Well done Craig, turning a clapped out old bike into something we could all be proud of. Regards Michael

Craig, I hope you have some younger audience members than me at 76 years, because what you have done is a lesson in a bit of elbow grease, attention to detail, and patience and you can restore tatty items to as new condition for a fraction of the cost of new, and get to know your machine, great stuff.

Kids these days seem to be lacking the meaning of elbow grease. In the shop we just replace the calipers for cost effectiveness but then I get to bring the odd one home to rebuild for myself.

That swingarm and caliper is looking really smart. Slightly brave move using a non-genuine kit, I've tried pattern seals before, it was a right fight gettting them in. After all that swearing in and when i finally did they leaked like a sive, I ended up shelling out on an OEM set. I'm putting off fork seals at the moment because of cost for OEM

Hello Chap, with a man of your great talents I am surprised that you have not built a home made tumbler/polishing machine to clean parts like these! I am sure you could make it cheaply out of scrap and second hand parts. It would be something you would use all the time with your builds and would save you hours of time in the long run.

Fantastic job Craig. As a Suzuki fanboy for the last 40 years I love it when you work on Suzuki's or anything Japanese really 👍👍👍

I bought a home dental kit for removing the old seals etc ( couple of £ off ebay) and the plastic backing off my Tense machine pads are ideal for inserting the pistons, and a set of dremel wheels for clearing the seal seats....So much easier

Great upload Craig, fantastic attention to detail. It looks like the guy with the electronic ign, were trying to pull a fast one. Despicable people. I have had a guy rip me off with some pulleys. I wanted them machining to slightly alter them, and after 2 months of having them and doing nothing to them, I asked for them back. He claimed he had sent them 2¹/² weeks ago, by sighted for delivery.. But amazingly can't find the receipt with the tracking number on as proof. £175 worth of irreplaceable pulleys vanished, and I haven't a leg to stand on. Gutted.

Do you use barrier cream on your hands? I personally prefer gloves when handling solvents with oils dissolved in them. Also remember not to smoke near your hands before the petrol has evaporated away 😢😮😅

That brake unit looks really good. On the ignition evilbay are very hot on people advertising used stuff as new. Give the seller an opportunity to return your money plus postage (if they want it back), but if that doesn't happen quickly evilbay will refund you and take matters up with the seller. It happened to me. Possibly the seller didn't know it was used but it is up to them to be 100% certain before they advertise it as new.

It is nice to see things come back to life, my guess is that lots of viewers have similar projects tucked away in their sheds ( guilty DR350) much cheaper to see you spending and me enjoying 😂

I always use copper grease on the slides Craig
@scooby06sti
@scooby06sti 2 месяца назад
Copper grease should never be used on anything that comes into contact with rubber as it will degrade the rubber over time.

@stevehopkinson4871
@stevehopkinson4871 2 месяца назад
@@scooby06sti well if you put it on the slide it doesn’t come in contact with the rubber because the rubber is on the outside of the caliper all your doing is keeping the caliper lubricated on the slide
@scooby06sti
@scooby06sti 2 месяца назад
@@stevehopkinson4871 but the slide pins go into a rubber boot, no? Or are you on about the pad retaining pin which should have no grease on it anyway.

Hey Craig. Enfield looking great. I noticed when assembling the brake calliper you installed the piston with the solid end facing the disc. I have always put the piston in with the open end facing the disc. Is it optional or is this a special calliper design ? Just wondering. Cheers, Dan 👍🏍🇨🇦

Why in the world don't you make a sand blaster cabinet? With your skllls you could make one in a day easily and save you hours and hours a month. On this one project only it would pay for itself in hours saved.

G’day Craig I take it that lad that owns it isn’t going to be “ bush bashing “ because if he does you’ve done all this work for nothing. I don’t understand why you’re doing all this one good ride in the bush and that’s it, which it was designed for…..John
