It always makes me chuckle when Blue pops in to check on you, and make sure you're OK. 😊

A nice little trick for catching small parts you are parting off is to use a bit of aluminum welding rod. that way you don’t have to use a drill. Great stuff as always, Craig!

I love the looking for a drill thats in your hand,. At 66 years old, no matter how organised I am I spend more time looking for stuff then doing any work on my bikes. 😆

I made 3/16 hard brakelines to replace ugly old hoses. I cut the banjos off and brazed them to stainless lines. I have no lathe or mill,so its the best i could do. Really,it worked well.

50/50 solder works best. 50% tin/50% lead. 60/40 solder works okay but flows quicker leaving more possibility of leakage into the fitting orifice. Always clean fittings and use acid flux when soldering.

Two main things with that beeza Its an early "long stroke" model And its twin carb Very different engine from the later a7 plunger

The treads on oil tank etc are mainly whitworth and imperial BSF threads. Maybe pipe threads which i believe are special rounded in profile. Im not totally sure even with precision engineering background as i learned turning in metric in switzerland over 22 years ago.

Craig i had a complete wrecked barn find rusty seized in 1982 for £200. Keep it, most dont know thhese lovely star twin. The most beautiful 500cc parallel twin ever made apart from 1939 tiger 100 with bronze head for racing the first triumph to do 100mph and the brass head ones were very limited specials for racing 10 or so was only made. That era of british parallel twins was the cream of beautifully styled, simple functional bikes that were easy to work on for home mechanics. My dad took engine out, had a spare tiger 100 engine, pulled a sidecar doing London to Birmingham not long after WW2. He came from Kettering. He would love your you tube channel and the trumpet did over 100000 miles on the same barrels but had rebore, new pistons, clutch plates, yeah with cork inserts and new valve guides and grinding in. Id luv you to have real old 50s 60s 70s and earlier classic british bikes more but yeah getting spares might mean owners clubs etc. Cant wait to see more on this A7 and for me its the best bike vlog ive seen up to now on you tube or anywhere else. Nice one mate. Blue for sure will go mad when its started😂

I've got a BSA A7 Star Twin from 1949 at very similar condition. You need to be asking at about £6.5k as a fair price for it once she's back up and running.

I think that the old Beeza would attract a few grand more than the £4995 you mentioned Craig. More common 60s twins in pretty average condition are now in the 5 grand plus area.

I had a rusted wwreck with totally seized engine. Its my favourite BSA or british bike rigid framed twin. Its worth 5K so rare and clean. Its the earlier A7 engine. A mate had one too for years. Its not for speed, its detuned and magneto ignition dynamo. I had single carb on mine and the frame was made out of gunmetal. Craig its a keeper even if u need to sell your other bikes. The pleasure, style and uniqueness youll get riding it, you wont enjoy other bikes the same i believe. I had a 1955 golden flash i learned mechanics on. I would luv it and would try and beg, steal, borrow or sell my body to a girl who wasnt a hottie😂. Mate ive never enjoyed riding a bike as much as my golden flash and this year and model of the first BSA A7 rigid was so rare, not many were made. Pushrod valves iron head and cruise at 50 mph and they do last. I saw this for sale last month. Typical it would end up with u but im so so glad. So if its up for sale in future id luv first option please or would pay over 5 k😢❤❤❤❤

I thought the Y piece was going to be something simple like a bit of brass with one hole up from the bottom maybe turned at 45 degrees at the top and drilled in to join the middle hole but NO far from it a far different approach like most of your ideas!! Amazing!!! Are you fitting the WASSEL MICRO electronic kit again I remember you were pretty taken with one I watched you fit on a previous build? Cheers and give Blue a stroke from me!!!

Hi Craig, what's the seat height on theStar Twin please. I'm a S.A. Another brilliant vid. Paul Lucas..
@Ian-bq7gp
@Ian-bq7gp 2 месяца назад
Theyre very low, ive had one and the original seat was sprung single seat. Its like a honda CG125 in hight but well designed. Spares like original centrestand, cycle parts, mudguards will be rare but some were used across a few models like maybe B31, M21.
