My favorite feature on the gen 2 humidifier is the onboard VPD control. And if you're struggling to grasp VPD like I was, check out this video I made breaking it down: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TPBrsJVEdSQ.htmlsi=ZAIDwj08UTS2xhlP

These lil humidifiers are a gem to have in your environment. Used in conjunction with your inline air intake fan is essential. I'll turn the air intake pretty much off, and only have it turn on when needed.. (intake fan is run on temp/ hum sensors like a “Inkbird” )You do not want it pulling valuable humidity out( like in early veg). Also remove carbon filters until flowering time.. Then a slightly lower humidity for remaining cycle… You'll definitely see explosive growth when run in a good VPD parameter. This really makes all the difference in the world 😮… when your dialed in you'll notice your system doesn't have to work hard.. You can zip it up and let it do its job… This should be taught early on like choosing good genetics..😊

Is there a filter I can buy for the fan just for bugs and stuff? I keep my charcoal filter on for any potential moths because of my indoor/outdoor hybrid situation. I'll probably just end up making a custom bug filter if not.
It will by design. That's just what happens when moist air condenses near the exit of the conduit. As the directions state, you need to have the pipe angled up so the condensate drips back down into the reservoir.
Does dechloinated filter water work well enough to avoid the white film dust? Or must it be full RO or distilled water from the store? I have a great dechlorinating filter but not sure if it will be enough. Thanks.
It’s my understanding that distilled water removes all biological matter, greatly reducing the risk of mold/mildew growth in the humidifier. Cigar humidors will only use distilled water for this reason. RO water removes all metals but not all biological matter which leads me to believe that you wouldn’t have the white salt build up but still run the risk of mold/mildew. Dechlorination will leave you with metals and biological material still present so it would not be ideal. With this said, I guarantee tons of people run all sorts of water ranging from these above all the way to tap water through their humidifiers - and probably just end up having to sterilize and clean them more often. Maybe a water expert can jump in here and let me know if I missed anything or am misunderstanding!
@@HappyHydrothanks for the reply. Yeah my biggest concern is just trying to avoid the white film dust that gets all over the tent walls and what not. I currently use an evaporative humidifier with my dechlorinated water and it works great at preventing dust but it’s tough to get the humidity up past 60% or so. Therefore I’m hoping the AC infinity one will get me into those 70-80% range to get more rapid growth in veg.
@@chicagoangler That's almost certain to be calcium from the TDS in your tap water. A dechlorinating filter (presuming it's activated carbon like most are) isn't going to change the TDS by any meaningful amount, its objective is mostly improve taste/smell by removing the byproducts of chlorine-based disinfection. It's not for reducing TDS (total dissolved solids, mineral content). For that, you'll need distilled water or RO/DI water. RO water will have very low TDS that is probably good enough, but adding the DI stage will bring that to zero. Just be aware, if you use RO/DI or other zero/low-TDS water for plants, you need to supplement those minerals you removed that your plants need. Typically this is done via "cal-mag" supplements to add good TDS back. Your tap water will have a non-zero ppm of bad TDS like e.g. sodium which is why it's good to remove it.

I'm also having trouble getting mine to work on auto function. It is either on or off 😅, I'm hoping there is a way to set it so that when the grow room drops below X% it'll turn on then shut off again and maintain the humidity
