Assault Horizon is like the Final Fantasy 13 of the AC series; its gameplay does not hold up to its predecessors, but damn it, that soundtrack is mind-blowing.
The alternating phases of this song - The really fast tempo and rythm opposed to the long build-ups really connect to the mission this track is played in. It's like the enemy is preparing to attack.. and then during the various battles the guitars start to play and shit gets real.
'Scuse me, could you explain how a "noob" was supposed to dogfight on the edge of a fucking category 5 hurricane? You can't? Not surprising. Ergo, Warwolf 1 deserves to be respected among the true aces of the AC universe.
You know what... As the guy that isn't an Ace Combat purist but certainly is an Ace Combat fanboy. I liked what they had in mind with this game. I liked that you were able to see what you're shooting at and I liked the slightly over-the-top effects this game had. And the soundtrack holy fucking shit ! How can they just have a killer soundtrack every time?!
@@edmardisla8492 Yeah I can see that being a problem but I recall you could just play the game like a regular AC game by simply not activating DFM unless it was a scripted scene.
@@Shinransa The TGT aces don't die to anything unless you are in DFM. Guns included, like a cheap Pixy knock-off. This is not an option, but forced. *DO DFM* That's the main issue with gameplay I see everywhere in threads and comments from that time. Everything else boils down to "muh Strangereal". (BTW, I never have liked saying that name; it's a mouthful to me, but I agree with them that it should've been an SR game).
@@edmardisla8492 It's crazy they never included and opt-out option for this mode. I guess it was the time period where every shooter had to be like a blockbuster action movie and include the "mandatory on-rails turret section" and PA based the new gameplay feature on it. I guess this game tried to appeal to a wider audience by looking more action packed even though it didn't even need all that. I personally liked being able to see all the detail of the enemy plane being ripped apart but I definitely understand why it was a poorly received leap from regular AC and also kinda unnecessary since you could get the same dramatic effect with the missile cam that has been in every AC games I've played. As for the SR stuff, you can't have AC without the SR melodrama but I guess it was also to follow trends and grasp a wider audience by not taking place in an alternate universe where lasers and railguns on planes is the least crazy thing to exist. It's like PA just said "chill out Pixy, you're scaring the hoes with your ADFX-02 Morgan."
Warwolf 1: fox two! Dragon 3: this is dragon 3, requesting support! Dragon1: this is dragon 1, I copy, en route Bravo 2: I'm hit! All power is lost! Magic: bravo 2? Please respond! -meanwhile 2.3 kilometres away- Me just casually drifting towards the battlefield in an Apache AH-64 Longbow *elevator music plays*
the chopper segments man. Im like yaaay he destroyed a truck... weeeeee. Earlier in this battle Warwolf took out 3 fighters at the same time. Can we please get back to that?
Be advised, I'm now assigning provisional squadron posts. Your callsign is now Bravo 1. Commencing Operation OEL Mike. Try to destroy as many hostiles as possible. Whoever destroys more of them will get a bonus! Clear to engage!
White Devil and Keep Alive are the only tracks in this game that pump me up. AC7's got a bunch of awesome tracks, like the famous Daredevil, Anchorhead Raid, and in the Long Day mission.
Just an idea of how to make AH fit into the Ace Combat series. An extremely advance terrorist organization threatens all of Strangereal and cause an all out war. And so like all the other Ace Combat games, a single Ace manages to turn the tide of the war into the Allies’s favor. With the terrorist on the brink of defeat, their end seems near. However, a group of terrorist scientists develops some sort of “portal” machine that allows them to escape into our world. Once in our world, they begin to rebuild. Noticing our technological inferiority, they threaten our world with their world order. This is where Warwolf Squadron comes into play. Warwolf Squadron travels the world, desperately trying to defend our free world against a terrifyingly powerful, technologically superior unknown enemy. Meanwhile, the Strangereal Ace pursues after the terrorist group. The Ace and Warwolf Squadron’s first encounter isn’t too friendly as Warwolf tries to shoot the Ace down thinking it’s another member of the unknown terrorist group. However, after convincing Warwolf Squadron that they are not the enemy, the Ace and Warwolf join forces to bring down the terrorist organization. Under the guidance of the Strangereal Ace, the Ace and Warwolf slowly begin to reclaim back what’s our and bring the terrorist group back to their knees, the player alternating perspectives between the Strangereal Ace and Warwolf. In the second to last mission, the Strangereal Ace is shot down by the enemy Ace and severely injured, leaving Warwolf as the only pilot potent enough to shoot the enemy Ace down. In a showdown at Washington D.C, Warwolf uses the knowledge and tricks handed down by the Strangereal Ace to fight against the enemy Ace and ultimately shooting the enemy Ace down and winning the war. It’s just an idea. Not necessarily a good one but it’s at least something.
I would be even funnier if the Ace is using a Fenrir, as that's not only not a real plane, making them very confused, but it's a VTOL that can just hover midair, and it can _cloak_ .
Keiki Kobayashi must have given every talented Orchestra, Dubstep and Electric Guitarist a good joint and told everyone to just play whatever the heck they want and *THIS* was born out of it
It's hard to tell whic AC song is the best, but this one is in the handpicked top group of songs. If any song is worthy to be the soundtrack of the epic finest hour of aces like Giora Epstein and Hans Rudel, this is it.
As much as I hate WT and their devs, I still go back and play arcade battles in my planes. This is my soundtrack when flying in WT. all starts out with the beginning 0:13 start to gain altitude 0:40 finds a target and begins to maneuver towards it 1:01 starts a steep dive towards the enemy and start attacking.
WinVisten I still think the X-02 is one of the most bad ass things. I mean... AC4's drop pods version can be replaced with some ADMM's... Though you do have a point with the Agile Eagle :3 That thing is sweet!
"There's too many of them! We need support!" -HQ- "This is Ghost-Eye I have an unidentified bogey closing fast - Vector 3-6 Niner....that crest...it can't be..." -Unknown Comm- "To all wing-leaders...this is UF command...we have intercepted your distress signal and have sortied reinforcements. Call-Sign....Scarface One" -HQ- "Scarface One?! Impossible! I heard the pilot who flew under that callsign was shot down!" -Comms Chatter- "Scarface One....Engaging" *Music escalates*
Don't forget Gryphus 1. Flying through an exploding tunnel after shooting down five invisible planes and never dropping below 700mph? That's pro. Taking a single missile shot down said exploding tunnel to kill the last invisible enemy superfighter? G-G-G-G-GODLIKE.
@@Gilicus18793420blazingfury You're literally replying to a 5 year old comment. And I just logged into this account. I haven't logged into this old account for years. What are the odds... lol
The graphics are pretty amazing and I know a lot of people knock Assault Horizon but it's really not that bad, AC6 is better but I still enjoyed Assault Horizon.
The symbolism, writing, etc- definitely relates to it. Namely, the Cipher F-15 color is very similar to the 'Mobius' F-15 color. Also, with the insurance agent saying; "He's probably off fighting somewhere right now." Finally, the fact that the V-2 inside Megalith WAS made by Grunder, whose logo you can see if you look closely at it. Thus, same weapon, same idea, same plane- and the Soldier camo for the F-22 in zero is the Mobius scheme. Believe what you like, it'll be revealed soon. I hope.
The music for AH is amazing amd the game may have its flaws but it still delivers a good experience maybe not as good as the older ace combat games but still good enough to stand right beside them
I loved this game. I mean sure there was a lot of scripted scenes followed by handholding. But like it was an action packed adventure. It was decent, I’d give it 8
If it wasn't for the storie (America against Russia, how criative) this game would be as good as any other Ace Combat before it. Even the Dog Fighting mode isn't that bad when you get used to it
+Udhaya Shanmugam Ace Combat Assault Horizon as a standalone is a ok game. But when you compare it to Ace Combat 4, 5, and Zero. It does not come close to those masterpieces. Story and writing was so much better. The Strangereal setting is far more interesting that the real world. Most of all the soundtrack for the older games are way better.
***** It is actually confirmed that Ace Combat 7 will take place in Strangereal. The Ace Coombat 7 Trailer confirms it because the F-22 has Osean Air Force seal on it. And the Su-30 has Erusian Air Force seal. So Ace Combat 7 will be between Osea and Erusia which is interesting considering that Erusia Arm Forces have been disarmed in Ace Combat 4. So my theory is that we might face Free Erusia who are a Terrorist group in operation Katina in Ace Combat 5.
Actually, I renewed my house with cooperation of my relatives, including re-route electricity grid and gas pipes, and I learned much knowledge during the process.
Price may not that reliable, but price is so far the most reliable and widely recognized indicator. Up to date, no other indicators can do better. Okay we're off topic too far. So you know nowadays many people criticize a game or a movie "merely a feast of spiritual fastfood, lack of depth", however none of those people had ever participate into any entertainment form which are really "spiritual former meal and a lot of depth", they even cannot finish reading the first page of Das Kapital.
The combat system is unique obviously, but what is not is how reliable you must take it to be when the soundtrack is played, I personally don’t like the feeling of it, but that makes me know that the gameplay makes up for my level of fun in other ways, because of the simple fact I have to complete the game means I have to focus that feeling of entertainment into determination, maybe even anger or annoyance if I lose so I can win, like Bo2 says “victory is not measured by loss, it is measured by gains”
Some painting are calculated by astronomical quantity of currency and are concealed in museum. Someone play chess to an incredible high level and are regarded as national treasure. However, none of these can be achieved by playing video games.
I'm gonna flaunt Blaze, here. Back to back missions, his own country believes him to be a traitor, fakes his own death, returns as the feared leader of the Ghosts of Razgriz, takes out both the Yuktobanian AND Osean fleets, both Ofnir and Grabacr (Ofnir in a fucking CANYON), and while presumably exhausted as hell flies down a claustrophobic tunnel while being shot at by Hamilton, takes out the control unit, does a high speed pass inside said tunnel, then a few hours later destroys SOLG. Come on.
Principles may not complete, but they're widely accepted and proven correct. Money/Price is not everything, but money is the widest accepted standard for valuing and the universal equivalent of value. Sadly nowadays even life is valued by money, such as Life insurance and insurance payment standards.
Actually animal excreta plays a very important role in agriculture and natural cycle of organic matter. You gotta pick up your biology lesson. And I studied some skills of culinary arts, first-aid, medical even operating some firearms. So I can largely do many things myself instead of hiring others. Western society also encourages learn and do things by themselves instead of hiring.
"It's basic online F2P distribution. A lot of the time, the conversation becomes about charges, but I think "let's make a game that conforms to the user" is the true nature of personal choice. The content is dependent on the user, adjusted, expanded, possibly expanding very far indeed. Ah, and there's no DFM." -Kazutoki Kono, director of Ace Combat Infinity.
