He never bad mouthed Gene, Paul or the other guys. That shows class. Always has something positive to say about them, even when they didn't reach out to him.
There's a video of Ace talking to fans inside what looks to be a highschool gym. He was saying some not so nice words about Gene. It was Ace's birthday and Gene crashed Ace's rant as he made his way to the stage... carrying a birthday cake for Ace. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪🤪🤪👍
@@pumpkinpuna4087 ace is not so close to gene because gene is a worker and he is so fucking lazy, he is closer to Paul cause paul likes nice musicians...gene is closer to Peter cause Peter is a funny guy and more easy going than paul, so paul and gene work more together but arent that close. Paul doesnt likes Peter because he thinks peter is a bad player and not very bright. Peter and ace are buddies though they doesnt look have hanged out together much.
@Ace frehley I loved your bean joke about the 239 beans hahaha, great one. I have one for you, why do witches go without underwear? They get a better grip on the broom. hahaha Peace..
Ace is the only KISS member past or present I can see myself shooting the shit with. Laid back, seems like a stand up guy. Paul and Gene are far too rigid and serious. It’s rock n roll for crying out loud!
I met Paul in Orlando in '02 or '03 when he was at the NAMM show and a buddy of mine got me in. Paul was the coolest guy that you could ever meet; he actually listened and talked TO people, not at them. I heard that Gene is real serious, but once you get through that tough exterior, he's an ok guy.
@@buttercatz99 b s , gene Simmons carried Ace , if it wasn't for Ace Frehley and Peter Kiss wouldn't have been anything , what a half added bass player and a ok guitarist / singer couldn't have done it , I play guitar 51 years now , believe me if Ace was high and playing like he did , don't be saying that , Ace Frehley is a rock God , Gene Simmons stated Rock is dead , Gene Simmons talks shit , and so are you , kiss Army taken over by Rock Soldiers , Alice Cooper took Ace on tour not Gene not Paul , Geez what's that say , It says Alice Cooper knows Ace Frehley was and still is one of the best out there ,
I don't know what he's like on the street oh, but I've met him three times in signing situations and he was friendly. He acted like he'd rather be doing something else but.... after all the years of meeting fans I'm sure it doesn't feel like it did in 75 or 76
@@jimcall5232 To give Ace some slack...I cannot imagine what it's like to be a long time rock star. It probably warps the mind. Ace would be the best to have a drink at the bar with. No doubt. I saw a pic of him and Glenn Tipton hanging out backstage at some award ceremony. Glenn is pretty prickly, but he was laughing. If Ace can get Glenn to loosen up, Ace must be pretty fun.
I love watching interviews with Ace. He seems so cool and down to earth. He seems to talk about negative subjects (like the gene sexual accusations), without throwing Gene's name in the mud. He still talks highly of him despite issues between them. Rock on Ace!🤘
He doesn't even show up for his solo gigs on time or honor VIP tickets bought that included a meet and greet/autograph signing, and Gene and Paul knew he'd pull this same crap touring with them.
I’m sorry but Peter and Ace did that to themselves. In the 70’s they proved themselves to be flighty and untrustworthy so Gene and Paul were right to keep them on a tight leash during the reunions.
R.I.P. Eddie..... Ace has influenced more kids to pick up a guitar than any other musician. This is what makes him the greatest. He is a true rock star. He does what he wants and never sold out as a corporate puppet. I still play air-guitar everytime I hear his solos. Rock on Space Ace!
I hope Ace knows he had the best solo albums out of the four!!! His laugh is infectious. I wish I had it for my ringtone, that way I would never answer my phone, I'd just let it laugh all day!!!!
I forgot the guys name doing the interview with all 4 in full costumes. Tom Snyder I think. Where Ace says something like " I'm a plumber..." and he starts laughing. LMAO !!!!!! So funny !!!!! Ace was,is and forever will be my favorite.
There you go. "I've know Gene for 40 plus years and hes always been a gentleman around my girlfriends and wife" ... I've always liked Gene, I don't care what anyone says about him, and now I like him even more. Thanks Ace.
He's always very nice around fans too! Always read this and have personal experience of this. He even shared his own breakfast and an hour and a half very down to earth conversation with a fellow swedish Kiss fan that hung around Genes hotel like a stalker in reunion times :P
The Egomaniac Rock Star image of Gene was created by Bill Aucoin. In the early days of KISS, Bill thought Gene sounded too much like a Businessman, so he wasn't allowed to do interviews, because no kid is going to buy an album from some guy who sounds like his parents. The Rock Star Gene is all for show and marketing. He's really a nice Jewish guy from NY who loved his mother.
I read somethin' recently where Ace actually said Gene groped his wife or something. So, honestly, I don't even know who's a good guy or not at this point.
Great to see how well Ace is doing sober. Seams way happier and in peace than most, whilst still being 100% the guy he's always been. He's quite simply the real deal. Him and Keith Richards.
When I was growing up listening to Kiss, what attracted me to their music the most was the guitar. Ace is not a technically amazing player, but he has a unique sound that is what I call controlled chaos. He is a self-taught player that I think would have been ruined if he took formal lessons. He has rock and roll in his blood, and Kiss is not as good without him!
@@davidpierce9949 I never claimed to be a pro. Just my opinion from growing up listening to Kiss and other rock bands, as well as learning the history and becoming an enthusiast of some of the most popular guitarists in rock over the years.
ENOUGH ALREADY! IT IS OVER! Ace and Peter had their chance, don't get me wrong I Love KISS and new and old I LOVE them, but this is a dead horse being beaten, its time to move on , and I know Ace is pretty much done with them, so we are all KISS fans old and new.
They knew if there was a Q and A that Ace would be so popular they would have to keep including him because the crowd would want more Ace! He would show them up as to who the popular KISS member is!
Gene & Paul only rely on Ace when they need to be noticed again. If Ace was on the 'end of the road tour' Kiss would have sold out multiple nights at each venues, not just one show or struggle to get bums on seats at some venues.
can't say it better. Being that Gene is an "excellent businessman", they should put clauses in the contract that would prevent Ace from being able to do said things. I am sure Ace can hang and take much of the stress off of Paul and his vocal issues by singing 1/3 of the tunes at least.
Ace is a clown and a loser. He cant play anymore. His KISS songs suck. KISS is doing fine without him. One cool thing about seeing Ace at a 200 seat club - theres always plenty of good seats available. Nobody cares about Ace except for losers who think its still 1976. That being said, with the state of Pauls voice why would anyone pay to see them?
You can see exactly what happened with the EOTR tour. They teased Ace for several months, then released the tickets to test the waters. When they realised they were making enough from venues whether full or not as long as the expensive floor seats were mostly sold, they dropped the idea of Ace. Many of the venues had thousands of tickets for sale within a few days of the show and got sold on the cheap in the last 48-72 hours. if the first sales had been lukewarm they would have been on the phone to Ace in a flash, just like they begged him to come back following the Farewell Tour when Aerosmith enforced three original members for the joint tour, then they got Peter pack when Ace said no.
"I talked about it in my book" He could've went on to plug/ promote his book but nope he just continues to tell the story! Gotta love Ace he's so humble and down to earth. One of the few celebrities I would actually want to meet
Paul has been very clear that the only way VV will be at the final show is if he buys a ticket and stays in the crowd. Paul wants nothing to do with Vinnie.
@@ACEDIAMOND666 yeah, but the fans would like it to end with all included. We can all dream. Gene and Paul are about money, they would sell out a football stadium in minutes if that were to happen.
Ace is my 2nd-favorite guitar player of all-time (following Ritchie Blackmore). And it was Ace's stunning lead guitar work that sold me on this band...in an instant. After DEUCE & 100,000 YEARS, I thought, "This is the most amazing music I've ever heard in my life. I had no idea they were SO good! I thought their costumes & stage were what fans loved... I HAD NO IDEA IT WAS THE MUSIC!!" There's a reason their current guitar-player looks like and sounds like Ace: because they knew that was their winning ticket and the essential piece of the puzzle. No matter what people say about him, I will admit that Tommy is a solid guitar player. But, I have to admit that I don't really know what he sounds like because he spends his time in KISS trying to sound like, play like, even look like Ace. AND THERE'S ONLY ONE ACE. I love KISS! But let's be honest here: Ace is not in the band because of money. To get Ace back, they have to accept that they will need to pay him more per gig (probably quite a LOT more) then they pay Tommy. And it's their band now; they can choose with whom they want to play. And they figure, the money they lose from not having Ace there maybe works out to them being able to pay less to Tommy...plus, they don't have to deal with Ace being more forceful; Ace is NOT and NEVER was a yes-man. They want Tommy over Ace because they pay Tommy less and it makes Gene & Paul's lives easier. That's it. That's the only reason Ace is not in the band.
I love Ace, he is loveable and down to earth..He's really a beautiful human being, a heartthrob. Ace is growing old gracefully. He has always been my fave.
stan broniszewski the disrespect towards Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer is unreal. After the reunion, Gene and Paul wanted to have Ace on the symphony in Australia but he REFUSED. Peter Criss also REFUSED to come back to KISS after Eric Carr died. How can they say we weren’t given chances or weren’t asked when they refused
@@Joe-ou3rr, that's because it's about money. Peter had a problem with what he was getting paid. Supposedly, Ace lied about what he was getting paid, to Peter. Saying they care about fans, is one thing. When it comes right down to it. It's all about the money. Don't let anyone tell you different. Lol !
@@Joe-ou3rr where did you get the information that Kiss asked Peter to come back after Eric Carr passed? I've never heard that from anyone, not Peter, Gene, or Paul.
Ace is doing ok on his own. His latest solo album debuted at #81 on the Billboard 200 chart. There’s many rock albums that fail to reach #81 these days.
I think being in KISS made him miserable, he doesn't have the work ethic to keep up with Gene and Paul. That's not a cheap shot, its just factual Ace does things when he feels like it. KISS on tour has a tight schedule with make-up, meet and greets and the show. Ace just wants to show up and play.
@LF X Haha I know right! I know a guy named Bridgette lol. Idk why anyone would name their boy a girls name, it just sets them up to get picked on during their childhood.
@LF X Well I seem to remember that Clint Eastwood was called Marion by his parents. And there's an awesome song covered by Johnny Cash - A Boy Named Sue which is a cracking tune.
I got into playing guitar before Kiss arrived , but it was Ace that made me finally want to go out and perform and start up a band. Always the coolest member of Kiss and such a legend of a guy. Thank you for being that inspiration to a 15 year old me
Ace's laugh never fails to make me smile! And good for you Ace, if you don't like the way you're treated no need to put yourself in that situation! However it is too bad, Kiss needs Ace (not vice versa) AND: We miss you too Ace!!!
To: Ace I'm in San Diego, there's a homeless guy in my neighborhood named, "Billy". Says he grew up with you. He's a drinker, but really sweet dude. Good vibes when he mentions you.
You are one of the greatest guitar players in the world I saw you when I was 9. My first concert. I'll never forget it. I had every album of KISS. Keep rocking It was 1974 I saw kiss. I believe it was in Worcester Massachusetts.
Love this dude. Bronx born like me.💯💥. I've watched Ace since 75 . He opened the door for multitudes of todays guitar players. Ace was always my favorite. I can feel his humbleness and sincerity. I wish I could meet him someday. 🙏 God Bless you.
Ace you were Kiss. Without you there is nothing. fk what Paul or Gene has to say. This is from the real fans! You ripped up the world and was the embodiment of rock and roll to many. Thank you so very much!
Trey Reichert Stanley’s voice has gone to crap. He “can” play and he “can” solo. Ace isn’t looking to take Paul’s spot, he’s looking to take his own spot from tommy Thayer. The guy pretending to be ace...
Ace and Eric were the best members of KISS. I’m proud of what Ace has accomplished on his solo career and he brings out stuff that’s better than what KISS has re-recorded or what they brought out with Sonic Boom
"I don't consider myself that great a guitar player" Holy shit, he is one of the greatest. I can't wait to see him again. Last two times was at the Belly Up Tavern.
Ace your my true orginal No one would never ever play in the same level with the sound and feeling as you They are all pale copys And you and Peter ia always my true hero ever since back in early 1973 days your first records all the way to kiss alive ll was pure magic. Thank you🙏🙏🙏
Ace Frehley is simply awesome! I remember seeing "Frehley's Comet" a long time ago and it was one of the best gigs of that year. His first solo album was by far the best out of the 4 Kiss solo albums and if I had the money and imagination, I'd produce a Sci-fi movie with the sole intent of having Ace do the score for it
Ace looks and sounds great. I agree with some of the comments below that he seems happier than other interviews over the last couple years. Ace was always my favorite. Rock on, Ace, and stay healthy. Loved your new Origins II music. PS: if you do a volume 3, how about Strange Ways, Rocket Ride, and Mississippi Queen (I think your unique guitar tone and style would be fantastic with
They will. Once they've exhausted this tour. They will do select shows. I love Ace to bits but in fairness you can see why they don't want to sell tickets for a full tour based on him being there given his track record. Easier and better for everyone if they do a select few.
There are countless guitarists in the business that credit Ace as a huge influence on them, never met or heard anyone ever say they were influenced by Gene or Paul.
I saw Kiss 3-4 times in the 70's. Never thought about the man behind the mask, just the show. When I got older I felt bad to learn of the heavy drinking and drugs. Then the internet presented the whole picture at once. I'm 60 now and I have a lot of respect for this guy. Also my memories of the 7 shows I went to are more important, now that I know a lot more about that man behind that mask. Cheers Ace.
No they don’t. Never seen somebody with Ace’s talent waste it because of his lack of dedication. That’s why he’s not well known world wide, only in the USA. Brian May, Angus Young to name a couple are so dedicated even suffering deaths in their band. Ace quit because they didn’t like him drinking. Sad man.
@@Joe-ou3rr, I don't know why you think he's not well known. Aces been around the block. A lot of people know him from Kiss. There's no doubt about it.
I think they both are @ the point in their lives, where they don't need each other. They did help each other enough to get to where they are at today. Both have made enough money. They could stop doing what their doing and live comfortably for the rest of their lives. Rock n roll is a business. It will pay for itself. Just my opinion.
I was lucky enough to see kiss live in 1980 Waverley Stadium Victoria Australia. Paul, Gene, Ace and Eric Carr’s first tour. They were on and totally LIT. I’ve never seen them since and it’s pretty much the perfect memory of them for me. Ace made me wanna learn guitar and I’ve played everyday for 40 years since. Thanks Ace👍🤘🎸
I was lucky to have met the original lineup of Kiss (Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter) at their absolute pinnacle of success and then again years later. At both instances, Peter and Ace were the most accessible by the fans and seemed more genuine. Don't get me wrong, they were all very kind to the fans, just Ace and Peter were a little bit MORE so. I have the whole original band's autographed photos on my wall ( and Ace and Peter asked ME if they could autograph something for me, not the other way around, I always thought that was very kind of them) and I will always treasure those autographs and Peter and Ace's answers to my questions, especially the first time when I was just a kid. Of course, nowadays if you want to meet them, you have to pay an outrageous ticket price to do it as a meet and greet, and of course, you won't get to meet Peter and Ace. So if you ever want to know if things were REALLY that much better back in the day, there's one example to show you that they were...
