There's an art to explaining things through video that even a complete novice (me) can understand. I've mowed through my wire and this video has given me the confidence to inexpensively fix it, rather than buying a new mower :) thanks very much!
Thankyou!! Just fixed our hedge trimmer after trying to make handy work and cutting right through the power cord whilst my partner is away. You’ve just saved me some money and a grilling from him, lifesaver😂🙏🏽
Thank you! You are a real star. It's the second time I have cut through the wire. The first, my dad put on one of those connectors but I cut through again a few days ago. Dad died recently and you helped a great deal.
Great video, clear and easy to follow - you saved me having to buy a new hedge trimmer! 😊 Thanks very much! for anyone else watching this you can get the connector for £5.85 at B&Q!
Thank you for this video! Ordered the plugs and just done this today and my hedge trimmer is now working again! The local hardware shop wanted like £40 to fit a new cable and these plugs cost a fiver! Really good clear video. Thanks again :)
Very helpful. I was just about to order a new hedge cutter when a customer in a shop I work in came in with one of these and told me what it was for. Very clear instructions. If anyone has fitted a new plug on an appliance, they can manage this. Thanks👍🏼
Really useful video. I was a spanner and cut through my trimmer last week, so I'll be fixing it this way tomorrow! Exactly the same model as yours too. Cheers!
Thank you so much for making this video! It enabled me to fix an electric lawn mower that had a damaged power cable. I say 'damaged' - it was cut in two (not by me I hasten to add). The plug connector only cost £5 - a lot less than buying a new lawn mower! Having watched your video, it was a very straight forward job even though I forgot to slip the outer casing over the cable first time around 😂
Thanks Ray, of course it was someone else who cut the wire, always the case... isn't it ? Glad you found the Vid useful, and that fit the cover over the cable first thing has been catching me out for years, lol. Kind Regards.
Thanks for this video...followed instructions - wouldn't work....checked my workmanship, still didn't work....changed fuse.....now works. Not bad for a mature lady!
Hi guys, I've also had the same problem - accidentally cut the hedge trimmer cable. Does anyone know if it would be an issue that the suggested 2 pin connector is 10 amp, and the fuse in the plug of the hedge trimmer is 13 amp?
Thanks Long Way, the Prongs are to be connected to the Device because if the were connected to the wall plug end this would leave Live exposed 240v Prongs, fatal to anyone who came onto contact with them. Regards.
