The original demo for BIMA was recorded 40 years ago this year. It was recorded at Sterling Sound, Edgewater, NJ on June 12, 1984 - Back Into My Arms produced by the great Eddie Kramer. They did over a dozen demos including Breakout and We Got Your Rock. I had the pleasure of being hired by Ace & his management team to record several shows from 1989 - 1992… all in the Deep South and Midwest. Kramer and Ace were both nice enough to do interviews with me then. Still have my original R-DAT tapes with my interviews and live video recordings. Several copies were made - one for Megaforce Records (to share with Atlantic), one for Ace, and one for Eddie Kramer. As for the demos, Sterling’s business logs confirm the date and tracks. Kramer gave me an “air check” (official copy) of the demos session. Met Anton Fig and Richie Scarlet. I have another air check of the first Frehley’s Comet album too. I had to sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) promising not to share the recorded demos and songs. I own the live show recordings which are amazing.. and my interviews. Sadly, the shows were shelved, I ended up at NBC News on a network show, and Ace ended up on another tour with Peter Criss. DAT technology was sunsetted in 1995 for more advanced digital pro tape and hard drive disc formats.
@@2mrwario LOL Funny thing is I haven’t heard the new album in full yet. Is it really that bad? I did listen to Cherry Medicine.. that song sucks. It seems to be an excuse to have his fiancé Rachel in a video. She’s super nice in person.. but we don’t need another Whitesnake video. Coverdale did that already.
@@rdgSWwot Music is art, and art is entirely subjective... I think Cherry Medicine is a fantastic song; gooey power pop/rock with a great -- and I mean great -- hook. I just heard Back Into My Arms Again for the first time... and I think it's good. It's good music with REAL musicians playing their instruments and singing (Ace's voice has always been subpar, but it's really him singing & without tech manipulation, and that's a big deal today). If this were 1985, both Cherry Medicine and Back Into My Arms would be radio hits. Top-10 songs? No, but they would be in the rotation for sure. Ace's music will never be confused with Zeppelin, the first 6 Van Halen records, or even Sabbath, but it's unique and it's genuine. It's all subjective my friend.
New York groove, Ozone, Rip it out, Speeding back to my Baby, Snow blind. Ace just nailed it on HIS solo album in 1978. Ace Is back with more Songs, that is so Cool. Rocket Ride & Shock Me........... Best Kiss Songs ever. Period
I too was a lil disappointed about the solo on this recording as well.but it's still a good lil ballad an I think ace has really hit this album out the atmosphere an im sure it will go platinum Don't you think? not bad for a supposed washed up ole rocker huh? Attaboy spaceman

@@Cookie-dr6iq you just don't get the type of writer an musician Frehley is . his style of writing an arranging,it's a classic 70s esk like talk to me,shock me,hard times ,even a lil rock bottem though that's not in the ballad style it has the tone.so when you say the album sucks ,.you really have your head up your culo because for the tens of millions of kiss,an comet fans around the world it is a 🔥album. most of us haven't heard all of it BUT WHAT WEVE HEARD WE LIKE. I'm sure your no fan of either of those two groups or you would dig what we've all been waiting for for a while to hear.HES A 2000 MAN!!!!!!
Prime! It is something with this song that makes some wet and salty come from my eyes, trying to be a hard man, but this hits right trough the heart. Thanks Ace for releasing this. The vocals is so sensitive on this.

It's classic Frehley writing! Much like talk to me ,shock me hard times ECT. I've heard alot of people mostly younger people say "it's corney" or too 80s an I say to them that they just don't understand aces writing style an the way he arranges his songs.you can,like many writers an groups always tell Frehley's songs.i think he has hit this out of the park an for an old dude he is still kicking ass.WHERE IS KISSES NEW ALBUM?????? I am so used to the demo, I am not sure what to say about it. I am just glad it's finally official now. It must be a copyright reason why he just did not clean up the demo and just did it that way. So maybe that this is why he sat on it for many years and finally said hell with it and made a newer version. I am sure it will grow on me after a few listens. I am just so used to the demo.
Yes finally i can hear this song properly after all those years!! I used to listen the demo on yt since years! and always thought was so nice. But now finally we have an official version!! This morning i was very happy to find it in my spotify !!

I appreciate the fact he finally "officially" released this song, but even this record is still NOT as good as it could be AND... the guitar solo was terrible. lol. OH WELL. Still fun to hear. Thanks for posting!
