Oh it'll still happen, but just not with Godot as the prosecution and Mia would still be Wright's Co counsel. Morgan would still enact her plan to make Pearl the new Master and Dahlia would still be involved.

​@@darkacadpresenceinblood or perhaps considering that in Morgan's path there was more than just one little girl to the ascension of her lineage. she could give up or do something even more drastic (and really even more creative). Maya was also surrounded by many more people who want her best.

That is, without a reason; to get back at mia for sentencing her to death. But why waste her time killing Maya instead? If Dahlia was summoned by Pearl then she would get revenge at Mia, not Maya. And pearl, unknowingly, following morgan's plan to bring specifically maya to hazakura temple. But with mia alive, it would require HER to come as well. We all know maya was almost killed due to her spiritual training, but mia had cut it off completely because she became a lawyer. Therefore dahlia couldn't have killed mia OR maya, resulting in the main family thriving strongly as ever. So Dahlia is dead, morgan stays in custody, godot isn't arrested AND both Misty/Mia fey is alive.

I feel like the set up is that Phoenix came by the office after the first case to get some food with her, but she isn't there cause she needed to step out for the moment. But the problem is, this is when Redd White was trying to take the evidence that Mia had, so in an attempt to keep Wright silent, he kills Phoenix, thinking this would get Mia arrested as a result, so two birds with one stone.
