Elevator music? 15:34 As a child, I thought that this was music at a ball, where Gryphus 1 in full dress is dancing with a hot Brazilian woman in a red ball gown. 17:35 Meanwhile, on the floor below, people are dancing in a nightclub. 18:31 Another floor below was a private rave party organized for members of a still little-known arms corporation)
You are absolutely not lying with the Alect Squadron. These guys, especially on Ace, wanted me *dead.* And unlike a lot of fighters and aces I've come across in the series, I was never able to run away and regroup - they were constantly at my six ready to shoot me down. I'm never gonna forget these guys. But man, finally taking them all down and destroying Archelon Fortress was one of the most satisfying and rewarding things I've done in quite a while. One of my absolute favorite missions in the entire series, and a fitting way to end a real gem of a game.
In the first playthrougt I hat the mission (Kill alect squadron first) where I couldn't destroy the Powerplant and also had to deal with this microwave weapon. I also had to shot down all of them while in stealth. I can tell, that was no easy task.
I was like 6-7 years old when I first played I didn’t even know what I was doing half the time and I somehow managed to beat the game (on easy of course tho)
@@TugaAvenger I'm not very tech savvy, but I could give it a try. I'm getting the old ps2 and 3ds games now, and I want to play them in chronological order, but perhaps I'll give it a try
I'm playing this game for the first time and this mission is pure agony. Nothing in the game prior to this has been too tough, but I feel like I'm completely at the game's mercy. As soon as I'm warned a missile is locked onto me, it's like I have a third of a second to react. It's so frustrating to lose and feel like there's nothing more I could have possibly done.
Interesting challenge idea: End of Deception II on Ace with the F-4E equipped with Napalm Bombs while playing with the keyboard. EDIT: Play it on the 4x speed toggle and with an upside down hud (emulation settings)
Is this really considered one of the most difficult regular missions in Ace Combat History? I mean it's no picnic, but when I played through the game on Ace difficulty, I had way more trouble with the Alect Squadron mission than this (I usually play on hard difficulty, where your health is basically the same as the enemies).
+Mach 8.7 I didn't find that one as bad because you could take the F-35 with the long range ship missiles that the ships couldn't dodge. It let you keep your distance with most of the fleet's AA guns. The Alect Squadron on Ace difficulty would almost always dodge any long range missiles I threw at them, I found I needed to take a plane with the QAAMs, which were usually a 1 hit kill (the MG would mop up anyway). Even then getting behind the bastards was tricky.
I just use my fenrir long range shock wave missile on one of the fighters and it with all enemy fenrirs alive and when it explode it destroy every single enemy aircraft in the sky and on their shock cannon just the taste of their own medicine and for revenge for the death of 3 gryphus squadron members
Tip: if you want to destroy 2 fenrirs fast (not guaranteed): Go at the 4 fenrirs head on, you will need a fast jet. (I suggest wyvern with the ScramJet engine upgrade) and you will need XMAA or XLAA the fire if you're really near then kaboom.
You can wipe out entire Alect in this manner - 4 XAA_ to first 2 Fenrirs placed sightly left from spawn, then let other 3 overshoot you one by one, and again, kill them with XAA_. It takes only 90s, btw you must wait until ground reach fortress gates for mission update.
God i remember everything from this mission, flying inside an island base trying to shut it down from the inside is one of the hypest thing in the psp... I even remember all the dialog vaguely...
This mission on ace mode he’d kid me raging and screaming lmao I remember after dying countless times and restarting and once I finally got into the tunnel and destroyed that last jet I crashed in the lip at the top end of that tunnel right at the end of the mission… I was screaming bloody murder haha was that happiest kid alive when I beat it though
Well, the Southern Cross is (naturally) a symbol with many countries in the southern hemisphere, and Aurelia's a composite of them. Australia is probably the largest influence on it, but South America also has a large influence on it (plenty of Spanish names).
It simply skips to the tunnel run section. Its excruciatingly difficult to pull off though, as the cloaking is much more effective than the permanent one in 15A. I don't recommend trying it, even for curiosity's sake.
SoloWing88 I'm playing on a PSP emulator (PPSSPP v0.9.9.1) with most options set to max. For example, it's rendering the game at 4x it's native resolution - so the game is actually being rendered at 1080p, not simply upscaled. And thank you.
+Kenny McCormick I'll do you one better, I'll upload my settings file: www.mediafire.com/download/jc4c6ddou3edl19/ppsspp.ini This goes in [PPSSPP root folder]\memstick\PSP\SYSTEM. I'm not 100% happy with them, as despite a lot of tinkering there's still some microstuttering (with no FPS drop) in scenes with lots of clouds, but I suspect they're limitations of the emulator: it scales down a damn lot better than it scales up. Side note: at long last, I've got some more ACX coming this week. Doing max score runs and such. Keep an eye out.
I wonder what happens if you do not destroy the electrical plant - mission failure or it goes on with some sass from Crux? Love your playthrough by the way, thanks for making it! Like many here, it brings me a lot of memories with this fantastic game.
You do get some sass from the landing team, but they'll keep giving you chances. However, you don't have to destroy the plant, you can take them all down while cloaked, though of course that's fairly difficult. I have a recent video on that. And thank you. My channel might have exploded this year, tripling subs since new year's, but this playthrough from way back when is still what I'm most proud of. I wanted to do it for so long...
Guys I just defeated all the optically camouflaged Alect Squadron Fenrirs on Ace difficulty using only an F-4, the slowest maneuvering plane in game! Anyone know how that’s possible?? Lol
This ending seems very similar to AC7s ending. Chasing the enemy into a tunnel... If they escape with data on this fight this war will never end... Seems a little recycled to me...
I remember this music stressing me out cause I thought it was scary also i was like 10yr old or something its been a loooong time and I figured out if you fire two missles at the beginning of the mission you will take one out before it’s technically in range
How do you get that ending cutscene? I did exactly everything you did, got S rank and finished the mission in a shorter time than you did, but I still got the other one.
@@TugaAvenger you were right! I just finished a whole playthrough of the game without leaving any unfinished missions and I got that ending. But for some reason, despite finishing the game 4 times on ace difficulty, I can't unlock fenrir. Is it something to do with the emulator?
Not sure if you mean me or the missile. Flying through jet wash is the least of our concerns in AC, but for the latter, missing one missile is fairly typical in ACX, especially head-on. Using guns typically makes them move less, but even then you'll often miss one of them.
I was meaning right after you shot the missile and flew right past that Su 47. I'll rephrase what I meant um would that be considered flying through jet wash if that were for real? Sorry for the confusion and I was just asking out of boredom and curiosity.
