The Liverpool, Manchester, Northern Irish and Glasgow ones were a little in the ‘uncanny valley’ still. A little bit of refinement needed there. Everything else sounded fairly spot on. For reference I’m Scottish, but have lived in England and Paris and have Northern Irish family.

A lot of of the British Acting schools have classes dedicated to accents. It’s why their exports are generally pretty good at doing an American or other accents. For whatever reason most of the American acting schools don’t do this, which is a shame. I don’t know if she studied acting abroad or not though, but it’s possible she studied across the pond. I did study a bit myself in England for a couple semesters (part of an exchange sort of thing with my Acting program located in New York). Other than that, yeah you can get lessons from Accent coaches and whatnot.
@be8nice
@be8nice 2 года назад
@@TheGeorgeD13 I don't know why you think American acting schools don't include accent study because they do. They are more concerned with regional American accents, though, and tend to give British and Irish ones short shrift. Some British actors are good at American accents and some definitely are not. I saw an English production of The Grapes of Wrath that was all over the map, and not in a good way.

It’s impressive to have such range and this is a fun video! However, I have to comment that the Belfast accent is very off. The way we pronounce Belfast is Bell-fast (no reduction on the “fast”). Beyond this, the initial lines sounded much more “country”, sliding into something more southern, before landing something closer to the Belfast accent with “Northern Ireland”. Keep it up!

"Bar-the-lona" is also weird, because while it's the right pronunciation in Spanish, most locals don't use the Spanish pronunciation if they're not speaking Spanish. Well done overall, but not a single person in Toronto sounds like that. Common misconception in American media is giving Canadians the Minnesotan accent... On the contrary, many linguists consider Ontarian English to be the most phonetically consistent and least affected among North American English accents.

I wish more people did Canadian accents, but when they do they're always from out west. because of our relative low population (compared to the amount of space we have) the amount of accents we've got is... well, just an insane amount.
