So happy they have released this. I’ll be building it into my mixing desk so I control the DAW from the sweet spot and still access features I need when mixing. Excellent product

I’m gonna be completely honest, I wished a lot of companies did this make one awesome software and have a dedicated hardware controller. I think that would be the most amazing thing it’s like having hardware in a digital world is something about being able to feel those buttons and knobs and make changes, it just hit different!

Great video guys, thanks. Its even more fun when you have two UF8's, a UF1 and UC1 as there is less banking and you can find a track faster by hitting the select button on a track you want to go to.

It would have been bonkers if they worked on a better integration. But I have to admitted that even with the little done for the UF8 integration with Ableton Live, it’s still a huge plus for me. I can control every plugins params and most aspects of my tracks. There are just few things to make it really the best controller like allowing to use the “dead buttons” to be remapped. Or at last added the actual features like mapping all the automation buttons to Live automation features.

Isn't technology interesting. When computers were introduced into music production decades ago, we were told how we no longer needed mixing consoles and how we could now do everything inside the computer with unlimited tracks and virtual mixers. Today we're using DAW Controllers, Plugin Controllers etc to bring back the physical faders, knobs and buttons again. Having said that, i do love the SSL 360 concept and have already bought the UF1 and UC1. Not sure i really need the UF8 as i never use multiple faders at the same time but it's great eye candy though 😆

I cut my studio teeth on a Harrison console (and 2" MCI) so this appeals to me on many levels. I may order one soon from Andertons :)

@MikeSadlerAU 8 месяцев назад
I hope that SSL's aquisition of Harrison means some templates for Mixbus32C for all the SSL hardware at some point... the only alternative to the M32C channel strip and 'Mixbus' topology I use is loading SSL E channels and G bus anyway... I guess my love of inline consoles with 'per channel' features for the last 40 years has coelesced with the merger and all this great hardware and software 😎

The UF1 makes my old Faderport look like a toy. Too bad my DAW is not supported; also I think it should be optionally bus powered to make it easier to place in different parts of the room for home recordists and mobile rigs. I guess it's really only meant for professionals.

@@charliesilverman1132 Cakewalk. There probably is a way to get it to work in Cakewalk and Reaper; it's just not supported officially and there might be extra steps involved, whereas it should work reliably with easy set up in the supported DAWs (Logic, Pro Tools, Cubase, etc.). If you really want to get it and use Reaper, keep checking online for other users that have figured it out. Note that some functions still might not work without official support.

They actually work with 3rd party plugins as well. The rotaries and faders control the various parameters within the plugin and further ones can be accessed similar to using banks.

I’m so glad I don’t have this frame of thinking anymore. I would miss out on so much. I have two of the three along with the SSL12. And we’ll never go back to a mouse heavy. I will never invest in expensive control surfaces again that do not work stand alone. The weak link Is the computer and software updates , a mac is only good for about 10 years , an audio interface maybe a bit more like 15 before it’s no longer supported. I’ve had two studios completely fall apart due to osx no longer supporting hardware . So I am super skeptical of picking up a m2 pro… To me , if I have a working music setup , I shouldn’t have to update it ! And you can try stretching it but what got me every time was hard disk failures , and back up failures, forget cloud storage backups they won’t work in 10 years . However s digital mixing and recording console that uses SD cards if you so wish and needs no computer , your studio won’t be out and you gotta cough up 3-5 grand for a new Mac Pro or m2 pro. I love logic and au plug-ins , it’s just a problem that these things don’t last longer .
@maydaygoingdown5602
@maydaygoingdown5602 Год назад
I know what you mean, especially with Mac. I lost plenty of £££ through Mac's due to OS updates no longer supporting certain software's. I tend to just buy anything to do with software's for the studio on Windows platform now as I know I can still use them in the next Window's. I've still got plugins from using Windows XP pro that are still installing and working on Windows 11 Pro without issues.
@iRemainNameless
@iRemainNameless 7 месяцев назад
I hear what you're saying, but rolling back to an earlier OS is an option. Years ago I owned the old white macbook and it was a relic. I've never used hardware more productively ever. As long as your setup works as you intend at one point, then it should be futureproof as a snapshot of a setup. It might get outdated and unsupported, but remaining behind is an option to at least continue recording.

You would make so much money with the Home Producer.....Rather Hip hop, Pop, Country or whatever

Now...your v6 Channel Strip...sounds Great...and your v6 SSL Plugins..but you didtn sync that to your controllers...smfh
