The Birth of Mesa Boogie: Mesa Boogie began as the brainchild of Randall Smith, who hot-rodded Fender Princeton amps to create a new sound that caught the ear of legends like Carlos Santana. Santana's exclamation, "This thing really boogies!" gave the amp its name. Early adopters included Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones, Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, Eric Johnson and Pete Townshend.
Thomas Blug's Journey with Mesa Boogie: Thomas himself was a dedicated Boogie user in his teens, earning the nickname "Blugie" due to his stereo setup featuring a modded Mesa Boogie Mark IIB and a modded Japanese copies that he put a logo on „Blugie“ that then became his nickname. Later, in the mid-1990s, he also utilized the Triaxis rack preamp, always keeping an ear out for Mesa's latest innovations.
As Mesa Boogie amps have adapted to meet the needs of guitarists over the years one of their biggest successes was the Rectifier series in the 1990‘s, that has shaped the sounds of renowned artists such as:
