I don’t care what haters say about Nigeria, all I know is that Nigeria has a great potential and is the most beautiful nation in Africa. Take it or leave it, when you even consider the fact that this giant of Africa has a population of over 200 million most hard working, diverse and creative people in Africa then you’ll get the idea. Nigeria is the best kept secret of Africa. Check her out in the next 10 years from North to South and East to West. I rest my case.

Nigeria has both positive and negative aspects of it, just like Ghana and other countries. People like you expect perfection from Nigeria based on your stereotypical perception of it. I don't care if your grandmother is from Calabar. That's more reason you should respect Nigeria. I don't disrespect my grandmother's people.

For ease of doing business, embassies and high commissions need to be in the federal capital! Lagos is no longer Nigeria’s capital! Although some countries have retained there former embassy buildings as consulates, and indeed some of these consulates can still renew passports for their citizens living in Lagos, as well as issue visas to Nigerians wishing to visit their countries!

For those who think Abuja doesn't have buildings, I want to remind you that, due to the city's planning, buildings are hidden from the major roads, except you go into the streets. RU-vid videos of Abuja are pathetic. I can't imagine a city with roads and trees, without buildings. Abuja is the administrative capital of Nigeria. It is a purpose built city. The city doesn't have a developed financial service sector like Lagos or Nairobi. That's why the Abuja central business district is just about 30% built up. The Abuja master plan was taken from Islamabad, Brazilia, Milton Keynes (England) and suburban America.

Even 245 years, the United States has more ugly beat down cities. What's wrong with some folks' unrealistic expectations of Nigeria. Abuja is stunning, nothing more.

David : Whilst i commend the content of this video i was shocked to observe that you almost killed a pedestrian who was almost half way accross a Zebra crossing. This was along Kashim Ibrahim Way. The man with his shopping bags was almost 50m from your vehicle and you never gave him a chance. He had to stop walking along the crossing as you accelerated the velocity of your speed. Is this how you guys drive in your Country??? Don't you give due care for pedestrians? Someone should call the cops.

The thing with Abuja , which no other city in Nigeria has( and I hope this mindset is maintained forever) is that they were intentional with their constructions. Which means when they build, they build solidly! This gives stability and longevity to the infrastructure ! In many other of our cities, it is a lacklustre, half-for-do mediocre approach! Today, Lagos is smashing people's big homes of 10/15 years standing , saying they are in the wrong places! Jumbled up !

I think many Africans equate development as advancement at the expense of the natural environment. To clear some of these larger commercial, apartment dwellings is a huge expense and should not be arbitrarily placed on communities who then cannot see or enjoy nature. On such beautiful spaces such beauty can be placed and many can reside [those with the blood designated] and districts for hotels, embassies, industrial complexes as needed [not overdeveloped] taking the workers needs in mind [seating, resting spaces, bathrooms placed so they are easily repaired and aired]. These spaces should not be randomly thrown up as if the populace needs more and ever more of these structures. Huge amounts of land spaces are damaged when this is done and no one can just walk out and enjoy the sun, wind, rain, etc. Whoever, for the most part, is taking part in this destruction saying it looks modern and this is what wealth is about is ruining the earth. Submit a plan for areas of this magnitude. Most of this must be taken down. Electricity poles, gas pipelines forget it. There are so many ways to bring electricity and gas directly to the buildings without this ridiculousness. Pavement over every space - forget it. Overproduction of cars blocking out the sun and natural environment - forget it. Street after street grids - forget it. Putting buildings all out in center so it blocks and all areas look the same - forget it. African has it own unique flavor so I'm not trying to control this but coming from the west this is no good what you are doing.
