They most definitely used people smugglers which can happen with any administration including Trump. His attorney said he understood the gravity of the situation. He added he is remorseful for the situation he finds himself in. I do believe the attorney was trying to tell us in a polite and ethical way that his client knows he did wrong and is unhappy about being caught and in jail. Only being remorseful for being in jail. I hired some workers just the other day that I’m sure were illegal immigrants. They mowed my yard and cut some tree limbs. I’ll call them back in a few weeks when the grass grows taller. Nobody hiring for these workers is going to check immigration status. And maybe that’s why they work these jobs. Who cares? It’s the role of the police and government to combat illegal immigration, not a private business. I bet probably the vast majority of people reading these comments know that they also hired some illegal immigrants for a service job of some sort.
@@AJXOXO-vz1pnImmigrants getting low paying jobs and working illegally has been a thing for decades, but the problem now is that a lot of these immigrants are not coming for work anymore. They are criminals running away from their home countries because they are wanted either for criminal charges or by gangs. They come here to destroy our society and exhaust our economy. A lot of them are not even from Mexico. They come from South American countries like Honduras or Venezuela.

If an attorney works as a public defender the judge assigns the case to him or her and they can only be recused if they file a motion with the court in which they must show legally why they must be recused. So please don’t judge him too harshly.
Did anyone else notice the attorney didn't say he was remorseful for what he did he said "I do think he is remorseful for the situation he finds himself in" so he is only sorry he got caught before he could get out of town he isn't sorry for what he did at all

The statement by his attorney was that he was aware of the gravity of the situation. There is no reason for the title to suggest the accused understands...and is remorseful. He doesn't look remorseful, he has a stone face on. I feel that since education standards have collapsed since the Seventies we are beset by avoidable errors in writing and understanding by the folks who have come of age under the collapse. I could not even say the writer of this title understood the difference.

There's been plenty of comments blaming this young girl and her mother for what happened. So the possibility is yes, there would be jurors that would side with these murderers.
Everyone handles death differently. Sometimes it doesn't seem real. She might be more emotional once it really settles in. She could be in disbelief/shock still and hasn't had time to process due to media asking her for interviews.
A possible reason why the men are not facing the death penalty because there is some limited evidence that there was a deal that went wrong (i.e. sex or drug deal). Thus, there was no sexual assault or premeditated murder. The possibility exists that Jocelyn was to provide something in exchange for money, but something went wrong. Thus, no death penalty.
