Thank you so much for the ride along Colonel. I am especially honored to be traveling in your mobile command vehicle! Great narration too. Stay safe and well.
So clean. Not to fancy.Everything looks perfectly in place.Doesn't seem to be cluttered they build things kind of apart not to close together. Its very nice.I love when you take us in the buildings where you shop and eat. Those places or so Beautiful.Thank you for taking us on the tour.I see its more active and more trees in that neighborhood.
Everything looks so clean and new. Although, it looks very spread out, but maybe it is more than one city. Some of those buildings are really cool looking. Another wonderful City tour video. Thanks Steve.
Fascinating architecture Colonel particularly the "Coin" reminds me of a giant powder compact.😊 The roads are so clean, a credit to the society. Thank you I found this tour very interesting. Love to view other cultures. Apartment living seems the preferred home of residents there. Thank you, take care.xo😊❤xo
I love these videos! So interesting...from a place we'll never see. Wondering if people are "polite" when using the round a bouts. Here instead of yielding, most people gauge whether or not they can beat you! I guess I'm asking if there are "jerk drivers" in the UAE?
Everything is so clean - even with all the construction - everything is clean! And not one homeless or drugee tent in sight. Wow! The lack of traffic is such a treat to see. Guess when all the apartments get full, it will be a different story, so enjoy it while it lasts Colonel. Thanks for the well-narrated driving tour.
I noticed that, too! People here in the United States through things out their windows - like out their windows is the garbage can! It really angers me.
@@Nan-59 True. Another thing I have noticed is we have not saw any homeless folks. We could do so much better here in America. All of the wasted tax payer money could be put to much better use. We have a beautiful country. We should be taking better care of it...and the ones who live here.
Love these video's. Everything is so clean and new. Didn't notice one pothole. With all those apartments they must have a lot of grocery stores around. No one strip mall, I guess everything is inside these buildings. Thanks for the tour.
Thanks for the ride along beautiful buildings my first house in 1986 my husband and I built was 176 dollars a month could not imagine 3 or 5 thousand a month wow!
So refreshing not to hear loud banging noise coming from other vehicles! Also no traffic and cars swerving in and out of lanes. Nice!!! Would love to see more of the ocean and water activities. Thanks Steve. God bless and keep you.
Thank You So Much Steve. Felt Like We Were There. You’re Very Thoughtful To Take Us Along On Your Wonderful Drive Alongs!!!! Mother And I Appreciate All That You Do! “JESUS IS THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, AND GREATLY TO BE PRAISED!!!”
can we have more 'Sunday drives with the Colonel'. i will never be able to travel. this is a great way for us to travel, ask questions and even maybe get history. (when you give us the names we know what to look up) . to see the areas from an American..a southern American point of view is nice. thank you.
I asked about neighborhoods a long time ago. Delighted to see and get a visual Steve. Glad everything isn't a highrise kind of living. Thx Steve and plz stay safe.
Wow!! That is so awesome and beautiful sure beats us not to say we are bad but the place is so beautiful even the place that were supposes to be not so nice is nice .Thank you for sharing I do love to see these places.God Bless
@@PhyllisStokes yes it has! I wish I was there to see it all. That was my daily jogging path and I miss it so much. I’m back in US Texas and it’s so …meh.
Thanks for the tour Steve I am so amazed by the beauty, quality of buildings, infrastructure and vegetation. With all of those apartments both built and being built it seems a shame to have you packed into a little hotel room with no kitchenette. Oh well I'm sure they will find you better accomodations soon. Hope you have a great day and I look forward to hearing from you again and sending hugs your way 💌
I think it’s beautiful there yet a little unnerving bc of all the ppl not being seen out and about, although I understand the temperature facts. Thanks foe taking us around town and explaining life there. Sure wish the USA would pick up on there way of keeping the streets safe. As I read through the crime rate comments, I had a urge to move my family there foe safe keeping. Thank you for the tour and info. Thank you for your service to our great nation. Enjoy your time away from home. 👍🏻
Traffic circles are numerous in my neck of the woods and I have to say they are not my favorite - mainly because drivers don't remember or care about the rules for driving in a traffic circle - Good times! 😬🙄 Thanks for the tour, Colonel! Looking forward to the Palm islands tour!
Thanks Colonel. I could live in Abu Dhabi as long as there is television and movies. Stay inside all day and only go out at night. All mute due to the cost. Nice tour and interesting.
Thank you for showing us part of this beautiful country! Keep well Colonel! I like these videos also. What kind of work do people do to afford $3009-$5000 per month? What is there mean income?
What amazing architecture! So you’re giving directions, “ turn left at the pineapple building, go five miles turn right at the coin building”, 🤣🤣. I know what I’ve been missing on these road trips now, it’s green grass, power lines, big trees. So many apartments, but they’re all very nice. I’m not used to that much highway and no traffic for sure. 😂. Thanks for the ride and sharing your knowledge! I love seeing this part of the world.
Abu Dhabi is a relative green paradise compared to about 5 miles outside the city. They really go to great lengths to plant trees and plants here. It's quite the watering effort, as you can imagine.
They have improved both Khalifa City and MBZ city. I've seen whole neighborhoods in Khalifa that were incredibly green. Trees, bushes, grass, you name it.
Well, yes! Can’t be compared to SEA. It is clean, organized, well planned. You sure don’t see trash, homeless shelters, druggies, drunks. They do have leadership with clear head on their shoulders. USA missing all that with it’s fake democracy.
I appreciate the update as I left in 2018. Yeah, I remember the giant throat lozenge building at Al Raha. Abu Dhabi is certainly calm most the time. Not much to do other than dining and malls. Great travel hub. Excellent food, too. I recommend a minimum six figure income unless you are also being compensated generously. E.g, I was US Gov, so not quite six figures, but our 'case' did shell out a good chunk of change for prime accommodations on the Corniche, rental car, phone plan, etc. Overall, a very decent experience for the family. I count us fortunate to have lived in Abu Dhabi when we did.
@@PhyllisStokes I was astonished at all the development you cammed at Al Raha. Similarly, I got a progressive view of Warner Bros theme park being built as I passed Yas Mall on my daily commute. Never a dull moment.
@@PhyllisStokes yes, the first actual stop sign there was no stop just a slow to look both ways then going right on thru. Be careful especially when your not home home (u know what I mean). Be safe Colonel for your family. I remember teaching my daughter to drive & told her to always make a 3 second stop even when there's no one around because I guarantee you someone will be watching, sure enough years later her & her two girl friends were cruising off highway around the fields & she said it was pitched dark & on their way back at the last stop sign going to the highway she didn't completely stop & she knew it because she felt no one was around But she got pulled over for it. She said mom you were right I should've stop. Thank you for letting me rant. Blessings to you & mrs. Ritter.
Thank you! So interesting to see other places. I noticed you didn’t encounter a lot of traffic. Is that b/c it isn’t a work day? Again, thank you for sharing this.
That's right, Amy. There are only a couple of roads that will back up a bit during the busiest traffic times. Traffic here really is not that bad at all. I saw much worse in Charleston, SC!
Every one of those homes looked massive. The white part of the bridges looked like bicycle.wheels with spokes. What is the coin building used for? Loved the video.
There are, though not as many as in the States, I think. Some friends from work foster Salukis that a local rescue center pick up off the street. They're watching 3 right now!
I would think sitting at a light with the car's air conditioner running is not a good thing! Lots of lights would mean lots of sitting still. It runs the engine temperature higher, the ambient temperature is already so hot there, an engine block running in a city must be unbelievable hot!🌡️(we had an engine block crack in one of our trucks a few years ago that way)
That was fun! First thing I thought of, was the fact I'm really poor 😬 🤣🤣🤷♀️ I'm curious, have you and your family always lived urban? Being in the military would that be the case? I grew up in southern rural Appalachia (back in the sticks). I've never lived in an apartment or a city. I can't fathom such a thing. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice place to visit (everything is real convenient) but I just can't see myself living there all the time. I like the silence of rural living. 🙂
Not really, Gidget. Suburbs and on military bases. Never really lived in the city until I came to work here last year. I do miss the peace and quiet sometimes.
John Stossel did a video about roundabouts. In the US, there’s far less accidents and much cheaper. Some governors are realizing this and switching over.
It’s always nice when you take us out and about. It’s a beautiful country and they keep it clean. Is there much crime? The one building really does look like a pineapple. As always thank you for sharing. God Bless
There are some not-so-swanky areas where many of the service workers live. They are by no means slums--the government wouldn't put up with that. There are laws protecting tenants. There aren't any out-of-work folks here. Only reason give work visas is for folks to work. No job, no visa and home you go. Very few living off the government here.
