Those schrader valve tools are golden. As you said serious time savers. It's one of those tools that raise your confidence of not blowing an afternoon

1234yf , I usually call it Twelve Thirty Four Yf. I have an old Snap On leak detector that does R12 as well as 134A, that I bought in the mid 1980s. I’ve been planning to buy that Robinair leak detector.I wasn’t aware that Mastercool made a socket for quick release fittings. Thanks for the video!

The UVbeast lights are awesome. I have the big unfiltered one and it seems to work with any ac dye I can find. Much better than other inexpensive lights I have found. I believe I paid 60 bucks at the time.

the ATS kits are great for very small leaks, I would only use the material for very small leaks due to cost. I will be using pressurized nitrogen and soapy water otherwise whenever I can lol

Conspicuously absent from this discussion is something that could detect what refrigerant you’re actually working with, an identifier. Some scoundrel trying to game the system could ruin your whole day (and bugger up your equipment and supplies.) You need to be prepared for this.

the reason some dyes dont reflect with all UV lights is the spectrum used by the dye manufacturer. Get a multispectrum UV light and you will be good to go for all the diff dyes

I have a leak detector put out by autool it isnt expensive and it it detects 134a now it's not directly a AC leak detector just for the automotive industry the one I have it covers like 410 r22 and different ones down on when I know it does not cover is one want the new one 1234 YF that's the one I use and it seems to work pretty good and it has a sensitivity setting on it

I've got the power probe they really need to do something better those probes don't hang on vents very well. Half the time they fall off. I've also found compared to a fluke better with the thermometer it's about 10 degrees off what it says.

If the vehicle was more than a few years old, I automatically replaced the Schrader valves when doing an A/C service. Only takes a moment and cheap insurance for reducing comebacks.

Keep in mind with Co2, not to exceed the systems pressure limit. Never go beyond 200 psi or you'll be pulling money out your own pocket. Weld equipment can easily exceed this limit.

20/30/40 minutes for yf evac/recharge? nah, our robinair takes almost 40 minutes if the system is already empty. Add at least another 40 minutes if it has to evac.

Sold a lot of my tools to move on to a better carer and I don't miss it at all. It turned out to be a thankless job that I would encourage young folk to find a better job than this crap, everyone is called a Tech, more like a mule with no name. Your nothing more than a slave to the industry. If you hurt yourself fixing cars, you life will be over. Just because you want a great career, not worth wasting your time.

@@frankstavalo5788 I work as a electrician helper and I made more money and a lot less stress and I got bonuses and paid Holliday's. I don't think all trades are like automotive. I sold my snap-on toolbox for what I paid for and that is now my foundation for my Retirment which is very soon. I turn wrenches for many years, and I will tell you, I don't miss the bullshit scammers and there is no honor with these crooked shops operating. Private places and people like Ivan from pine hollow are a great example of how it should be done! Honesty is Golden. For example. Ford fiesta comes in for rotating tires and all the lugs need replacing and we do the job ,I look at the ticket and i almost shit 1,100. Really sad. I walked out that day. Never looked back.

Shops invest in tools? LMAO Shame because testing with cheaper gases and proper billing would save $$$ in the long run.
@eugened41

Why talk tools when half of these so-called mechanic's can't read a clock. Most of these folks are scammers for a small company and are looking to have one job that pays for the whole shop for the month. The beat keeps going and that's all I see is angry customers paying through the nose for things that are not broken. Simple oil change turns into a thousand dollar's and everyone in the shop knows that there ripping them off. Sad to say that I don't want anything to do with criminals in this industry!

More like Karen goes in for an oil change on her shitbox that's 4,000 miles overdue and finds out her front end suspension is shot or she's been slamming into curbs You have no idea what you're talking about
