In the final episode of “The Classic Alpinist”, Ueli Steck struggles with the decision of whether or not to continue his project, following the tragic death of his friend and fellow alpinist Martijn Seuren. Accompanied by his good friend and mountain photographer Jonathan Griffith, Ueli decides to get back on track along one of the most beautiful routes of the 82 Summits Project in the Italian Mont Blanc Massif. He still has the entire Grandes Jorasses ridge to climb before he can move toward Gran Paradiso and the final 82nd summit of the project, Barre des Ecrins. How long will the challenge take in the end, and from where and how does Ueli find the spirit to finish his project? EpicTV and Goal Zero present "The Classic Alpinist”, a special 4-part series. Join Ueli and the team as they battle their way through the ups and downs of a brand new take on a classic alpine challenge.

This video feels like the epilogue to Ueli's amazing life. He was such a great guy. An ambassador for the sport and true genuine outdoorsman. It's amazing how we can all totally relate to his feelings and perspective. RIP Ueli!

But his thinking that all must be in speed tempo I can´t share. Steck make what th whole world are doing: more speed and more speed. The computer must be more speed, the Internet must be more speed, the car must be more speed. Steck is running away the moment in the present

RIP UELI. What an amazing individual. full of life and courage. What great acheivments he has done in a short and eventful life. My condolences to your family. You are truly one in a million. Some of the cliffs he has climbed needs nerves of steel.

Why did he finish the project by solo climbing? He started with another climber (Michi). Also, I could not find part 2 of this Epic Tv video series.

4:28 How prophetic. It was estimated he fell a 1000 meters to his death...

Ueli , I miss you bro. It makes me sad the Ueli was always chasing . pushing the envelope , always trying to one up his last peak or goal. Seems like he was just not willing ,to rest on passed performance. He took me as a person so full of ambition and in the moment always pushing the limits of even his own capabilities. I wish he had a slow down mode. Where ever he is I wish him peace.

I would love to know what his stipulations were for using help. I think the cycling aspect was a great idea but how did his gear get from place to place. I find it interesting considering Ueli's character and aptitude for self inflicted suffering haha

How it ended: He was trying to quickly summit Nuptse next to Everest and Lohtse overlooking the western cym. It was like a practice run for him where he would be down for lunch or supper soon. Just below the summit he either slipped or a rock broke loose and he fell 1000m into the western cym, sadly not in one piece. I hope he lived a good life before that, outside of climbing.

That is it .Mountains should not be sport arenas. Life is short dont make it shorter for really trivial reasons like fame and money! Sponsors closed Uli account and said Next !!!
