Yes, but only through the Multi Interface Shoe on top of the camera. You have to use a compatible microphone, such as one of the Sony microphones that connect through that special shoe.

+Stefan Jensen I have never tried using it as a webcam, and I don't have the camera anymore to test it. You possibly could use it as a webcam while it was being charged, or you could use it as a webcam while it was being powered by an appropriate AC adapter.

Yes, when you plug an HDMI cable into the HDMI port of the RX100 II, you can see the live signal from the camera on an external monitor, even when the camera is in shooting mode.

I'm not sure which viewfinder you are looking for. A Google search should find them for you. For example, here is a listing for one of them: Sony FDA-V1K Optical Viewfinder ZEISS T* RX1 RX1RII RX1R 35mm #2570 ebay.us/BBy227.

You might want to try to find a compatible AC adapter that uses a "dummy battery" that is inserted into the battery compartment. Here is a link to a device that may be usable: www.amazon.com/Coupler-Adpater-Replacement-Battery-Cybershot/dp/B078PDCF7D. I have not tested that device, so do some more research before trying it, but it may work for what you need.

I like using the Sony HVL-F20M, though there are other options. A larger one is the Sony HVL-F32M.

+francis c Hello, Francis. Yes, that microphone should work with this camera. I have not actually tried it myself, but my understanding is that that mic uses the Multi Interface Shoe and therefore is compatible with the RX100 II camera.

Oui. (I don't speak much French.) Yes, this remote will trip the shutter when the BULB setting is in use, in Manual exposure mode. You can press and hold the button on the remote control, or lock it down while the exposure lasts.

As far as I know, the only microphones that can be connected to this camera are a few models from Sony, which connect through the camera's special Multi Interface Shoe. There also is an XLR adapter from Sony that lets you connect other mics, but that adapter is quite expensive. As of now, I don't know of any inexpensive microphone or microphone input adapter that can be connected to this camera.

I don't think there are any non-Sony microphones that you can use directly with this camera. You have to use a microphone that works with the Sony Multi Interface shoe. There are a few such models available, including the ECM-XYST1M, the ECM-GZ1M, and the ECM-W1M. You also can use the XLR-K2M adapter kit, which lets you plug in XLR microphones, but that setup is rather large for this small camera.

I don't have my RX100 II anymore, but I got out my RX100 III and ran a test. I connected the Sony wired remote and took a BULB exposure for 307 seconds, and there was no indication it wouldn't have gone longer. So, there may be no limit, or maybe some limit like 10 minutes, but none that I am aware of.

No, you can leave them attached if you want to, though it could be hard to put the camera in a case with them attached.

Thomas Rist Holmen No, the external microphone for the RX100 II works only with that model and some other Sony models, but not with the RX100. This particular microphone uses the special multi interface shoe, which the RX100 does not have.

79Sarwar I haven't studied all of the cards enough to be able to give you a detailed response. I have had good results with SanDisk and Lexar cards. I like to use a 32 GB or 64 GB card. If you get one in speed class 10, or a UHS-I card in speed class UHS-3, you should be fine.

The filter adapter, the battery charger and replacement batteries, and the Hoodman viewer would all work. The Sony CLM-V55 LCD monitor could be connected to the camera through the HDMI port, but there is no hot shoe for connecting it to the camera, so you would need to attach the monitor somewhere else, such as to a separate bracket or tripod. The electronic viewfinder, the Sony wired remote control, and the Sony microphone would not work with the original RX100 camera. The optical viewfinders and the Clearviewer viewfinder would not work unless you obtained an add-on shoe to attach on top of the camera.

Yes, this camera has a flash shoe on top that accepts compatible Sony flash units and some non-Sony flash units also.

Sorry, that would have been a good idea. You can leave the base ring on the camera at all times, and you also can leave the filter adapter in place if you want to, though I always take off the adapter itself when I turn the camera off.

(The other little wrinkle here is that, by making the adapter itself removable, Sony has added only the thickness of the "base ring" on the face of the camera. That adds ~ 3mm to the camera in whatever pocket, and only in the small ring immediately around the lens opening itself.)
