can someone explain to me why exactly she was listed as supporting role? in my opinion eddie redmayne was the main actor and alicia vikander was the main actress of the movie... both protagonists...

JoDeKeCh Yes I think so as well. I think that's just the way the academy is sorting the categories..

I kinda agree, though I guess in the Academy's categorising, perhaps you can only have one main actor/actress. So they had to put Alicia as supporting since Eddie already had the main spot.

I just found this video and I apologize for being so late. Your comment, IMO, hit the nail on the head for one big reason: Only one person is referred to in the dialogue as "that Danish girl" and it's not Redmayne's character. That made me wonder why Alicia was not nominated for best actress and Eddie for best supporting actor. But that was perhaps just me.

Yeah, that's a beautiful look/expression. Don't know why it's turned up in an interview, though? (I would expect that look towards the end of the actual movie...)

I found it hilarious & entertaining. Sure, the acting/plot isn't that great, but the costumes, sets (entire "look") and premise well make up for it.

+Dendokami wow. You need to chill... You have your opinion, and I am entitled to mine. They are called "comments". Also, one can say one performance is not as good as another - it does not mean I think Eddie is not good at what he does. I simply don't think this one is as convincing as some others he gave in the past.

It's because Alicia's character- Gerda is the main light of movie. Sometimes, the greatness of the actors depend on their roles.
