I just do not understand how to get the lights and darks lined up correctly, I don't want to make with only two colors??

Really wish she would go into more detail on how to use this die when cutting a specific number of each strip. Can anybody help me out on this?

Am I right in thinking you can either make this as a 2 colour block, or a crazy quilt using 6 layers of different fabrics, but you can't easily make matching blocks with 6 different fabrics in each block?
