It almost makes not trust anyone but highly rated shop like 5 star. I would most certainly risk everything and drive down to them to do my install if I cant find trustworthy installers because I’ll be damed if they have my truck looking like this.
Awesome. love how you used to be like “everyone has their own way of installing”. Now you are like “everyone sucks”. Definitely the case with 99.99% of ALL shops.
There's a big difference between his "This is how we do it comments when doing a 911" and what's going on here. Did you see the first video in the series? Did you see what the other shop did to the power wire? Absolute insanity.
@@DIYAudioGuy Totally. Very few shops take pride in their work. DIY is the only way to go. Its quite a weird industry where most of the professionals do not care, in the slightest, what their quality of work is like. I took a vehicle to a local "reputable" shop about 25 years ago. I had it a week and was curious as to how the wired it. I literally uninstalled everything and redid it myself. Been doing that since. They literally put the JL passive crossovers inside the doors. Right above the weep holes Great idea in the midwest. Its great that people have RU-vid now so you can get fresh perspectives on techniques.
I agree Dean and Fernando do it right or don't do it at all! I did a lot of Repair Work at the Shop I worked at from guys cutting corners. I might be a little OCD but my work never returned unless the Customer wanted upgrades. Bravo Guys (I found the parts for the T-Harness on my Car(2020 Camry XSE Non JBL) but Waiting on Metra to approve my account to purchase the parts. ) Thanks
Once again, awesome video. Very educational. Can't wait for the next episode for the wiring from head unit to the line out converter or DSP. Signal Wiring is always the most difficult with all these new cars
Dean's rant 🤔 you sounded like doug for a minute jk Soon enough McDonald's people going to make 15.00$ a hour, more than a car stereo installer starting off as a rookie doing a crappy job lol.
@5 FIVE STAR CAR STEREO. I have a 2018 accord sport with the 8 speaker system which is really lacking. im looking to build up a system for sound quality, what component package " speakers, amp" would you recommend ?
Dean or fernando,or anyone who knows, hopefully before tomorrow's show ,what should I set the hpf on my sounddigital fullbridge , mono block ill be using the head unit cross over for the lpf,@80hrtz??? Loved the 911 video, or anyone??
HOLD UP!!!!!! As a contractor in cable construction, digging ditches also requires some skill!! 😂😂😂 but since you guys showed me some great life lessons in audio in let it slide 🤣
Just amazing that people do such a horrible job. That looked like a car fire waiting to happen. I'm a weekend warrior installer and have never even thought about cutting so many corners. I don't understand the rear speakers and doing so much for them. Soundstage should be all up front IMO. Do it right the first time!! Great job guys.
For the quarter panel SRS clips, you're supposed to knock them in with a hammer to release them, to reinstall just flip the tabs and pull the center back out.
That rant should be directed at all of the car audio installation shops here in Rochester, NY... I swear, these installers would learn sooo much from you guys.
Dean i felt your pain within your rant. I left the car audio scene over a decade ago...mainly because i left Best Buy Audio shop to work for a well known shop in my area and maaaan the corners that were cut was so horrendous that it made me change professions completely.
I get amazed at some of the cars that come in from other branches of the company I work for and how bad the installs are and your totally right about it takes longer to do it wrong then to just do it right and clean the first time
Dean... When hooking up components.. What rms do i set my gains to. Do i add the RMS from the 6.5 and the tweeter since their connected together on 1 channel with the passive crossover.. Or should i just set the RMS of the 6.5.. I can't find this information anywhere. Much appreciated. I love the show
I have to say again that you guys do really good professional work when it comes to car audio. That’s sad that Kicker CXA800.1 amplifier that was installed had to go because Kicker makes a really good product. Only if they had installed it right, not with just four screws drilled into the carpet that was only holding the amplifier in place.
I understand what your saying about people installing incorrectly and I get your frustration. It's kind of like your videos. Once the video starts to get interesting you end the video. And the next day you don't go back to that car you were working on the previous day, you upload a video of a different car and install. It's like ADHD, stop in the middle of what your doing and go onto something else. It make for frustrating content. I just wait till you done with the car and go back and watch the videos in sequence (sometimes).
