Then there is the variation called Detereorata (from National Lampoon). It starts out with a similar first few lines, “You are a fluke of the Universe. You have no right to be here. And whether you can hear it or not the Universe is laughing behind your back.” In some ways, on some days it feels more like the deeper truth, but I will put my money on Bhante and his teaching.
