B-2s are able to fly either low or high. For low altitudes, it is used for precision bombing if GPS guidance is unavailable or unreliable. A B-2 is not THIS agile.
Opening bomb doors destroys an aircraft's stealth ability. Flying ABOVE the radar would mean that the doors are completely seen by the radar, but by flying BELOW the radar, you could hide the bomb doors from the radar.
2 seconds is apparently enough for a missile gun crew to shoot at the very stealthy F-117 back at Kosovo. If you see it, even if briefly, you could kill it.
Now, I don't have any problem with the B-2 having to fly under radar, but I DO have a problem with the B-2 flying through tree branches and shit. A couple scratches will increase the radar signature of the B-2 by several magnitudes. Even a screw or rivet sticking could spell doom.
I dont get this mission. I bought it on steam and I'm stuck on this one, whenever I go after the ICBM and says Its half way through to pass the limit. Yet, after DFM starts, it says mission failed. Why?
Yeah, seems like this mission was tailored for the B-1. Their original purpose is to fly low and penetrate deep into enemy airspace at high speeds while avoiding radar detection. The B-2 negates the need for that doctrine entirely by being stealthy.
I had trouble destroying the missile at the end. I dont know y, but i just could shoot it down before i failed the mission when it went out of range. any advice?
The gameplay sucks but the story is still alright. The cutscenes make it enjoyable. Think of it a lot more as an interactive movie, not an Ace Combat game, and it's still fun.
