Oh man the feels. This game was so damn good! The story was so damn good! This game needs to be remastered. I mean completely overhauled to the graphical level of star citizen.
I'm only 21 and this game makes me feel old. I had so many childhood memories with AC4. They need to remake a GOOD AC game, not like the shitty previous ones.
Well Ace Combat 7 is coming and its going to take place back in strangereal. Looks like a war between Erusia and Osea. Just an FYI, the ace combat producer had a poll on Twitter to see which AC game would fans want to get remade and Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War won
I was 11 when I played this game and it blew all its successors away 15 years later. It was the first game that truly made me feel like a hero when I beat it. There's something magical about that.
Well it's also because of the low graphics needed. The terrain is very far so you dont need so much detail, which can be used instesd for the aircrafts. They managed to optimize memory usage and level of detail very well.
Damn ''Mobius One engage'' So many memories. It still was the most solid flight game at that time, but think about this: take away the soundtrack, the mission briefing design and radio chatter and whats left? I dont remember the year it came out, but the briefing music still give me the chills and transmit that sense of urgency.
I here you man. 2001 was when this game hit, I was a 7 year old back then. And to tell you the truth, this one game made me want to be a US Air Force fighter pilot. I had already played the PS1 Air Combat and Ace Combat 2. And I played other flight combat games like Top Gun and HAWX. But Ace Combat 04 was the one that really stood out for me. Then 5, Zero and X came out I was all over those. Actually, I'd love to see Shattered Skies play out as a live action movie. It's what I've always wanted to see since I was little. And yes the soundtrack of this game was KICK-ASS. Briefings, Sitting Duck, Stonehenge, Comona, Farbanti, Agnus Dei, I could keep goin'. I wish Namco would go back to the roots of the "Strangereal" world of Ace Combat.
***** i understand that i've seen people comment on games like this that are played on backwards compatible systems and look great just like this one does so i didn't know if he thought it was a rerelease or a new game
I think what I loved the most about Ace Combat was the sheer detail in its wars. I would absolutely love it if Project Aces actually expanded the Ace Combat genre to add RTS's and FPS's set in Strangereal. Jesus, can you imagine playing as a footsoldier retreating to North Point, landing on the beaches of Usea in Operation Bunker Shot, slogging through the Tango Line, and making the final push through Whiskey Corridor?
One of the best in the series. Love the radio chatter and how they make the enemy sound like real people, not overly threatening, just with struggles like anyone else in war
I remember when I went to the airport at Kadena AB in Okinawa back in 04 and they had a PS2 you could rent at the terminal. I got this game and fell in love. It became my favorite game. To this day Ace Combat 4 is my all time favorite game.
What a gem. Before AC4, I had no idea I could like these kinds of games. The satisfaction of strafing ground targets cannot be replicated. I can't wait for AC7.
I had just finished Ace Combat 7 recently. It was my first AC game, too. Now I kind of want to play all of them. At first I got AC7 because of Top Gun and Maverick, making Danger Zone jokes, but now I'm hooked into the clusterfuck of the lore.
Well, it's better late than never that you joined the fun. The old games are fantastic and call all be emulated but 6 will take some time due to the 360 emulator being not all there.
Ya know, it's been 15 years since I played this game and now I realize that there's a story mode with cutscenes. I must've been flying around doing nothing but shooting the air as a kid. Didn't even play it correct.
I started playing these from the start, back when it was Air Combat on the PS1. This game was a lot of fun. I remember when 2004 seemed so far away. Damn, I'm old now.
The PS2 trilogy was and still is the best Ace Combat games for me. I didn't understand why Namco didn't even bother to re-release this as hd classics on ps3. I'd rather play these games than assault horizon. Infinity is a cool game but I miss this style of Ace Combat games.
I think because of licenses. There is a non original song on Ace Combat 5, that is why it was released as a FREE bonus, because they cant make money if the license expired.
The music is so good, it's one of the biggest presentation other then the radio chatter. I can't think of another game where i liked all of it's OST maybe Mass effect or Witcher 3 what about you guys?
2001. I didn't have a PS2 but my friend had one. He also had a rad setup of a home theater and big screened CRT TV. When I played the game, oh my god. I thought this was as good as PS2 graphics got. And then I bought the PS2 in 2016 ^^;
I Loved playing this game. Shooting down the bombers. Then mission 3 you got to go bomb the base. And shoot them sitting on the deck. Absolutely Great Fun.
Man, thank you so much for this video,i was racking my brains trying to remember this awesome game i used to play a long time ago and i just couldn't remember What it was called, once i heard the word "Mobius" i knew this was it, thanks again!!
Man, if I had a dollar for how many times my mom got a call from blockbuster because I refused to take this game back so I could keep playing it I would be a rich man lol
Nostalgia overload! Such a great game back then. The story sucked me in too. Nothing gets me like older games. New games are all about flashy lights but have no story.
I actually wonder where is this guy now, the narrator... He was a child in 2004. By the time the railgun was destroyed, it was 2016. Now Ace Combat 7 is coming, and it's going to be set after the Emmerian-Estovakian war. I wonder if he becomes a fighter pilot himself?
I remember playing the heck out of this game back in late 2004 all the way through 2006 (which, come to think of it, makes me sound and feel SUPER old). I used to stay up super late replaying all the missions and trying to unlock all the different jets and trying to play the missions differently. It just had an all around great vibe, good gameplay, and awesome graphics, though I only remember bits and pieces of the story. I haven't played an Ace Combat game since, though, mostly because when I was really getting into this game I had heard the AC5 was meh (whether that's true or not is up to debate) and then I remember Assault Horizon getting some pretty negative reviews. I still wanna try Ace Combat 7 though, I've been itching for a game like that for a long time now.
I think AC3 was honestly the first layer of Glue and then 4 was the one that bound everything together. Unfortunately Electrosphere is the one game I don't have on this channel, I should fix that.
