I will never forget the day I was in elementary school and it was career day, I was walking to the office to pick up some supplies for my teacher and Lamont walked thru the entrance door of my school as I was passing it he didn't have no security with him or nothing and I was completely starstruck because I use to watch him on Moesha. I ripped a piece of paper off our bulletin board wall and asked him for a autograph he laughed and signed it with his own pen and we shook hands. I was so excited to get home and show my older sister who was a huge Moesha fan the autograph but by the time I got home and looked in my pocket for it it had fell out, til this day it makes me sad when I think about it. R.I.P HOMIE you were a real one and really nice to your fans.
What a tragedy, even after all these years it saddens me. He seemed to have such an easy going and fun spirit. Never forgot about him and Merlin Santana
I would love to see Accidental Demise stories on Andre Harrell, Kim Porter, Brandon Lee, Shakir Stewart, Prodigy, Chris Lighty, Lee Thompson Young and Heavy D
I had to pause from working to watch this. I enjoyed his body of work during his young life. I’m sorry he passed so young. I believe he would have made that transition to movies, producing and directing. I miss him. Thank you for revisiting his story and life.💖💖💖
I agree I remember him being good in Tales From The Hood & thought he'd transition into big screen pretty well mind you I'm not sure if that's his first big screen role or not but he was good, R.I.P Lamont.
Lamont bentley, fredro starr, merlin santana, Brandon Adams, de'aundre bonds, and ken lawson were the next renaissance men of acting during the mid 90s to early 2000s 💯
He came from my hometown. I went to school with one of his cousins elementary school and middle school. She said he was a great cousin. Hollywood is not a good place or the music industry. But who can blame him, he was great at anything he did. Gone too soon may he continue to rest.
Never knew the full details about his death, only that is was quite bad😔Dude left his mark in his unique way though. I did enjoy Moesha back then. Always appreciate your covering of people the world forgets easily 👏👏👏

He died so young. 😔 I loved Hakeem on Moesha. Very funny but real character. Lamont was very talented. Man so many Moesha characters gone. RIP Lamont 🙏🏽
@@nehsangbong7259 I agree! Opposites attract type of love! I was sad when I heard he passed and how he passed! 😔He definitely would’ve been a VERIFIED actor!
I met him around when moesha first came out ,me and some friends were just walking down the street, we saw him driving and my homegirl was screaming and pointed him out , he bust a u turn and pulled up on us , gave us his headshots with his autograph, that made my friends day!!! We was just walking around the neighborhood trying to look for boys and saw him!!!🤦🏾♀️💀😂🤣
'whats wrong Jerome?? you dont like seeing black people get killed??' ... I swear his part in Tales From The Hood is one of my FAVORITE things. he absolutely killed it. its too bad he left here the way he did SMH Rest In Peace Lamont ♥️ 🙏🏾 🕊
I'm from Milwaukee WI and never heard of Lamont Bentley day. I know his memorial/funeral service was at Serenity funeral home. RIP Lamont Bentley 1973-2005
Interesting fact is Lamont Bentley had his car accident the same place Brandy had a her car accident years later which killed someone years ago.. RIP to the brotha
Rest In Heaven Lamont! I miss him. What him and Merlin Santana could have been if they were still here. OMG. It’s been too long. Yvette Wilson, Bernie Mac & Ricky are angels as well. Super sad. We losing greats. 😢😭💪🏽🙏🏽

I read years ago that he accidentally fell asleep behind the wheel and he had gone through the embankment and fell down onto the expressway and got ran over by several cars. The story was so sad. RIP 🙏🏾
@@columbusohio72 yes lol you're so bold both of them were mad fine and Fredro Starr all fine 90's sitcoms crushes I would have dated any guys that looked like any of them lol .
Play'd: A Hip Hop Story is 2002 television drama film starring Rashaan Nall, Faizon Love, Toni Braxton and Merlin Santana. The film was directed by Oz Scott.[1] is loosely based off on The East Coast-West Coast hip hop rivalry was a feud between artists and fans of the East Coast hip hop and West Coast hip hop scenes in the United States, especially from the mid-1990s.[1 added to Wikipedia.
Lamont was such a BEAUTIFUL soul that was well-loved by many! Genuine, authentic, respectful, funny, young man. He's truly missed! Continue to rest in POWER & LOVE Lamont! We love you!
We share the same birthday August 25th 🤗💜 Lamont was one year older than me. Damn that's heartbreaking about how he passed. 😔😔😔😔 I watched Moesha faithfully. I loved Lamont awesome Actor and rapper. Sleep In Paradise, Lamont. 😭😭😭🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 Thank you CU for this great bio about Lamont. Way too young. Gone way too soon.
Kim Porters death will definitely hush...because something nefarious definitely went on Diddy and Clive Davis....I believe they had something to do with it
@@cjkita9802 Yes, yes CU definitely needs to research Kim's death. Her death has always been suspicious and that ol Clive and Diddy has wondering eyes. Michael K. Williams bio and death needs to be researched too. Shock G. You hit the nail on the head Cj Kita. 🤍
@@melaniebrassfield5700 Yes...It was reported that Kim Porter was writing a tell all book...and she knows Diddy's dirt...also Al B. Sure posted a comment about his disbelief above her cause of death...then he deleted the post..scared of Diddys goons
@@cjkita9802 That's right she was going to write a book. I guess she never started to write the beginning of the book. It's so sad. Al B. Sure has a right to know and so does his son. I never liked Sean. What's done in the dark will come into the light hopefully one day in this heartbreaking death of Kim. Hopefully, CU will do some research and give us a bio and video on Kim.
Thank you for going in depth a bit more with this one. Never knew his demise was so horrible man WOW he was a great actor no doubt. Fav character was KRAZY K from tales from the hood That boy was on his way man REST EASY Lamont Bentley
Gone so soon along with several others from Moesha. He would still be young today in his late 40z. I miss the 90z! Big Ups all my fellow peeps born also born the 70z. Rest In Power Lamont Bentley. #forever young
Both Lamont Bentley and Merlin Santana shared the same role as Tupac American rapper and actor. Merlin in (Play'd: A Hip Hop Story )is 2002 television drama film and Lamont Bentley as Tupac in (Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story).
Lamont Bentley was one of my favorites. I hated the way he passed and I always felt something either took control of the car or something happened in the car. Hollywood is a scary place. He seemed like a great person, and I wish he were still here today. I always felt his passing was very strange. I pray he is at peace and didn’t feel a thing. We miss you, Lamont!!
@@musiclover-cn7tb Same here, I'm a huge fan. It's so sad that all of the original members are gone except one and they are often forgotten and left out of the conversation when talking about the best R&B groups of all time. I credit them for being the first singers to do a rap song.
Whoa...man as soon as you mentioned the Fatherhood commercial I had an instant visual recall...I had forgotten all about that commercial (you know the powers that be weren't going to let a PSA that empowered young black men stay on the air that long)...that WAS him! 💪
I remember meeting Lamont Bentley in California and del mar beach in 98 ..he was performing one of his songs ..had the opportunity to get his autograph..he was a good dude rip my guy 💯❤️

I know this is about Lamont Bentley but the merlin Santana story pertaining to his death reminds me of a lie tupac said in his song "the streets is death row" where he says "put to rest by a brother that was hopeless". Rest in peace Lamont and merlin✌ 💔
Definitely remembered him as Hakeem from moesha and as crazy k from tales from the hood (still give me nightmares to this day) rest well lamont and I was wondering if you could do a video on Sylvester and Bessie smith?
he was simply amazing and a wonderful actor I really hate what happened to him definitely unfortunate and sad. please do the Aaliyah story next I would love to hear about her.
I had enjoyed Watching him on South Central, Moesha & The Wash. Not so sure about a reboot of Moesha because without Lamont Bentley it won't be the same.
