@@IntrinsicallySomnia well who said he was going to become a goody guy like Touma. He was just depressed because he killed 10k+ innocent humans but these soldiers are his enemy's forces so he had to kill them
Accelerator was the only character in this series that I actually liked ... he's playing the persona of a ruthless psychopath as an attempt to intimidate others into *not* attacking him ... yet the attacks keep coming, so many fools wanting to die by his hand.
You're right, actually your statement was a reference to "To Aru Kagaku S" he wants to achieve an absolute power that beyond strongest so he can finally stay away from retards who keeps attacking him because of the reason to stole the title put from Accelerator the "Strongest". He is really empty, he is longing for a warmth since he literally had no one for him, he had to undergo a lot of experiments because of these scientists, and those who keep attacking him for the title of the "Strongest" . You can expect him grown emotionless because of these, but despite that deep down he wanted to change something. He accepted the LVL 6 Project to have the absolute power where no one will even try approaching fighting him so that it finally stop and once again maybe he can finally feel the warmth he felt before, but as the LVL 6 Project begun where he defeated Misaka Clones #1 is the start of making him more corrupted, where the scientist does not want them to be defeated but wants the clone to be dead to fully conclude it and as they are technically clones and him as like that he continue the project which makes him corrupt more one by one to the point he had this psycho mind that made him focus more on achieving the absolute power and forgetting the reason why he wanted it.
I loved Accelerator and Last Order, but I really couldn't stand a lot of the stuff that surrounded both of them. Their episodes, towards the second half of the series, always felt so out of place and weird. I also didn't like how basically everything that happened always traced back to the Sisters or Last Order in some way. Even in his own series, it's about necromancy and giant robots, but at the end of the day it's really about someone wanting to capture Last Order again so they can make use of the Misaka Network again so they can try to make a Level 6 again. At the same time, I also really loved Misaka as a character but absolutely couldn't stand how irrelevant she was throughout all of Index. Even at the very end, she hijacks a plane to get to Toma in the middle of this huge war and she still ends up doing nothing. The Railgun series really did her justice. Hell, it did itself justice by mostly getting rid of one-note Index and Toma. What's so interesting about a character who never changes or develops at all throughout three whole seasons? Toma had an interesting ability, but every single fight with him was always the same thing. Misaka uses her power in diverse and interesting ways, so it's always fun to see her fight. Accelerator is so overpowered that it's fun to see the crazy shit that he does with his powers. Toma doesn't even seem to change things up in a physical way. He doesn't even seem to ever become a better fighter.
@@xinf3ctdx "What's so interesting about a character who never changes or develops at all throughout three whole seasons?" I don't want to be that guy but the light novels are better in that respect. In the light novels, Touma does develop mentally, right from the get-go in fact. It's just that the adaptation cut it all out due to time constraints. He also develops as a fighter, honing his instincts and strategy throughout the series, but again, the anime is really bad at conveying it all.
@@aleistercrowley2215 toumas preaching and his self righteous behaviour is boring as hell accelerator is not annoying and he carries season 2 and 3 while touma stays the same preachy self righteous typical anime main character
Nah, this is more of an abridged version. Even Touma's restaurant fight with Vento was more bloodier. Vento attacks ripped apart the unconscious people as collateral damage to get to Touma.
Accel is just one of those bad guys I can't even really dislike simply because of how outrageously psychotic he gets. Like, normally I would want a character to get therapy if fighting makes them "climax", but with Accel it's more like "You do you, you crazy son of a bitch!"
+SuperGreenSmartie Tropes describe him as neutral good after joining GROUP and taking care of Misaka Misaka. Idk if I'd go that far but he's now a good guy at this point in the show.
Same as Bakugo and Karma too, yet Accelerator's Seiyuu is actually one of the most gentle and innocent seiyuus out there yet he always voices the crazy ones. It's absolutely amazing what he can do
I like to think he was exaggerating ^^;;;; I mean, the crazy only comes out when he has to fight, so I personally think it's like a mask for when he has to do bad stuff.
The beginning is actually pretty symbolic and interprets why Accelerator is the way he is and his situation, Accelerator is not good at heart (dark underpass) completely and is willing to turn over a new leaf (light outside the underpass) and JUST as he does some sort of bullshit (hound dog) stops him from achieving it he goes back into his dark heart (the underpass) and destroys whatever and whoever is in his way leaving destruction (explosions and fire) in his wake.
+Master Xar Yup, picked that up as well. That pause before he stepped into the light as well. The fact that he had to think and process the act of just going into the light, instead of just doing it is pretty accurate at describing the inner conflict he goes through. Whereas, Touma just runs right into the light without giving it a moment's thought. I think that's why I love them both, they're sort of the anti-thesis of each other, while at the same time exactly the same.
@@billcipher147 I know this comment is a year late. This is just the layout of the city. The original comment or said Accelerator is not good at heart, hence the dark underpass, but that is not true, so comment debunked.
He kills and he kills and he Kills all with a smile on his face. Terrifying his victims to the point of insanity. And he's a protagonist. He is, The Accelerator, master of vectors.
Ok, the Hound Dogs in general were a group of morons for thinking they could take on *Accelerator* (you know, the strongest esper in Academy City) with nothing but guns just because their boss trained him, but that last guy just takes the gold medal in sheer stupidity. He’s managed to get out of the factory (because Accelerator was distracted killing everyone else), he’s halfway to the safe point, backup’s right there, and Accelerator is a good distance behind him. So, what does he do? Completely stops in his tracks, turns around, and begins taunting the unstable death machine that just slaughtered his squad that they were going to kill Accelerator’s little-sister/daughter figure. Honestly, I think Accelerator did the moron a favor by putting him out of his misery.
Accelerator's vector shield has a time limit at this point, so him being the strongest esper only matters for 15 minutes. It makes sense they would use guns to stop him. And they also just watched Kihara beat Accelerator with his bare hands, it might've given them some confidence.
Wow...really.....Soldier...you just saw Accelerator take out all your guys without touching them. And none of your bullets scratch him..and the first thing you do is threaten his only friend? You deserve a Darwin Award.
The way he almost steps over the to the light side before someone tried to assassinate him is so... Wow. Perfectly symbolic. So many little things I've never noticed about this segment.
3:00 I got really interested in the light novel this series was based on, but when I got to this part: (He knew he could not stay, but he could not overcome the bursting feeling of release within him. As he chewed the crunchy and juicy delicacy in his mouth, he stood before the woman whose jaw he had blown off. “…Ohh, ohh. You look like you’d give great head now.” The woman missing the bottom half of her face jumped in shock and looked toward him. Accelerator could not imagine what expression was on his face. “How the hell can you live looking like that!? Don’t you fuck with me!!” He kicked the woman in the gut as she tried to crawl along the floor. Repeated sounds of dull impacts rang out. He kicked her 5 times, 10 times, 15 times, 20 times, and eventually her body suddenly disappeared into the darkness. Accelerator looked over to see a press meant for processing metal. He could see what looked like a cliff. It seemed metal products would be dropped in from a conveyer belt where the press would crush them together. The pit was about 3 meters deep and 10 meters square. A pile of empty cans and steel rods could be seen filling the bottom, so it may have actually been deeper. The woman struggled three meters down. With her injured arms and missing lower jaw, she was quite a pathetic excuse for a human being. But Accelerator felt no pity even while watching her. He glanced over at the corner where objects were brought into the press. Most of the equipment was operated from the control room, but some equipment appeared to be manually operated. A large button could be seen on the wall. And the woman seemed to understand what it was Accelerator was looking at. She seemed to begin begging while looking up towards him. “Afhhe… afhehh… farhhheh…” “Sorry,” apologized Accelerator while cutting her off. “Do you have any idea who you’ve made an enemy of?” He slammed his palm against the wall to press the giant switch. He did not hesitate in the slightest. The dull, dull noise of the motor reverberated throughout the facility. “Now then…” Without giving the woman even a parting glance, he let out a hot breath while once more resuming his patrol of the factory. “Where has my next prey wandered off to?” A smile tore across his face from right to left.) That was gruesome.
@@michellelo2480 I think it's understandable, the scene still conveys the feeling that he lost it and realizes he fucked up as soon as that one hound dog snitched him and basically ruined his chances of living a normal life again for what he just did.
@BlueLegend1991 I like to think that he's taken a lot of steps towards that goal, but the Dark Side of Academy City just doesn't want to let him go. But yeah, it's pretty good symbolism. Tragic too, but thankfully not for long, since he's getting closer to being good/happy.
Now since they came out with an Accelerator manga, I am hoping they come out with an anime of him. They'll get so much money. Accelerator is so fucking badass and everyone loves him and everyone wants to see more Accelerator and Last Order.
Every time he laughs he sounds like he's being ruthlessly tickled. I doubt anyone has ever tickled him in his life so I suppose the euphoria he's feeling when his adrenaline starts pumping is about as close as he can get to it.
+Sebastian Ley More like an odd context sensitive translation error... An alternative would be something like "this must be a joke" oh "you're joking". A simple re-arrange of the same words that can amusingly change the mood a lot.
banger episodes. man the symbolism at 0:22 will always get me, it's the first thing i noticed when i watched the episode. just like the positive step he took towards buying something nice for Last Order, he was about to take another step towards the light, and right out of the shadows after questioning his decision. too bad others attacked him just before we got to see it though.
Never threaten a psycho. But more importantly, never threaten to kill someone that psycho might care for. Then you get crushed by what I can only assume was a fridge.
That line somewhere around the start of the video (0:57) when he says he climaxed had me flummoxed, flabbergasted, bewildered, and revolt at the same time.
HOLY CRAP. I came here from the dub because I'd heard things about Accelerator's Japanese voice, and My God. That laugh. This is amazing. I shall watch the rest in sub solely for Accelerator's laugh. I can't believe I am saying this, but thank you, people would wouldn't shut the hell up about how English dubs always, without exception, suck! This is one of those moments where I am glad that I listen to you!
John Jones I acknowledge your opinion and respect it; I do, however, disagree, as I find that a lot of English dubs can be good, too. That said, I still enjoy the subs. I just also enjoy dubs, and tend to watch them whenever possible, as I find it hard to notice details in animation while reading.
@@johnrommelramirez7534 Though, seeing him freak out over wanting to protect Last Order makes me really happy too. He doesn't want to admit it, but he loves that sweet little girl.
Watching this, you have to wonder: Why did they even bother? XD I mean did they have any real plan, or did they just think they could run him over and it would be mission accomplished? Dummies.
+SuperGreenSmartie Because of the fact that his power are currently limited due to an accident he had in S1 or in the beginning of S2. Technically, it wasn't dumb cause the battery he had was quickly burning his energy. (That's also why he started to get pwnd by Kihara after that.)
+monfernova Having read the light novels, I have come to realize that calling anyone simply "Kihara" in this series is not enough to tell who they are. Amata is much better for clarity, seeing how there are about 20 (at least) different "Kiharas." And its actually only because Amata is the exact person he is that he can manage that "pulling his punches" stuff unscathed. Other people have tried and managed to at least hit Accelerator, but they still ruin their hands.
Renniuq the author should make something that cancels espers powers for example a special ingredient made from like a special metal or something for example put those special handcuffs made from this metal on accelerator misaka or kuroko and there regular human beings with no powers
When you threaten Last Order that’s when you really pissed him off 🔥 don’t mess with her . She’s important to him just like he’s important to her. She follows him like a lost puppy .
One of my most favorite characters with a unique personality of being a bad anti hero who protects a innocent young girl by his side with one of the most creative and fascinating abilities of anime
Rule #1. Fuck with Accelerator and he will kill you with a shotgun. Rule #2. Fuck with Accelerator and he will kill you with your own vectors. Rule #3. DO NOT FUCK WITH ACCELERATOR!
Accelerator アクセラレータ Are you talking about how Touma is literally the only person who can get away with wrecking your shit? Well, I suppose Last Order could too, if she had a mind to.
Just about any of the level 5 espers could beat any of the heroes from My Hero Academia. Accelerator and Dark Matter could probably even beat someone like All Might.
Accelerator could defeat all heroes with his eyes closed and ears plugged, Kakine could defeat them all within about an hour. Railgun would be able to beat about half.
Can Accelerator get his own series because he's the only character I legitimately enjoyed. I couldn't get into the church shit, I thought it was boring and confusing. That and I don't mind Touma as a character, it's just the fucking lolis that are constantly swarming around him that really irritates the shit out of me.
i think the science behind accelerator's powers are exceedingly interesting. able to control any force of kinetic or energetic flow coming his way, so it doesnt just mean impact or bullets, but any kind of energetic flow. Kinetic energy describes the energy an object has when it moves, but as displayed in Magical Index, he can also revert electrical flow, liquid currents, anything that requires some kind of energy or force to move, he can manipulate. im understanding this way too simply, but none the less it is intriguing
Kinetic energy is a vector, yes, but not all vectors are kinetic energy. Quite literally almost every matter in the world has some sort of vector to it which implies he can just control... everything. Even stationary objects have some sort of kinetic energy to them due to the energy of the atoms vibrating around continuously which would explain why he's able to throw them around.
Man, Accelerator could be one of the GREATEST HORROR MOVIE ANTAGONIST like Jason, Michael Myers or Leatherface and I have no complaint. That factory scene was basically one of the best Accelerator Horror scene of all time.
densch123 he is the second strongest level 5 .you can check the wiki but i dont want to spoil more . There fight is really epic , especially since both of their abilities are absurdly strong , just look forward season 3 !
