School in South Africa are something like 1 dollar a year. Schools that hire extra teachers at their own cost, charge up to $150 a year. Expensive private schools (attended by blacks and whites) are gaining popularity, because the state run schools are so pathetic. The biggest problems for state schools is drunk teachers and vandalism by the community. No pupil are allowed to be refused entry into schools because of a lack of funding. Unmarried women gets a social grant off about $100 per child per month. Tertiary education is expensive. But there are plenty of bursaries for African children. (Which for some reason includes Chinese children.)
