 and jax and zooble both being 22 but zooble is several months older

All the characters' forms seem to be based on some form of toys. But some types of toys seem to repeat, such as clown/jester. It could be that there certain types due to the game having set characters the player can choose from like in some roleplaying games. Then allowing some personalization within the types. Clown /Jester=The "mish-mash of colors" at 3:20 reminds me of the riot of colors on clowns and jesters. I'll theorize this was a clown/jester character sometime before Kaufmo arrived. That Pikachu-like thing also looks like a type of jester or clown. Dog= The dog across from the Squirmle looks like the head of those dog-slinkie toys. Then there's that sock puppet that looks vaugely like a dog. Dolls= both Ragatha and Jax seem to fit the stuffed doll type. that pink cyclops may been a doll type Chesspiece= Kinger & Queenie fit this type then there's random types that don't fit into a anything beyond being "trippy", like Zoogle and that ribbon girl with the theater masks. Could be these are totally "Random" type. My head canon for TADC is that it somewhat follows a similar theme for SAO. In a sense that the game maker is trapped in his own world, but has access to the players memories. He then traps them in the digital universe in order to simulate the ideas and concepts that lead each character to be themselves, though he left the risk of them “going insane” when looking for an exit or falling to despair. This uncertainty also affects the simulation of the digital universe, since repeating loops (a nod to the description of “insanity”) may cause the digital world to experience errors or *glitches. Once a player becomes abstracted, since they do so in order to prevent the program from crashing, a new random player who plays the “front-end game version” of TAD gets sucked into this version where they are forced to endure the existential dread that awaits them. The only reason I have for the game maker, Caine, having access to players memories is the scene where Pomni goes through an exit door only to see a rundown office building where she most likely remembers having unsettled discontent for. This sort of ties to the correlation between the player’s thoughts to the creation in that universe. Caine basically allowed the players to will things to existence only to the extent that there is *”no true exit”* since their memories become codes and the longer they are in the digital universe, the less likely they would have survived in the outside world. Especially when they may be copies of their original selves. He basically plagiarizes their thoughts and memories and uses it to manipulate or create new scenarios. He also makes them their own rooms out of “what they probably like”, meaning he can access their minds but never truly control them? Which could also mean he has to prevent their minds from creating an actual exit. So Caine probably has a suspicious act going on, but I think there’s a lot more trauma going on here than meets the eye. Especially when each character has their own personality and identity that leave a certain level of trauma. Perhaps he’s particularly choosing those who play the game almost always since the real world to them is terrible, unfortunately, he’s never really got the hang of the game’s true purpose. So he just creates this kind of simulation to make it more realistic and/or relatable. At first, it felt like a good idea. But in actuality, it wasn’t.

I've seen people hate on Pomni for "making Kaufmo abstract" when she probably had 0 idea there were other people in the digital world. And even if she did know, I doubt she'd know that entering it would cause one of them to abstract But I will say, the proof of they have is great, I love hearing others theory's, even if they try and start an argue with me about it 😅

Goose revealed that the queen character is called queenie and while I like the thought of the queenie kinger relationship, it wouldnt quite make sense considering nobody remembers their life before the Circus. So they might have been together and even joined the Circus together, but then probably forgot their connection. That'd also be a pretty sad and cool concept tho.

There was a black mirror episode where people thought they got trapped in a digital world but it turned out they were just a convincing ai replica of their real living self. In that episode they were planning on contacting there real self to just delete them, until they found out they can just escape into online mode while the game was updating to be free to do whatever they want in the servers.

I don't think the game has a limit to characters. If that were the case, i think they would have been cluded in Kaufmo had abstracted or was going to abstract much sooner rather than having no idea about Kaufmo's abstraction because everytime one of them joined, someone else would be abstracted and they would have picked up on the pattern or at least Caine would have

Ah, abstraction a fate worse then death you might say. There are a lot of things about the show that we don't know, but what I do know is that Kinger is my spirit animal.

my theory is that cane is like a lone devoloper who can leave the game and that the computer and hedset we see belongs to him. It would explain why they couldn't find cane prior to her finding the exsit, why he can fix things so easily (by fixing the code), and why the person on the websire looks like cane himeself. Maybe, he was making a project for the company and they released it with out it being ready due the demand being high. Like how Security breach was let out when it still had lots of bugs because a lot of people wanted it.

I never ever thought that I will ever get to see the character that happened to be the combination of Pikachu and Shrek like at all. Can anyone imagined this character saying "Pika Pika Shrek" as the catchphrase?

I think the theory that Pomni's entrance caused Kaufmo's abstraction isn't accurate, due to it limiting freedom of choice I think what's more likely is that, when Pomni put on the headset, it put her into a coma-like state, and only added her once Kaufmo abstracted. This would get rid of the timing issue (which is based on coincidence, poor storytelling) as well as fit your theory that the code can only hold so many people at once.

Being “abstracted” is a little to similar to Madoka Magica. Same concept, when the magical girls fall into grief they turn into “witches”, unrecognizable monsters and cannot turn back

The one across the dog reminds me of the "thing" attached to that one cat ball toy that vibrates.

The thing about Glitch Studios using religious stories as inspiration doesn't really work here, since the show wasn't created, written, or directed by Glitch, and Gooseworx, the person who did all of that, has already been very open about the story's inspiration being I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream, which is a much better parallel.

According to when Kaufmo tries to chase Pomni, You could see 2 more characters if you could focus on the left. The first one in the Kaufmo chase seems to just be like a blue squid thingy. The other one seems to be a greenish yellow clown with orange hair looking like a fox or a furry.

I think I know what the crossed out ant eater thing that is green and orange. My guess is that most of the characters in TADC (the amazing digital circus) are toy themed. So I think that the ant eater is a "Worm on a string" and is an actual toy. (It might be related with something related to tiktok since it was popular in 2020-2021 I think.) This is why Caine doesn't want them to go to the void:so basically the exit door is not the only way out instead you can see in the movie that they went 2 times in the void then you can see the things in the table that could be the only thing that pomni had putted in her face so that means Caine doesn't want them to leave his creation

1:30 the 'blank mannequin' isnt a placeholder, they are an actual character. there is a scene where Pomni opens a door and they are taking a bath, which they seem to get angry at, and retaliate by launching an angry, red mask at Pomni, which dents the door leaving an impression as Pomni slams it.

maybe the characters human forms were in trouble with authority. obviously at separate times but there is a queue of people who put on their headsets but are waiting for something. once there is an available spot, the next worthy character gets selected. once the character is made and booted into the game, the human looses consciousness which cues the execution.

The copied brain in to the computer idea sounds similar to the game “Soma” Except the characters in Soma retained their memories. Still an interesting idea and has a lot of terrifying implications

i personally like to think that the circus, while originally just a game, was turned into a punishment of sorts for criminals, like especially bad people have the headset forced on them to keep them trapped in the circus with slowly dwindling sanity or something like that.
