Bohemian Rhapsody discussion with actors Rami Malek, Lucy Boynton, Joseph Mazzello and Allen Leech, and producer Graham King on November 3, 2018 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater. Moderated by Dave Karger.
I disagree. He's a lovely actor and obviously a really nice person, but he completely misses Freddie's accent, cheekiness, self-confidence and humour. And, more sadly, Freddie's charisma and 'strut'.
i really agree i mean like bohemian raphsody is the best film in the world and this is FREEDIE MERCURY the legend of the time. and i absolutely really agree that rami deserve get oscar in 2018
Guys, can we please acknowledge the fact that Rami always kept mentioning the full names of the people he was talking about. Giving credit where credit is due in a very natural and not forced way like "oh I have to mention these people or I'll look bad", ya know? What a guy.
I can't find the article or site I saw it on, but I know I read that Rami had a particular nickname on the set of Mr Robot because he fastidiously learns the names of all the crew and everyone so as to be on first name basis with them. He truly is a class act.
@@roberthmartinezharo2951 Me too...he absolutely deserves it...but there have been many times, guys deserve it and don't get it....val kilmer in tombstone...him not getting nominated for his legendary role of doc holiday is a sin....so I hope rami gets it..and wins...
Too many others this year- golden globes noms are out in 2 weeks- that’s usually a preclude to the oscars- so far it’s been a Star is born and greenbook
Rami needs that Best Actor Oscar for his stellar portrayal of Freddie. And to see how much care he put behind it, just wow. He is an amazing actor, he more than deserves the acknowledgment.
jajceboy I dont think it's locked. And I believe what Rami did was much, much harder to do than what Cooper did. Bradley did great, but Rami's performance was something else. If Cooper wins with Rami in the category, I do not think that's fair. One role is not like the other.
Sid Vicious I might when I watch the movie, but from the trailer no way. Besides, playing Freddie is something much harder to pull off than the run of the mill role, I think people are forgetting that.
@@ginita105 of course one role isn't the same as another, that's the point. Bradley worked just as hard to create a character. Fictional characters are harder to pull off than real life characters because you have nothing to work with, everything is from scratch. You must work harder to convince people. I do think it is a lock for Bradley. He was amazing
I thought maybe that could be influenced by Freddie. Freddie was a very intelligent, genuine and elegant storyteller. And as Rami listened and watched all interviews of Freddie, it’s normal that he adopted some of Freddie’s manners. Adding to Rami’s natural charisma, we’ve got a terrific quintessence of a human characteristics in one person.
THIS is how all actors should be: humble, gracious, and above all, cooperative. All artistic works are a collaboration and the idea that one actor is more important than another because they're more famous is bullshit that Hollywood invented early on that seriously needs to die because it is not at all like that in the real acting world. Rami shows how real actors behave and work together with others in order to tell a single story together to move the world. Someone get this man an Oscar.
I've been seeing him full freddie in most interviews but this one i saw Mr.Robot...He was analyzing and his eyes would get big lmao...Which would make sense...don't look still too much freddie after the fact, because it will hide how much he acted for the role..which i think is important to show the oscars
Love that Rami Malek is finally getting the recognition that he deserves! First saw him in the movie 'Night at the Museum' There's something about his aura that you can't really figure but still love him anyway. He's beautiful in every sense of the word. His portrayal of Freddie is just brilliant!
@@TyroneBeiron Yes, and by the way, Joe Mazzello is brilliant in "The Pacific" and is not in any way overshadowed by Rami. That series won an Emmy, and there's a clip on YT showing the entire cast up on stage for the acceptance. Neither of these guys are strangers to award season, and more than anything, I'm rooting for this cast to win the SAG Award for Best Ensemble.
The first time i saw him was the trailer of BohRhap and i was actually curious about Rami more because of how amazing acting he was in the movie so i researched more of his movies, last week i watched the Trilogy of Night in the Museum and then currently, i'm in Season 2 of Mr. Robot, he's just a wonderful and a talented actor. Gotta love Rami Malek ❤
Rami Malek did a fantastic job in this role. Oscar-worthy performance, and I'm hoping he does get a nomination. He really channelled Freddie perfectly... or perhaps, Freddie came out of the cosmos and inhabited Rami Malek. And I think a little bit of Freddie stayed with Rami, too, as he has with all of his fans.
If I ever saw an Oscar worthy performance, this is it! Have seen the movie three times by now, and been in awe each and every time. What an incredible talent this man is!
I am sitting in the theater right now waiting for it to start. This will be my 20th time!!! Yes I know I'm slightly obsessed. I think this will be my last time!
Melanie Godwin I'm in the Brazilian rainforest for two months. Limited wifi and no movie theaters - so no way I can catch up! 😁 But crossing my fingers for the Academy Awards!
@@whiskeyrivers hey history shows it's better if it doesn't sit well etc...good thing it didn't become a box office smash because i remember McAvoy got snubbed for oscar nom
The more I watch real Freddie/Queen videos/pics, the more I see the physical diferences between him and Rami. That's why I'm enchanted: Rami is thinner, shorter, blue eyed, but he got the essence of Freddy . But it gets better: humble, smart, gracious. Thank you, Rami, you are a gift for us and you are gifted!
Nominations: Best Actor, Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Costume Design and Best Film Editing. Wins: Best Film Editing and Best Sound Mixing
Everything about this movie is a blessing, I really do hope the Academy recognize all these skilled talanted people's work this year, the performances alone are Oscar worthy
yes rami was absolutely fabulous, but what about the other guys?? they were so good! to me Gwilym Lee should win Best supporting actor, he did not just portray, he WAS Brian May, if you close your eyes you can barely distinguish their voices! perfect
Rami Malek pretty said it, at 14:25 or so he said he had the weight of the Queen fanbase on his shoulders. He didn't crumble under that weight, he brought Freddie back to us for a few hours.
I'd say, it's not about being white or black, but more about being american or non-american by heritage. Bc it's really important that oscar winning actors recent years were from Britain, France, Austria and many-many other places all over the worlds. And Rami's family is from Egypt. This is very important point in modern America (under Trump and his policy).
He put so much love and care into this role and it comes out in his amazing performance. It was much more that a role to him; it was a mission. He deserves that statue! He is such a class act the way he honors the work everyone did on the film and is constantly talking about the people behind the brilliant Mr. Robot.
I have to say I have always been against anything that tried to version in any shape or form Queen and Freddie, for me they are untouchable and Freddie is the biggest thing in music. But what this movie and Rami has done is so beautiful I have no words. They deserve all success!
Fantastic Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody .Bravo to all actors in this movie .Bravo to all behind and back the camera.Rami Malek he deserves to be nominated in Oscar and win.
I think Rami Malek deserves the Oscar as he embodies all the essence of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody film. His performance is outstanding and so convincing, I felt during the whole film I was watching and listening to the real Freddie Mercury. it happened the same with the other actors bringing Queen alive. I would like to also highlight the elegant and moving way in which the film is told and of course the sound and the costumes are fantastic.
Remi gave credit to the cast just like Freddie would do. My favourite movie of all time, I've seen it three times and will see it more before it leaves the theatre.
Whoever edited this clips, Thank you for not put an intro, a crowd shot, the host introducing the panel... etc, it's youtube and you are doing it right. kudos!
Holyy shittt can we just adore this factt apart from the interview which is incredible ofcourse but Rami looks breathtaking in this black outfit black is his true color omgg icant fcking breath those curly hairs and that sexy accent of him ❤💋💋
Ok...let's see, Oscars 2019: Rami got the Best actor nomination! And Bohrap is also nominated for the Best picture and three other nominations. Well, I'm not surprised. I just knew it from the first time I saw the movie. I've seen this movie four times so far! And since it's still in the cinemas, here in Italy, I will surely go to see it again. Nothing and noone can stop me!
One of the best movies I ever watched. Rami and the collaborative effort of everyone who put it together deserve a big applause and all the recognition for sure
He has the exact speaking voice of Freddie Mercury. Not the accent, but the voice. The ssssh voice with each S pronunciation. It's remarkable. And he has that jaw too, of Freddie Mercury, probably, because he also has teeth protuding out, which is cute and which made Freddie sexy
he performed incredibly great , there has never been any actor that have attempted to portray this Legend larger than live person the Great Freddy Mercury and the results were past excellent Golden Globe winner , best actor an Oscar really it was like seen Freddy Mercury.
